New client to this Vet hospital and after 5 months experience I won't be returning. The front desk staff are lovely, as are Dr. Reesman and Dr. Shattles. Unfortunately, most visits are conducted with Dr. Yeomans, which is the reason I won't be returning. After feeling overcharged for basic, limited exams, my last experience was an example of Vets in practice for the money. After bringing my 15 year old Dachshund/Chihuahua mix in for a nail trim, I wanted his eyes looked at where I noticed the beginning of clouding, to see if it was possibly the start of Glaucoma or Cataracts or something else. I understood an exam fee would be tacked on. But $57 to look at his eyes briefly, after I agreed to pay $30 for a Glaucoma test? Then offering cataract surgery to the tune of over $3000 per eye...on a 15 year old dog?? He didn't even blink when I said there was no way I could afford something like that. He suggest some drops that might help him see better longer, which he would have to "special order" and would "come in in 2 days" and would cost $74. I made the mistake of agreeing to this. Of course, they were available in 2 days. You can find them on Amazon Prime, no prescription necessary, as they are a vitamin drop, to the tune of $41! I felt like I was taken by a bad car salesman. $99 for an exam, a nail trim (Oh! I got a discount to $12 vs. $19 on the nails because I paid for an exam! What a deal!), and a glaucoma test. Besides the drops for $74 two days later. Another great previous Yeoman's snide remark, "Amazon, is not a pharmacy" (when I was considering buying joint supplements for my other dog and asked his opinion. Right...it's only a pharmacy for the VET who orders from them for non-prescription items...gotcha). If Dr. Reesman had her own practice, I would be there. But I refuse to return and be taken advantage of again. Read Less

Thorough, compassionate care for every animal our family has had over the last 20+ years. They present us with every care option and are realistic with prognoses. They always treat our pets wonderfully- the dogs get excited to go. A recent euthanasia had us all a mess in the room. They gave us all the comfort and time we needed and were very caring. We used this vet for about a year when we were new to the area. At first everything was fine until one of our dogs started having problems. Our 14 year old Sharpei Mix began having eye issues, we brought him in for many visits and tests along with different medication trials. He kept getting worse and at that point I figured it was his age. At the last appointment we took him to the Vet had the difficult conversation with me that we were either going to have to have his eye removed or put him to sleep because the pain he was in was inhumane. I feel that I should mention the Vet was kind and professional when delivering this heartbreaking news. At 14 my husband and I decided not to make him undergo major surgery but to put him to sleep, we scheduled it for the next Monday and spoiled him rotten all weekend. While feeding him his 3rd drive-thru cheeseburger on Sunday it dawned on me that maybe I should get a second opinion before I kill my dog (don't judge I was pretty upset and not thinking clear). I am happy to report that our dog lived another year and a half with the assistance of glaucoma eye drops. We were clients at Brookwood Animal Hospital for more than 25 years. We have had several pets that have been cared for by the Vets at this location. Most of my experiences there were good, but our last experience was horrible!!! Our cat was extremely ill, she just kept screaming and could not move her legs at all. We called the Vet first thing that morning and they said we would have to wait until 11:00 and they would see her then - she had already been in severe pain for several hours by now. My husband decided to take her up so that could see and hear just how bad it was. Not only was the individual at the front desk EXTREMELY rude, but Dr. Yoemen came out and got right in my husbands face and it got quite ugly. Needless to say, he didn't care one bit about the cat!! We had to take the cat the Bluepearl hospital where both my husband and our cat were treated with dignity and care. Brookwood has always been on the expensive side and Dr. Yoemen is always wanting to order tests and do things that are extremely expensive. My oldest daughter would not use him because of this. Amazing staff! Dr. Yeomans came in on a Saturday afternoon after my dog had an accident falling behind a retaining wall and had tar on the side of her. He clipped her fur so the tar is gone and he reassured me that she was ok. I'm so blessed to have great Vets who really care about their clients and the animals. Let me first state that this animal hospital seems adequate for pet care, it's just not what I am used to or prefer for my pet's care. The location is convenient enough but the parking lot and driveway is not driver friendly at all, unless you drive a tiny car, and not a van like I do. Very steep and narrow, with nary enough space to turn around in order to drive back out the driveway. When an animal hospital designates rooms specifically for cats and dogs (this one does), then the staff really should only use the cat room for cats and the dog rooms for dogs. Pet owners will know what I am talking about. A weight scale in the cat room would be a major help to cat owner's who prefer their pets be weighed where they can actually see them and not "down the hall" out of sight. I will assume the vet and the staff washed their hands before handling my pet but without a sink in the exam room(s), I don't know for sure. And I really like to be sure.I just didn't get a good feeling on either visit to this hospital and wasn't impressed overall, in any aspect. I have been going here for many years thinking this place was the best. The customer service they show is great but there actual results are not what I expected. I always take my dog here for regular check up and usually nothing was wrong with her so they treated me well since they did not really have to perform anything major. After about 5 years of taking her there she became really ill and started to show really bad symptoms, so as usual I took her to this place. The doctor told me to resolve the issue we would have to perform surgery. Without thinking twice I said yes just to get her feeling better and away from the pain she was going through. After the surgery she started to get an allergic reaction to something that was unknown. I took her back to this place and started her different medicinal food and on trial medication after trial medication to find something that would work best. This process was really expensive and ending up costing me over $400.00. After all the trial medication she was not getting better, in fact she was getting worse. After I noticed no change was happening from this vet I decided to take her somewhere else and find a solution at another vet. After 2 weeks from her initial visit I started to see a huge difference in get allergy and now she is doing much better. The other vet was much more affordable and the doctor was much more pleasant to work with. My dog is also very temperamental, she does not like to be around people she does not know well and this vet did not know how to handle her. I was always the one to hold her and carry her even while doing little tasks like getting her nails clipped. The new vet that I take her to now carry her and handle her they way vets are supposed to. Overall I would never recommend Brookwood Animal Hospital to anyone, unless you like wrong diagnosis and spending a lot money for nothing. Read Less
