I have a 10.5 year old lab with a trigeminal nerve sheath tumor who presented today with fever and vomiting. We are patients of another vet in town, but they closed at 1 today so I had to find other care immediately.  When I called and explained the situation, they told me to come in right away. I got there 5 minutes later, was put into a room, and saw the doctor in less than 5 minutes. Dr. Baker took her time and went over every possible cause for the fever and gave me recommendations for care on to make the dog comfortable until he could see his other doctor tomorrow.  He was given fluids and an anti-nausea shot. I was so scared that I'd have to put my dog down because the cancer had finally affected his quality of life. I was so thankful to be treated with compassion throughout the entire visit and given hope that this may have just been a fever unrelated to the cancer. The next 24 hours will tell, but at least my dog is resting peacefully now and his temperature is back to normal. Thank you Trickum Ridge! Read Less

We have been going to Trickum Ridge for a couple of years now. We weren't impressed with their former vets and were about to switch when we became patients of the fantastic Dr. Handley. She is on top of it! She helped us get the proper diagnosis for our dog and even referred us to a specialty vet hospital just to be on the safe side since our dog's tumor was in a tricky location close to her nose. She has called us multiple times just to check on our dog since she's been getting chemo treatments. It's obvious to me that she really cares. Read Less

We took our 2 year old calico here to get what I believe to be a UTI checked out.. she was mewing in pain while trying to tinkle. Her litter box had very little urine in it and normally she has large hamburger style pattys of pee clumped after her wiz. so this was not normal. They insisted on a blood / x ray sample, total cost was going to be over $400. We had a wait time of almost a half hour even after calling in ahead of time. They minded no attention while me and my fiance were waiting, just bantering about non-work related topics behind the desk.Needless to say, it was a simple UTI and she just needed antibodies...nothing more. A couple days later she was back to normal. I paid the 400 because it was late, my cat was in pain, and we just wanted her feeling better. The experience was very dull and the cost was in my opinion not fair. I called Affordable Vet Center off Bellsferry, and if we had the same services done it would've been under $200. It's a shame because these guys are so close to my house, however I'm willing to drive an extra 20 minutes to save $200 bucks. Be sure to shop around for quotes if you can. Read Less

If you are a mom you understand that running errands with your children, especially toddlers, isn't always easy. So when my two year old started crying at the vet all I wanted to do is pay and be on my way. So as I stood there in front of the receptionist, with my 83 lb Giant Schnauzer, with his newly fitted cone and my credit card in hand I waited for her to acknowledge me. When she finally looked up at me it was to tell me, that I needed to do something with my child because she couldn't hear on the phone. Does she know that she works at a vet's office where there are multiple animals making all kinds of noises?! Then she proceeded to tell me that I need to pick up my child and to GO OUTSIDE! Really?! I am standing here trying to pay?! We have been going to TRICKUM RIDGE ANIMAL HOSPITAL in Woodstock, GA for 8 plus years, until yesterday. That was our last visit. I scooped up my kids, my dog and loaded them in the car. The vet tech came out to tell me that I needed to come back inside and pay my bill. The lack of regard for customers is truly disappointing and I caution anyone going there. No one from, TRICKUM RIDGE ANIMAL HOSPITAL has made any effort to reach out to me. Read Less

I have never had a problem with Trickum Ridge Animal Hospital. I take my poodles there for annual visits, boarding and grooming (although they currently do not have an in house groomer). The staff and doctors are great! My pups like them too!! Read Less

