I got an appointment at this vet to have my Chihuahua examined, I could tell that she had an infection were she got spayed a few days ago. This was our first time using this animal hospital (more like quick care for animals) and I was highly disappointed and would not recommended this place to anyone!  All we needed was for the doctor to check her incision and give antibiotics for the infection..   We go into the office, wait about 25 minutes to get into a room (with only one other family there) it takes the doctor about 20 more minutes to see our puppy, he was in there for about 2 whole minutes with us and suggested liquid antibiotics for her small size and next thing I know he pops a shot in her not mentioning what it is or what it is for and he says that the lady will be back with the antibiotics and he leaves.  So all together the vet visit was $101.86 for that! $43.00 for just the office visit, $20.00 for the injection and $38.84 for the Clavamox Drops 15ml (which I have called two other vets for the pricing on this medicine and they said that is costs about $28 at the most)!! And need I tell you that the receptionist told me over the phone that it should only cost about $60 all together!  Another thing that I do NOT like about this vet is that you could see and hear him with the other patients and he would NOT wash his hands while jumping from dog to dog :(  Not sanitary at all, they over charge for their medicine, the over all inside of this building is ran down and I will never bring my dog back here! Good luck to anyone who has an actual emergency with their pet, you and your pet will be better off going somewhere else!   I guess I will continue driving 2 hours from my house to take my dog to the vet, that way I know that they will be taken care of and that the vet is not a thief! Let me start off saying Barrow Vet. Hospital is an excellet place to take your animals. I started off taking my pets there around 1998. I did change at one point but only because of location. Big mistake. I went back to Barrow Veterinary Hospital and have been there ever since (about 13 years). We've never had a problem with the dr or any of his staff. His prices are very fair and he never performed a procedure without giving other options. If you don't want a certain test done due to cost, he doesn't do it or pressure you to do it- like another vet's. One of our dogs had cancer. He and his staff were very sympathetic and he explained in details exactly what was going to happen as the tumor grew and what to expect. He was right on money. For the person complaining about $12 and taking their pet to PetSmart. Are you serious? You want to take your animal to a vet that doesn't listen, performs unnecessary exams, then wants to perform more unnecessary tests, then walk out with a $500.00 bill...then go to PetSmart. And no, I am not a family member or employee. I forgot what day they stay open late and I just googled and then read the reviews. Read Less

I will never ever take my dog here again! I took my dog here because he was scooting his bottom on the floor I knew he didn't have worms so I wanted to get his a glands extracted. The vet so rude!! he came in didn't even great himself then lifted my dogs tail and said its allergies and left the room the vet tech came in and said even though he didn't get anything its still $12.00. WHAT! I was there for 3 mins I will never EVER take my dog back. Better stick with petsmart down the road if you ask me. Dont waste your gas, time, or money here. Read Less

We just moved to Barrow County and needed a new vet, So we went to Barrow Veterinary Hospital they were very friendly and fast. We were in and out in no time, my dog Zeus was taken very good care of! Also there are so many animals just walking around the store which was so fun for my son who is 14 months who played with a puppy the whole time with my husband. I would recommend if you live in Winder to take your pets here. The prices were reasonable also! Read Less
