Stone Mountain Animal Hospital

Stone Mountain, Georgia
General Info
Stone Mountain Animal Hospital in Stone Mountain turns every room into a conversation. The way animals are positioned in Georgia goes beyond mere standing to encompass angling and arcing around something as important as care. Directly approaching pets happens only if the animal “invites” it. Staff modify their directional pathways by means of gentle curves and bodily shifts at sideways and diagonal angles. This decreases the startle reflex and builds orientation trust. Caregivers sit at 90 degrees to the animal so that it can triangulate between the two comfort zones and medical presence. Long before any tools become visible, scientists note, intricate patterns of blinking co-vary with the arcs of the paws and shifts in balance. Stone Mountain Animal Hospital provides imaging services along with early detection and chronic issue management. It additionally offers cardio screening, gastrointestinal alignment, and age-specific care plans. Access tolerance sequences the services path. Some animals allow only the flank approach before the frontal one. The way instruments are placed on the floor before use helps to improve responsiveness. Healthcare discharge protocols teach owners how to walk their dogs in a calm zigzag pattern as they exit the hospital and when checking bandages at home. They recommend that bedding be placed on floors and not in corners. The implementation of the above strategies diminishes flight behaviors and restores spatial security in the pet’s natural habitat. Stone Mountain Animal Hospital interlaces its attention into every caring corner throughout Georgia’s neighborhoods from Stone Mountain so that animals perceive the treatment as an invitation rather than a disruption. At Stone Mountain Animal Hospital, the following services are offered: Surgery, Wellness Exams, Dermatology, In-House Pharmacy and Prescription Medications, Homeopathy, Cardiology, Allergy Testing, Oncology and Nutritional Counseling. This variety of services ensures that pet owners in Stone Mountain and the surrounding areas have access to everything their pets need, from basic checkups to more advanced medical procedures. The clinic remains a trusted partner to pet owners in the Stone Mountain region by offering access to compassionate care needed to ensure the health and wellbeing of pets.

I brought my dog in because he wasn’t putting his leg down. After rushing me because “the doctor was on his way out” and scolding me because unfortunately I did not have $300 to get my dog x-rayed that same day they left a sour taste with me. They lacked compassion and seemed to only want to get paid. They “examined” by baby for less than a minute and FALSELY determined his hip was broken. Turned out to be a fracture of his knee. I found that out at an AMAZING vet somewhere else. Paid half of what they estimated. Oh yeah, and they charged me $56 for nothing. DO NOT BOTHER WITH THIS PLACE!!! Read Less

I've been a client of Stone Mountain Veterinary Hospital for almost 10 years now.  I share my life with six cats so a good veterinarian is actually more important to me than my own doctor.  Dr. Nicole Aponte and every member of the staff at SMAH have proven over the years to be my greatest ally in the care of my pets.  Dr. Aponte is thorough in her examinations and takes the time to explain everything to me.  She knows each of my cats by name and remembers their history and frankly this is better than I manage on a daily basis.  If I ever have questions or concerns she addresses them in terms I can understand.Over the years she and the whole staff have taught me to administer sub-Q fluids at home (saving tons of money for me and lots of stress for the feline who needed them).  They have been a shoulder to cry on when it's time to let one go off to the Bridge.  They are, quite simply, they people I trust completely with the pets I love. This place isn't fancy, and located down a drive off Memorial just eat of Hairston (just west of the entrance to the Wells Fargo) you might miss it.  The much more fancy, state of the art hospital is located on Sugarloaf Parkway in Snellville and this is just a short drive if things like orthopaedic surgery is needed.  My Phoebe had to have knee surgery when she was only 16 months and Dr. Brown did a great job out of Snellville.  If you live within 15 miles and don't see this vet you are missing a great opportunity.
