When we moved to the area, finding the right vet was very important to us. We tried several, but just couldn't find what we were looking for. We tried Winder Animal Hospital on a reccomendation, and knew right away we had found our pet care. The entire staff, from vet to office support, is caring and genuinely concerned about my pets well being. They take the time to answer all of my questions and discuss treatment options. We've been coming to WAH for 10yrs now, through 4 dogs. They can be a little pricey but for good reason the quality of service has always been outstanding. Every time we go, they always make a big deal that we're there, especially Andrea, she is awesome! Dr. Duffy is so great at explaining things and takes his time doesn't rush or make you feel rushed. Never really had any issues looking back. We had to put our boxer down, he had lymphoma, they were so respectful and patient with us. Wow! Where do I begin? Our 14 year old dog starting having urinary incontinence and trembling so we brought her here. Long story short, the incontinence was possibly due to age and her having been spayed but they found cancer that likely went from the spleen to the liver, hence my dog's discomfort/pain. We decided to put her down the next day. They made the decision process easy for us, allowed us to choose the level of diagnostic services that we felt was appropriate and necessary and gave us a realistic picture of our situation, presenting to us all possible options. The next day when we came in the staff was so kind and caring, from the front desk to the vets. They prepared a room beautifully for it and euthanized her in such a gentle way, they put an IV in, anesthesized her and then euthanized her. Every attention to detail was paid...as hard as it was to do, they made it as easy on us as possible. Everyone there was empathetic to our plight. Our little princess was so special to my wife and I and we felt that they gave her all the dignity that she deserved and more caring and understanding than we would have dared to expect. Yesterday morning around 7am my family said goodbye to our 2 year old golden retriever, Gracie. Gracie had epilepsy and would have frequent seizures. WAH prescribed her 3 different types of medicine but the seizures never subsided. Over the past few months Gracie's nose became extremely dry, very abnormal for a dog. Of course, common sense tells us that when a dog has a dry nose it usually means the dog isn't well. My mom took Gracie to the WAH and they told my mom that her nose was dry due to digging and it was nothing to be concerned about. Last Friday Gracie's nose began to bleed and then her mouth started bleeding, this continued for 48 hours straight. My parents immediately brought her into WAH on Monday where they held her to "watch" her and diagnose the bleeding. When my mom went to pick her up at 4pm Gracie's two front legs were bandaged up and her leg was extremely swollen. When my mom took Gracie to WAH she was able to stand and walk, when we brought her home after the visit she was unable to walk at all. Shortly after, Gracie stopped breathing while at home and she passed away. My family did some research on our own and it clearly states that dry nose on a dog is a serious matter, but WAH didn't take the time to actually diagnose the issue which could've prevented her passing. This place is unprofessional, inconsiderate and an embarrassment. I will never recommend anyone take their pets here! If I could give them no stars, I would. Winder Animal Hospital is heartless and unprofessional. Two days ago, we brought my dog Gracie to the vet because she was having issues with blood clotting. Other than that, she was still walking, eating, jumping, and being her usual self. After taking some blood, the vet advised us to take Gracie home and we would receive the test results in the morning. When we got home with Gracie, her front leg was purple and swollen- 3 times the size of her normal leg. Additionally, her hind leg was swollen and purple. The vet never advised us what to do once we got home, she made it seem as if Gracie would be back in the morning after the test results returned. That morning we were suppose to receive the test results, Gracie stopped breathing and passed. My mom called and left a voicemail to ask for the test results and advised them that Gracie passed. The vet still has not returned our call and never gave us the test results. She didn't even show any sympathy for our loss.Again, Gracie was only 2 and a half years old and PERFECTLY fine before we took her to the vet. But as soon as we took her to Winder Animal Hospital, she couldn't walk. She stopped eating. She couldn't even use the bathroom. I don't know what they did to her and I really hope she wasn't in pain when she passed. We paid $400 that day just for her to pass away and get no test results back. Also, Gracie's nose was dry and cracking for several months and up the her last day, so we brought it up to the vet. They said it was nothing and just a result of her "digging". If you even google "dry dog nose", it clearly brings up in big, bold letters that this is a sign that something is wrong with your dog.You only care about money and you have no sympathy for your customers. The least you could do is give us answers. But all we know is that we will never come near this place again and taking our two other dogs somewhere better. Read Less

