We just got our kitten and since we're military we're not familiar with veterinarians out here. I checked some places on google and we decided to give this place a shot since it had a lot of positive reviews. The vet is rude and has a language barrier. We couldn't understand a word! One star for the front staff for being helpful and nice. This place is (according to the front desk) one of the few places that perform ear cropping on dogs. THIS PROCEDURE SHOULD BE ILLEGAL! I don't understand how people can be so cruel and decide to crop their dogs ears when nothing's wrong with them!! If you want a dog with different ears, get a breed that already has the desired ears instead of hurting a poor dog! This is abuse and I don't support any of that. The office ladies are so friendly and very knowledgeable. They work really fast and try not to make their furry friends wait too long, they are a really busy facility. They run out of a house at the bottom level. The parking is very limited and the facility itself is very small. We took our Doberman puppy to get her ears cropped and we were nothing but satisfied with the service and outcome. I would recommend dr. Myatt and his clinic if you want ear cropping. Read Less

If I could put 0 stars I would. I really tried to like this place, really try to trust them. I don't know how they receive such high reviews, the vet is rude and he has a language  barrier (which is fine, but he snaps at you if you just ask for him to repeat himself or explain). I feel like when I call, front desk rush me of the phone, I am aware of the great call volume they are receiving, but the manners are not there. The vet had been instructed to cut my dogs nail, and he made her paw bleed 4 times. I showed concern and he snapped at me saying he's already putting medicine. Also, this doctor failed to inform me about my dogs other issues; she had pneumonia. WHO DOES THAT. He did not treat my dog with care or priority when with her. If you are going to be an in and out vet, fucking let us know you won't be as thorough. I am aware that other people have had better experiences, they love the front staff. But I'm telling you, I don't get it. They do not give out a welcoming vibe, neither the doctor. Nor is he forthcoming with information if your dog. He seems to be a quick fix, right there person. I could of been a better pet owner by not bringing her here (I will have to live with that)  but they could've been better. I will never recommend you guys. Best Vet clinic on the island. Quality care for both my small pets that had dental work done with extractions & cleanings. The front desk was very helpful with questions on price & friendly. The Veterinarian had great bed side manner with the animals & respectful to me the owner as well as my husband that was there for consultation. Terry was awesome as well & very knowledgeable & sweet. I would highly recommend this place for any pet care because they are efficient & most affordable. There may be a language barrier with the Vet however he is more than willing to explain procedures etc if you are willing to listen & ask questions. Read Less

We've been taking our dogs to Kokua Pet Clinic for 10 years and we've been happy with Dr. Myatt and his staff. Dr. Myatt is a very straightforward person which I appreciate but I think that may get interpreted as rude for some people. He's very caring toward my dogs and that's what's more important to me. The plus is that the costs are less than other clinics we've been to. We've gone for routine things and surgery and all has gone well every time. The staff is always very helpful and I never feel rushed out of there. I like that it's walk in because I can be flexible with my schedule. Read Less

I took a chance with coming to here because I read many of the comments and I figured I'd give them a try since other clinics had negative comments too. Also, I wasn't really comfortable with the two other clinic I tried earlier in the year. Nothing bad, just unimpressed with their services and staff. The Kokua Clinic was homey, spotless, and smelled good-- better than others I've taken my pets to. (Maybe some of the Yelp comments helped improve the environment.) I liked Dr. Myatt's honesty and directness--he didn't mince words and I enjoyed having that kind of productive discussion where I can bombard them with questions. His staff is excellent too. Being the paranoid hypochondriac that I am, I did a google search and found a rare disease that I convinced myself my cat had. Fortunately, he didn't have that (only fleas, thank God) but one of the vet techs named Terry was interested and ask to read the article that I brought in with me. They seem interested in you and your pet and I really like the fact that they only accept walk ins because sometimes I don't know how cooperative my cat will be getting into his carrier which can be quite an ordeal for both of us if I have to chase him around the house. I hope I don't have to take him in again and that he stays healty, but if he does need medical care, I will definitely go back to Kokua Pet Clinic. Ladies at the front desk were very nice.  It's the doctor I had a problem with.  He doesn't speak English well and not in complete sentences.  He mumbles and acts bothered when I asked questions.  His demeanor is very rough around the edges.  My cat was sick and so I took her to him for two visits (the second b/c she was declining) and he just says a few words, gives me more meds (not labeled by the way but just some chicken scratch writing on an envelope).  He is an older gentleman and seems like maybe he doesn't enjoy his job.  I found another vet who gave me a second opinion and it was like night and day the time spent and info given.  I'm not sure how people gave good reviews here on this doc.  I would not recommend. Kokua Pet Clinic is a low priced walk in veterinary service. They have scheduled surgery in the afternoon, which makes their walk in hours queer. Because of this, I find myself always needing service right when they are closed. If my dog hurts herself, having to wait hours for them to reopen is not an option. For Minor mishaps Cocojor has been invaluable. I enjoy their services most for known appointments, such as flight preparation. Read Less

My beautiful German Shepard/Greyhound mix had got what looked like a large blood blister on her ear. I was worried and i didn't know where to go. I took her to a vet close to home and they charged me over $100 to just look at it and tell me what was wrong. Then my neighbor told me about Kokua. For the surgery that was gonna cost me over $700 plus follow up visits and medican at additional charge i ended up paying around $500 and all the follow-up visits were included in that price. I will never take any of my dogs anywhere else! They are definately the best priced vet on the island!! And the staff is so nice they are always answering my questions and they don't act like its a big inconvience to do so. I recommend them to every on i meet who has pets. Read Less

I found Kokua Pet Clinic online. My dog had abscessed teeth and needed oral surgery. The Kaneohe VCA was very expensive and so I put off getting my dog worked on. I love my dog but pay cuts don't leave me any choice. Do I put my dog down because she needs dental work? So I researched online and found Kokua. It cost much less than VCA, and the vet was quick and didn't hit me with unnecessary tests for my dog. She got her teeth worked on and so far is recovering nicely. I can understand why Kaneohe was so expensive...they are open all the time for emergencies and they have a huge facility so their overhead must be astronomical. The Kokua Clinic staff were helpful and friendly and the facility was clean ( I don't know why the one reviewer criticized the cleanliness of the place). Kokua cost was so much less, thankfully I was able to afford care for my dog. I bought my dog 10 years ago as a puppy and money was not as tight as it is now. I'll bet a lot of people are making hard decisions about care for their pets these days. Kokua made it easier. Read Less
