My parents had gone to Aina Haina Pet Hospital with their cat, and seemed pretty happy with the service there, but I have to say, I am not. Dr. Takayama once looked at a lump on my dog's neck and called it something like "benign tumor", then prescribed some expensive medicine to get rid of it. At the next appointment, he examined it, and seeing it, he didn't appear to remember the prescription, as he called the ex-lump a "skin tag". On another occasion, he insisted on having a part of the dog's eyelid removed, because he thought it was encroaching on her eye (it was actually scar tissue from the cat scratching her when she was a puppy). Just in case, we went through with the surgery, but I have photos that show she's long had that bit of skin and Dr. Takayama took years to notice it. The best part of this place is the staff. They are very understanding, friendly, and helpful. My dog gets incredibly nervous and antsy when she goes to the vet, but the staff members are able to handle her and get along with her very well. Whenever I go to AHPH, I am always happy to see the vet techs and receptionists, and making appointments is absolutely no trouble at all. It's also a good place to get things like flea medicine and dog/cat food, and the staff can help you with that as well--they are very knowledgable. They are the reason I am giving AHPH four stars. I cannot put into words how great they are. Read Less
