I go here for my two dogs and cat. They are always very sweet and helpful. They answer every question I have and give me the best product for them. They also remember me and my pets too. A couple of times I have came in with my cats kennel and a dog or two dogs in my arms (I don’t trust them walking in the busy parking lot) everytime they offer to help me with my pets to my car no matter how far away I park. We were at Fur and Feather for 2 hours just to get routine shots for our two cats. The exam room where we waited with our cats was about 60degrees. My wife and I froze our asses off for the first hour waiting for the doc to come in. We then waited another hour huddling together on one chair to stay warm until the doc returned with the shots and results from worm tests. This place feels like a prison, is extremely pricey and treats their customers like crap. We won't be returning, stick with Makai vet clinic. Read Less

Whichever lady veterinarian that working the graveyard shift around 2 am helped me tremendously in dealing with my kitten's pyrethrin poisoning over the phone. Another emergency veterinarian place that I called would've required me to call poison control (PC) services and pay PC's fee so that PC could tell the veterinarian team at that place what they needed to do to treat the poisoning. The doctor at Feather & Fur, on the other hand, immediately knew what I was talking about, gave out a detailed treatment plan (if her assessment of the cat matched the diagnosis) of what she would do if I brought my cat in, and gave honest rates & costs that would've been associated with it. When I told her I'd improvise off of her treatment plan, she was rightly concerned and caring enough to make sure I knew I could come in or call at any time if things took a turn for the worse. Even though I never went in, I was able to to stop my kitten's tremors and stiff limbs going off of her hypothetical in-patient treatment plan. Hours later, he's now back to hopping around and walking about...in fact, as I was typing this, he brought in a rat he caught outside... I've been rambling too much, but this veterinarian with 15 years of experience at Feather & Fur really cares for animals and has the knowledge and know-how to help them. The best animal hospital on the island! The care is exceptional and they are incredibly affordable for the range of services they provide. I foster kittens and knowing the staff and Doctors are there 24/7 to answer my questions is a huge blessing. They are all so kind and their office and exam rooms are very clean and decorated nicely. A huge thank you to their staff for currently helping me with my 10 day old foster kitty. I am so excited for my cat from the mainland to come over and be a new patient at Feather and Fur. I drove there all the way from Hawaii Kai, right past two (probably more)other vets, and I'm so incredibly glad I made the hour long drive! These professionals are amazingly compassionate, helpful, generous, and friendly. I've had a few pets in my life (I'm in my 40's) and have been to several different vets, I must say, this by far, is the nicest, most compassionate and wonderful clinic I've EVER been to. We had noticed that our guinea pig, Thor, had a large (walnut size) growth coming from his shoulder.  We rushed him in as soon as we saw it (8pm).  They were able to see us with very little wait time.  The doctor gave us her diagnosis and plan.  They were able to remove the growth that night and we were able to pick him up the next day.The team members that we worked with that night were amazing!  From Dr. MacGregor, Arizona (Vet Tech) and reception desk, ALL were understanding of our concerns and fears of having our Thor in for surgery.We went back a day later because we had more concerns.  Dr. MacGregor and another vet tech (bummed we didn't get her name), were very helpful again!I give Feather and Fur 5 stars because:*The entire staff we worked with  were helpful, caring and understanding.*They are open 24 hours!*They genuinely care about their patients and their families. scary night for me and my family. we love our pets almost as much as we love our kids. and when we have a late night emergency, we can now rest assured there is a 24 HOUR pet hospital!we had that emergency tonight, with our pet bird, and we saw Dr Nakashima. we were seen promptly, with no appointment. the explanation and conversation we had with the doctor was clear and honest, with no surprises. although this pet hospital cant make an injury go away, it was very comforting to know that service was and is available on short notice.  we received options and communicated well with the doctor our concerns, which Dr Nakashima then accommodated and we found a solution. the front desk could have been more friendly and compassionate. they were a little cool, but were not cold or rude - just not warm or kind. i suppose as long as they're good with animals, its okay with me. i hope I never need to come here for an emergency again, and I hope you dont need to either, but I would not hesitate to drive from town to Kailua again if necessary. based on this first experience, i can recommend this pet hospital without hesitation. Took my cat in for fur loss and patching areas. Saw Dr. Pressler who was the night Vet on that particular day. Her comments after looking at my cat, flea problem (I saw one flea) of which she suggested a stronger flea medication. I observed cat for about three months and fur loss got worse. Made appointment to bring cat back for answers, told staff member on the phone that I wanted to bring cat in but was not willing to pay for a second office visit since first one was incorrect. Staff member said that it was up to the Dr. to charge for her time, I said then have her call me so I can discuss that with her. Dr. Never called to discuss. A month or so has gone by and problem still persist. Made another appointment to see Dr. Pressler and told the staff member the same thing. She said she would have Dr. Pressler call me to go over this situation. Dr. Pressler never called. Now I am in the service industry business and have my own company. If I go to repair your electrical short in your home and the problem persist and I have to come back to check another solution to your short would you be happy if I charged you again for the service call if I didn't diagnose the short the first time or second time or third time. Well, I wouldn't charge you the second or third time for the service call, but if I used parts that I didn't use the first time then yes I would charge you, but in all fairness if I didn't fix it right the first time, then I would have to keep on it until it is fixed because that is my profession that's why I have the license for that skill. Now if you called me and wanted me to call you back to discuss your electrical issue I would definitely call you back and see what 's going on. I wouldn't be concerned about the service charge to come back and look at a problem I didn't fix. And thats what I told the staff member on the phone why I feel I shouldn't have to pay for another visit. But no return call from Dr. Pressler. Read Less