Really wonderful people here. The only thing that stops me from giving 5 stars is the pricing has raised in the past two years. As long as it's an exam and fairly simple, it's reasonable. But additional blood work or a biopsy is really expensive! I do love the staff here though, they are so kind and understanding and I appreciate how quickly you can get in. I received a paw print with his name on it and a card signed by everyone who cared for him, need I say more? My dog Max walked in to get his teeth cleaned and walked out with a spun out of control infection (which was caused by the procedure) after paying almost $1000. Now he is dead! Max had 1 (one) loose tooth when I brought him in. Dr. T. however pulled 21 (twenty one) teeth without getting back to me asking, if this is what I want. Pulling more teeth means more money for her, which is the reason why she pulled that many teeth. How can a responsible veterinarian even do this? I am completely beside myself! In the end Dr. T. completely ruined my dog's mouth and created an infection that was completely uncontrollable. Very obviously something went wrong during the procedure. Max developed a massive mass on his neck directly after the procedure. No antibiotics and not even steroids were able to get the horrific infection under control. She later on did an ultrasound and she had no clue whatsoever what the mass on his neck was. She even said: "I don't know what this mass is. I can't even tell you if this is the lymph node." This is pure incompetence! It is clear that something really bad went wrong during the teeth cleaning procedure. A vet at another clinic was shocked over the amount of teeth that were pulled and that I wasn't contacted before they destroyed his mouth and his life. I was talking to the Trickum Ridge head staff and they reject any responsibility for the obvious malpractice. They even said that "he already had cancer before the teeth cleaning". How can they say that without a single test prior to the teeth cleaning? - Fact is that Max was healthy and happy before I took him there for the teeth cleaning. - Fact is that he immediately got the mass on his neck after the procedure of which he died shortly after. - Fact is that they pulled 21 teeth and destroyed his mouth and consequently his health. I deeply regret going to Trickum Ridge Animal Hospital and highly suggest to avoid this vet clinic at any cost! And also: Do not believe any of the 5 star reviews from people with just one contribution. Trickum Ridge Animal Hospital already admitted that they had a "promotion" for Google reviews. Of course the people write a 5 star review not to jeopardize the discount they hope to get. This should be reported to Google and all of these fake reviews should be removed. Regarding your response: You miserably failed with your goal! My dog died because of YOUR malpractice! In our discussions over the phone you've denied any responsibility and tried to blame the death of my dog at first on me, telling me that I declined a biopsy, which was never offered, and then you claimed that Max already had cancer. This is ridiculous! Your flip-flopping between excuses shows that you are at fault and that you are directly responsible for the death of my dog! You have then cut off the discussion and told me to "direct any further communication to your lawyer". You don't care about the health of the animals and the happiness of your customers. You only care about money. It is undeniable that my dog was happy and healthy before I took him to your clinic for the extraction of ONE tooth and cleaning the rest. YOU have made him sick! Took Rebel in on a Sunday for an urgent hot spot treatment. Rebel is a large black sable German shepherd...terrifying to most people even past vets. Everyone here was so nice and sweet to him. Even in his state he took right to the vet and tech. Everyone was equally nice to me, and the service for the price was off the chart. I started going to Trickum Ridge on the referral of a friend. I was going to a vet that was closer to my home. I am so glad I switched because this place is fantastic! Each of my babies has a different need in a vet; Thea sees Dr. Wood and she loves her! Black Dahlia and Lt. Joe Kenda see Dr. Trujillo, she is so awesome with both of them. Dahlia has been progressively getting fear aggressive when it comes to vet visits but Dr. T is so patient with her, she knows exactly how to handle her. They are extremely knowledgeable when it comes to the giant breeds. This makes me so much more at ease. Thea met Ashton at the dog park so it is fun to come I'm and be able to talk about when Thea was nothing but legs and all clumsy. Spent $1000.00 in two days on treatment for our dog and vet could not tell us what was causing illness- offered me 25$ credit for great Google review of their services so buyer beware that this 4.8 rating is some what skewed and biased. Meanwhile, our dog is still sick and we are no better off than when we initially took him in for evaluation. The people at Trickum Ridge Animal Hospital treat my miniature poodle so well that he gets excited about going there. I board him there when I travel, as well, and he is always taken care