Dr. Duffy is hands down the *best* veterinarian I have ever been to. He saved my sweet Blondi's life with a much needed leg amputation. Dr. Duffy is very compassionate and he thoroughly explains everything. His staff is very friendly also! The facility is clean and very well maintained. I went to Winder Animal Hospital last week because my 3 month old kitten was hit by a car; we didn't know he had gotten out of the house. There were people in front of me waiting and they took him back immediately. I was crying and the receptionist calmed me down and talked to me until I was calm. When the vet finished examining him he personally took me in the back to see him. He told me everything they had to do to Raven, everything that was wrong and everything that needed to be done. When I went to pick him up the vet spoke with me personally and went through everything I needed to do to take care of him. He personally showed me how to give him his medicine and told me if I had trouble I could call up there everyday and he would talk me through it. I've never been treated so well. My animals have never been treated so well. I will never go to another vet. Also, the pricing is the most reasonable pricing I've ever paid. This is the best animal hospital I've ever been to and I've been to A LOT (I have ten cats.) I will always take my business there and I will always recommend them to anyone who needs a vet, because they saved my precious baby. Thank you guys so much!!Read Less

We took our cat in because she was sick. Turns out she had eaten a piece of string which was blocking her intestines. We were told that if she did not have emergency surgery she would die. We agreed to the surgery to save our pet. We never saw her again. She died the same night. While I understand that things like this happen, and then it isn't anyone's fault , the fact that I was still charged for the surgery made what was already a painful experience even worse. I'm not blaming anyone for the death of our pet, but I'm disappointed and infuriated at the fact that they still charged me for a surgery that didn't save my cat. We will be taking our business elsewhere from this point forward. And just know that the $900 you charged us is a lot less than you would have made on the rest of our pets in the coming months or years. Read Less

Winder animal hospital is not just a business they are family. They saved both of my cats lives. They have welcomed my Rottweiler in for pain management of hip dysplasia. They are always so kind and welcoming when I come in. Doctor Fowler is awesome. She is always patient and makes sure that every need is met and every question is answered. The environment is clean and comfortable. The techs are gentle and helpful.Andrea and Stacie are outstanding with customer service. We have a five year-old kitten that has been diagnosed with multiple issues. She has Bladder Stones, Diabetes and Kidney Problems. We rescued her when she was a young kitten, and she has been a part of our family since. She was our Daughter's first Kitten and is very much loved. With all of these medical problems we have made the choice to euthanize her because she is in pain and we cannot afford to treat all of these problems she has. When my Wife called WAH the staff made a BAD situation even worse. The person she talked with told her that she was a bad person for wanting to euthanize her and they would not do that at their office. So this folks, is how Winder Animal Hospital operates. They have no regard for the fact that this sweet cat is suffering, they only care about money and seeing how much of it they can squeeze out of people. Regardless of treatments our cat is terminally ill-she is going to pass away soon, and no treatment is going to change that or give her a better life. My Wife is already upset as we all are, and these horrible, mean spirited people have made her feel worse for trying to do the right thing. If you want a PETA/LIBERAL mind set then by all means use WAH; you will not be disappointed. If you want to have mercy, kindness, and do what's ultimately the best thing for your animals go somewhere else. By the way this is not our first encounter with WAH. Several years ago they did the same thing to us, but we let them make us believe that treatments would work. They soaked us for every dollar they could and then soaked us for more to euthanize our cat. Shame on you WAH for upsetting people that are already distressed! B****** Read Less

I have had to have 2 of my dog put to sleep and has chosen doctor duffy and his group of veterinarians to get me through the grieving process and to take the best care of my animals.I highly recommend this group if you need anything from animal care like normal shots teeth cleaning to friendly staff for euthanasia. my family did not comfort me as much as they did. I went into this vet office without a hope of getting anyone to see my Gator he is a miniture Pincher. I was given this bundle of joy for christmas from my husband. He is 6months old and became very ill the past few days. I started calling vet hospitals in Winder, Ga and they were the only people that would see him and take payment later. They were caring and kind people. My disability check comes on the first. I did not have the money to get him checked out. They took excellent care of him. He was diagnosed with Parvo. I am still hoping for the best. If he has a chance to make it I want to make sure that Winder Animal Hospital knows it is because of them that he even had a chance, Many thanks and prayers for you guys we love you for all you have done!!! After moving, we needed a new vet for our dog, and I am so happy that we found Winder Animal Hospital! The facility is wonderful and incredibly clean! It is well-maintained and the exam rooms are spacious and sanitary. The staff was so very receptive to us as new clients, and they loved all over our dog! He was in Heaven! The receptionists were very professional and incredibly friendly. The Vet Techs spent a great deal of time getting to know our dog and recording his history. Dr. Duffey was VERY attentive to our needs and was very thorough in his exam. He spent a great deal of time explaining all the treatment options, gave very useful advice, and spent a lot of time with us overall. They are also reasonably priced from my experience; however, I would be willing to pay a little more for excellent service! I happened to have my hands full with our large dog and my 1 year old daughter on this particular visit, and the vet techs were nice enough to help me out to the car!Read Less