I live on Laie Point. Last night I heard a girl screaming and crying because she hit a cat. I assumed the cat passed away. A few minutes later I was headed to the store and I passed the cat. It was a kitten. It's sibling was with it and the sibling ran under a fence. The hurt kitty was moving and meowing. I'm not sure if anyone owns this kitty or the mother. I took the injured cat to Feather and Fur. I believe it was a stray since neighbors say it's momma runs around the Point. Hopefully this little fighter will be ok. If it lives, they said the humane society will take it. I know it'll get adopted fast if it was a stray. It was truly a sweet kitten. If it did pass away, then at least the vet helped it not feel more pain. I'm mad that the girl who hit the cat just left it there. Oh well. It's in good hands now. I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 because Feather and Fur aren't able to update me on the kitten's condition. I relinquished responsibility since I already have two fur babies and can't have another. I still wished I knew the cat's condition. I'm a huge animal lover and care so much. When I lived in Los Angeles I rescued an injured bird. I took it to a vet and they were able to update me and fortunately the bird lived and got released.Read Less

We had amazing care for our 3 cats , one spent the night after a stroke.another one was hospitalized 3 days after a upper respiratory infection, he was so well cared for, everyone in the clinic did everything they could to save them. They both made it ok and they are just shy of their 18th Birthday. I wouldn't go to any other vet as long as I live here on Oahu ! They are truly the best + the fact that they are open 24/7 all year around is just a huge peace of mind for us, knowing that our cats are so old ! Read Less

Terrible, money grabbing organization. We brought our pets in here and the receptionist had an appalling attitude, then after a while the doctor came out and also had an appalling attitude. We had gone here for a while but after this experience we will never come back. It's better to go to VCA where they at least try to pretend to care about your pets instead of the money. I really truly had a great experience with dr. Katie there with my parrot Manakea, I knew that I was taking very good care of him and he was okay but he has a feather picking problem and the problem is because Mom has been so sick for the last how many years already that every time we get separated we both have separation anxiety attacks he was his father's I just stress out my mind trying to find any way possible to get back home and then he's very happy that I'm home. So now he's going to be on happy pill medication for a little while and dr. Katie was very thorough about examining him he's at his right wait it's actually in top shape and his birthday is Sunday so now that we know that he's all good I Think Jesus every day for his good health and the way he takes care of me and Manakea everyday! Came into the clinic early one morning for an emergency situation with my bird. The staff immediately assisted me and were very responsive to my bird's needs. Dr. Mina carefully listened to my concerns and provided me with helpful information that assisted me in making the appropriate treatment decision/plan for my bird. My husband brought my dog there last night and they helped save my dog after she bit a bufo toad. They didn't waste any time once my husband got her there. They immediately got her in the back and started treating her. I'm grateful for the staff taking good care of her. They also provided my husband with all the information she needs for our big move out of state. The pricing was extremely reasonable and the staff was great to my husband and our dog. About 4-5 months ago, my pet rabbit was exhibiting signs of severe illness and was sick to the point that he could barely move around the house by himself. Fairly late into the night, I took him to a nearby 24-hour animal hospital and was told that nobody on-staff could see "exotic" pets after hours; they referred me to Feather and Fur. As soon as I brought him in, I was amazed at the professionalism, competence, and compassion of the staff here. He spent almost three days recovering at Feather and Fur, and I was called with an update on his status at least once (usually twice) a day. I was given updates every step of the way and was presented with treatment options in a clear and easy-to-understand manner. I can honestly say that my rabbit is currently an alive-and-well 5-year-old primarily due to the people at Feather and Fur. Read Less

This place came as recommendation by another vet for exotic or small animals. My girlfriend brought her guinea pig here to consult with the vet if a blood test was recommended to check up on his health. The vet on staff assured us that the sedation and test itself was very heart friendly and very risk free. After quoting us about $450, my girlfriend decides she wants to do it in the best interest of her pet. After waiting for about 2 hours the vet comes out to tell me that they over sedated him and gave him something to come out of it. 30 minutes later they bring him out and say that he should be about back to normal within a few hours. He was not eating or returning to his normal active self so my girlfriend called the vet again for suggestions and monitored him all night. She brought him back first thing the next morning and they gave him a water injection and critical care food saying that he's no longer sedated but simply feeling the after effects. That night I get a call from her family saying that he suddenly died despite all the care and attention that the family was giving him. I am sad, pissed, and in complete shock of how this all turned out. We are waiting on a call from the manager tomorrow morning to see how they respond to this outrage. This happened on Monday night, it's now Thursday and still no call with any answers. Read Less

I had an emergency with my cat and my regular vet was closed. Their answering machine referred me to Feather & Fur. I had never been there before and had always taken my animals to the emergency vet in Kaneohe when I had an emergency. Feather & Fur was by far the better choice, even if I lived in Kaneohe I would have brought her here. My cat was seen by a veterinarian immediately and cared for. The staff is friendly and helpful. The follow up to my visit was impeccable, with a telephone call the next day to check the status and a follow up appointment for an ultrasound. THEN they followed that up with another call. I love my veterinarian and will continue to take my animals there, but for any emergency Feather & Fur is the place to go. If you have recently moved here and are looking for a vet I would highly recommend Feather & Fur. Read Less