of well. Trickum Ridge is by far the best veterinary clinic we have used. We used a clinic down the road but after our dog was diagnosed with cancer and passed away we thought it was time to find a new clinic as our previous seemed as though it was a burden to talk to us about the condition and would forget to return calls when our dog was very ill. After the horrible experience, we decided to try Trickum Ridge and I'm so happy we did. We've used several vets there and they have all been outstanding and kind to us and our dogs. We always feel welcome and feel that they go above and beyond with each visit we have. Receptionists are always great, as well as the techs they have. Wish we had found them sooner! Thank you!! I can't say enough nice comments regarding this Vet clinic! The staff up front is very nice & compassionate, Ashton is such a wonderful CSR! The Techs and the Vets (especially Dr. T) is awesome, I can't say enough nice things about them all. I had the have my soon to be 12 year old kitty Stormy put to sleep a few weeks ago because she got sick very quickly with renal failure and Dr. T and staff was so compassionate and nice. I've been using this vet for over 10 years and can't say enough about how great they are. It's nice to have a vet that actually cares for for your animals and loves them & treats animals and owners with compassion. If your looking for a good vet that truly cares give Trickum Ridge Animal Hospital a try, I think you will be happy with them. I love the fact that they actually care for your babies as much as you do. It was as hard for Dr. T to have to put Stormy to sleep as it was for us. Harley my 3 year old went a few weeks ago for his yearly exam and had a ear infection they had to clean and pack his ears with a antibiotic medication and he went back End of last week for check up. Plus my 14 year old Golden Border Collie Mix, Gizmo went same day for his yearly exam and bloodwork since he is on medication for severe arthritis in his back legs, hip and lower back. He is actually doing much better with medication they have him on so very happy with his treatment plan & how they always call to checkup on your babies! They were great! So much better than my last vet. I was able to get an appointment very quickly, and when I showed up I didn't have to wait long with my cat in the waiting room. The staff was knowledgable, friendly and professional. My cat was terrified of the last vet, but these guys were able to see to her effectively without making her uncomfortable. I went to have my dear rat Mika put to sleep, the experience was very good, they have a a room that you can go in to sit with your animal while they are put to sleep. They make clay paw prints as a keep sake. It was VERY pleasant, the staff is very nice and sweet, everyone was telling me "I'm so sorry for your loss" I didn't say anything but I appreciated it so much. I had my other rat put to sleep at another vet and it was not good, I didn't get to go in with her. but they did sent a sympathy card to my house which as nice, but over all the Tricum Animal Hospital is the best I've ever been to. The doctors are very nice, there is a young man and he is so sweet and you can tell he loves animals. We've brought our Peekapoo Scarlette here since we moved to Woodstock last year and we've been very happy with the care. Recently I got a new Labradane named Boomer and they saw him the same day when we walked in hoping to get a appointment. The assistants are always sweet to our dogs and the Vet is kind and very informative. They answer all our questions and helped us to get the right dosage for Boomer as he's gaining weight so fast. My two chihuahuas come here for their dreaded annual.  They dread it, I  only dread the bill.  They are very nice, informative, and always willing to slip you in.  They are priced Higher than other vets in the area.  17 greenbacks for a small dog nail clipping.  Ouch!  They do it very quickly though so I pay it.  Every time I've gone the vet takes her time with my pups and answers all my questions. We feel very confident in the abilities of the office staff, veterinarians and groomer, Ms Jo. A few years ago we had a very troubled, frightened dog who was aggressive whenever we brought him in for medical care or grooming. Dr. Baker refused to muzzle him & was always able to calm him and provide the care that he needed. She truly went "above & beyond" in giving him loving, professional care. Our last stay (10 days) here was a disaster! After we picked up our dogs ( 2 Boston Terriers) we found that one had acquired a definate fear of ANYONE wearing black pants and this includes US. He wouldn't respond to us at all and cowered away. When we changed the pants, everything was fine. I can only assume that he was severly abused by someone at this facility wearing black pants. Phone calls to the owner of the company were diverted to someone lower down the food chain. He obviously has no interest in customer satisfaction. Being unable to contact the owner who hopefully has the power to correct this situation leaves us no alternative other than to rate this company UNACCEPTABLE and recommend that you find alternative pet care.
