My dog gets treated and boarded at HLAH and the staff is always amazing! They and the Dr always take their time with my dog who is easily scared and has separation anxiety. Moved to town a few months ago and after having used the same previous vet for years I was nervous about trying to find a new one but HLAH is perfect. I couldn't ask for better service. The last 2 visits here have been very expensive. We have had such good care with previous pet, but, as they have gotten busier, the fees keep adding up. The cost of tests will get you. The atmosphere is very quiet and calm, which is one of the reasons we return. The stress level is already high for our pet, and the calmness really makes a difference to his behavior. The first incident happened when i order my boston terrier prescription diet food online.The one receptionist went off on me. The second incident happen on Feb 2 when i noticed my pug was not bearing weight on his front leg; this was at 5:30 pm. I called the clinic explained what happen, i was told there was appointment available the next morning at 9am. Mind you i have a client with them for over a year. I ended up seeing another vet that same night. When i went to get copies of my dog(s) vet records, Dr. henke did not show any remorse. He had an additude of ''ok fine". I would never use him again. I have been coming to Dr Henke with my babies for years. He and his staff have provided wonderful care of my babies. They have all been a comfort through several times of sorrow and anguish when I have lost a pet. Dr Henke even met me at his office late on a Sunday night when I returned from a vacation to find that the kennel where I had boarded my Yorkie had killed my baby. He and his staff had bathed him and put him in a little white coffin for me. I have since moved, but I still drive six hours to board them with Dr Henke if I have to leave my babies. After a recent move to the area I had to locate a new veterinarian for my three pups (2 adult pit mix and 1 adult chihuahua). I visited several clinics in Warner Robins and Perry. My search included finding a clean facility, welcoming/friendly staff and of course a knowledgable and genuine Doctor. We found our new veterinary home here! The doctor and staff made sure they made us feel welcome and comfortable. My pups received annual shots and baths! Everything went great! About a week later one of my pups had to make an emergency visit in which the doctor and staff made arrangements to see us right away and followed up by phone a couple days later to check on my pups well being. They are really great!! We will continue to return for monthly baths (I've tried three groomers in the area and the groomer and bath results are best here too!) and all of our vet needs. I brought my cat in based on my mothers suggestion since she's been bringing her animals to him for years, we'd taken her to 2 other vets in the area who "quick fix" treated her and it never lasted long. When I brought her in we really thought she was on the verge of death but i have been SO pleased with the help we received, my girl has made a massive turnaround and I'll never take my pets anywhere else. Thank you so much for taking such great care of Artemis the other day. I'm sad because I feel like if I would have brought my other kitty to you a few weeks ago she might still be alive. Instead we had a total nightmare experience with another vet. I had only took her there the first trip because Dr. Henke was in surgery and it was the end of the day. When my husband took Artemis to you recently, we were anxious due to our horrible experience, but the experience was like night and day from the other place. It has never been bad in the past, but still a relief. Dr. Henke is always very perceptive, LISTENS, is knowledgeable, and has common sense. He is good at diagnosing and I've never felt my pet was neglected by staff while left at the facility's care in the past. All vets should be like this but I learned my lesson. Ironically I'd like to tell anyone reading reviews to always listen to your gut over any reviews because the other place has really good reviews too. I'd like to thank Dr. Henke for seeing my dog today. I went to Dr. Henke for a second opinion on my dog's initial diagnosis of Congestive Heart Failure. He confirmed what I already knew, but was very thorough in his examination and very gentle and loving towards my dog Molly. He took ample time in showing me her xrays and explaining everything about her condition. I would recommend Dr. Henke to anyone dealing with anxiety about taking their pet to see the vet. His staff is very friendly and accommodating and squeezed me in on such short notice. I agree with the other reviewer, the appointments are easy to get and you are seen quickly and at your appointment time. The vet himself does take the time to answer any of your questions. We just moved to the area a few months ago and added a new addition to the family, this vet is the ONLY one that seemed to have a good review so I chose them to check out our new puppy. The first two appointments seemed fine, in and out with no issues. The Doc SEEMED to really care about the animals so when it was time for my family to go out of town for a short weekend I did not hesitate to call them and see if they had room in their kennel and sure enough they did. I "thought" with such excellent service during our appointments with the vet that our pups would get the same treatment while they stayed there over the weekend.. Boy was I wrong.. I dropped them off that Friday, asked if I could see where they would be staying and got a very weird look, like no one has ever asked to see the back area before. They told me it would be a few minutes so I waited.. After I went back there I saw my dogs in the kennel, gave them a kiss and said my goodbyes. I brought two of their favorite toys to keep them company while I was gone. They told me they would have plenty of bedding "towels" for the dogs to sleep on. Dropping them off was very inpersonal, I did not have a good, warm fussy feeling that I normally have when leaving my dogs in others care. When I returned Monday morning a lady brought me the plastic bag with their remaining food and their toys.. I opened the bag is PURE URINE hit my face.... The toys were soaking wet, I told them they smell like pee and they responded with "are you sure it's not water?" Are you freaking kidding me!? Then they brought my babies out (pug and great dane), I had my son in the car so I just took the dogs and went straight to the car after paying my bill of 120.00.... As I started driving the smell was so horrific that I had to roll my windows down. I get home and as I got my dogs out of the back seat I realized it wasn't just the bag of urine soaked toys they gave me, it was my dogs that smelled like urine too!! My poor babies were covered in their own urine. I called and personally spoke to the vet, he asked if i could bring them back up there and he would give them a bath... Yeah Right, I'm going to put urine covered dogs back in my car with a 17 month old baby and drive all the way up there so you can give them a bath???? Something that should have been done before I even got there?!? My husband called them to discuss this and the vet then proceeded to give my husband another story and pretty much telling my husband that I was not giving him all the information... So now I'm a liar??? I took the toys back up there JUST so the doctor could smell what he sent home to me and he refused to even open the bag.... He did not want to take any responsibility for the way my dogs were treated or taken care of and told me if I wanted top treatment I should go board them somewhere else, that he doesn't pay his staff members to come in more than twice a day for 15 minutes at a time to feed, clean and let the dogs out... My dog cannot eat, and go to the bathroom within 15 minutes??!?!? I will pay the extra money to ensure my dogs are taken care of... And as I called him Mr. Henke he rudely stopped me in my sentence and corrected my address to him as DR.. Henke... What an asshole.... My concern was for my dogs and he was concerned that I didn't address him as Dr.... I will NEVER go back to this jerk..... Read Less

I have only take my dog here once but I was very happy with them. All the staff was kind and gentle with my dog. The staff and vet was knowledgeable and did a wonderful job answering all my questions. The only services that we have gotten were a checkup and shots. The vet did a thorough job in a short amount of time. This visit was over with very quickly and checkout was easy. Prices were reasonable for the services.
