Pretty disappointing. The vet decided to leave in the middle of the day and reschedule our visit to a later time. Their staff never got our phone number in the first place so they couldn't let us know. I'm not sure why the vet had to leave in the middle of the day, but if I couldn't contact a customer I'd have kept the original appointment. I hope it was important whatever it was. Read Less

I took my cat in to have his teeth cleaned.  My previous vet clinic the Honolulu Pet Clinic with Dr Kondo who you never get to see because there is always someone else in his place told me he needed cleaning and teeth removed and quoted me a cost of $535 to $1853.00. I felt that I needed a second opinion though I had been going to HPC for the last 5 years with my two cats. I went to The Pet Doctor and saw Dr Ako who is the only vet that sees your pet and he and his staff made a immediate impression on me as caring about your pets and no bulls..t..  By going to Dr Ako my pets teeth were cleaned and no teeth pulled as it was not needed boy what a difference in the cost Hundreds of dollars less than the HPC would have charged me and they would have pulled my pets teeth when not needed.  I would recommend The Pet Doctor to anyone who cares about their pets.Aloha Read Less

Absolutely great staff, altho the Doctor could use a bit more tack in mannerisms. Their free clinics are a dream, but I think because the Cat place that saves 500 HOMELESS CATS FUND THE VET TO COME HERE we are very lucky to have a vet coming here, so they can fix all those useless animals that need shelter and care. Firstly Dr Ako is a really nice vet, very personable and seems to have brilliant knowledge. HOWEVER!! They say they cost less than everywhere else, but they lie, I have NEVER, EVER been charged for my dog to have its nails clipped on a check up, so I got charged for the check up, which is fine, but then the vet tech asked me if I wanted her nails trimmed, of course I said yes, then I was billed $15 for it!!! no warning, the vet tech didn't mention a charge... overall very dishonest and disappointing.
