DCAH has been an active practice since September 1, 1978. Dr. Robert McKaig, DVM, was the original owner and is still practicing as one of our vets at the office today. He sold the practice to Dr. Nick Weldon, DVM in September 2011.
DCAH is based on the belief that our customers' needs are of the utmost importance. Our entire staff is committed to meeting those needs. As a result, a high percentage of our business is from repeat customers and referrals.
We would welcome the opportunity to earn your trust and deliver you the best service in the industry.
Small animal services are provided at our office. We are equipped to handle all your pet emergencies or yearly vaccinations and everything in between. It is our goal to provide you with a thorough visit with our staff. Your pet's health will always be of the utmost importance to us. Please feel free to call our office to set up an appointment. For after hours pet emergencies you can call our office and leave a message. The doctor will return your call.

Gave my cat the wrong medicine then called me to bring him in to check him out after i called about his behavior. Then they charged me for the visit, the veterinarians are super nice but front desk help are not friendly that time i went and had my cats species pulled up on computer on the previous visit and still gave me the wrong medication. So front desk is not observant, or aware of their responsibilities their job requires.

I absolutely love the fact they have a Saturday walk-in clinic for those that work through the week. It is so convienant!!
I feel like my family is treated like their family.

Dr. Collins is the best and my hero! My sweet kitty Charles had swallowed a really long piece of thin burlap from Christmas decorations laying around the house. It was wrapped around the base of his tongue and into his intestines. After several visits since we didn't know what was causing his rapid weight loss, he had surgery and the burlap was found and removed. Dr. Collins called me late into the evening after hours to give me an update and was so kind and caring. I am so thankful for Dade County Animal Hospital and the staff - everyone at the clinic was fantastic!

Dr. Collins and the nurses the are the best, was there just this morning, Dr. Collins always takes time with every dog I take there. When my Baby Diesel got liver cancer I just broke down and just started bawling, he stayed with me and comforted, in stead of running off, Ty Dr. Collins you will never know how much that met at the time. I will always take my babies to see him.

Gave my cat the wrong medicine then called me to bring him in to check him out after i called about his behavior. Then they charged me for the visit, the veterinarians are super nice but front desk help are not friendly that time i went and had my cats species pulled up on computer on the previous visit and still gave me the wrong medication. So front desk is not observant, or aware of their responsibilities their job requires.
