They always care for Gucci like if it's their own dog. I drive all the way from the other side of the island just to make sure she gets the love and care she needs. The staff here are fantastic. My two doggies are always very excited to see the front staff and doctors. They treat our animals like they were their own. Parking here sucks though. So if the shopping center is busy, parking can be a pain. Read Less

I'm so impressed Haiku Vet Clinic. Dr. Amanda Dale and the front staff are so nice & friendly. I had been with another Pet Clinic for almost 20 years & needed dental work on my 8 yr.old dog, but always nervous to put him under. I took advantage of a free visit coupon & Dr. Dale made me feel at ease,was friendly, honest, knowledgeable and so gentle with my Louie. He was so nervous getting a shot & clipping his nails, they had 2 gentle helpers comforting him the whole time. T...hey even gave us samples for finicky eaters,when I didn't even ask!! Top Notch Service - Grooming & Vet care .... I've been bringing my furbaby, Rocky, to Haiku since the day I got him. It's been 4 years and we are so happy with the care and services that Haiku has provided us. If you are looking for a groomer that loves animals and truly cares about her trade, check out Mindy! I would never take my pup to anyone else but her. She's been so sweet to Rocky and means a lot because he's not a very trusting dog. It took a little bit of time for them to develop a relationship but it's one I never want to see end. She loves Rocky like her very own. For me, that is priceless. Read Less

Awesome!!!!! I have been taking my pets here for years. The Veternarians and Staff are incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, courteous, Amazing with my Pets. My cat Mele loves Dr. DeLisle. Dr. DeLisle is relatively new to the clinic but she is Amazing!!! Patient, Kind, Very Gentle and Caring with Mele. I also bring my 2 kittens Baby and Chanel to Dr. DeLisle thier interaction is beautiful... it is nice to find a Vet that my Pets are comfortable with. The entire Clinic and staff gets 10 Stars!!!!!! Staff are really nice and friendly, the place is clean. However, the one thing that really bothered me was when they charged me to take a stool sample from my dog and they didn't even tell me I'd be charged. Yeah sure ok I probably should've known that procedures always come with a fee.. but damn 1) how am I supposed to know that simply sticking a stick up my dogs butt would cost me and 2) at least have the decency to tell me how much things will be before you go ahead and do it. This place IS expensive but they did provide good treatment for my dog which was the main concern. Just remember to ask how much everything will be before your bill ends up being $400+ :)OH! And don't waste your money getting a lepto shot from them either. They also failed to tell me that it only protects my dog 10%. ...... 10% people. Not even half!!!!! If you really want the shot you can get it cheaper from other places like Petco! Read Less

It is with very mixed emotions that I write this review. This vet clinic has always been there for me in the past. They provide excellent care and follow up by regular phone calls.  I have had three dogs under their care for the last 7 years.  Unfortunately, when those 3 dogs were breathing their last breath, I had to go to another vet because Haiku was not available. This was especially difficult two weeks ago when my 5 year old Maltese became very ill. He had just been there three weeks prior (Sept 2016) for his annual checkup. His usual vet, Dr. Ellison, was not available, so Dr. Dale did the exam. In my opinion, the exam was much less thorough than the ones Dr. Ellison had done. It was brief, impersonal and with much less hands- on checking. My dog got his shots (lepto and kennel cough) and we went on our way. About three weeks later, my dog got very ill... behavior totally changed, he was crying when touched, trembling and having trouble walking. Haiku gave us an appt the next day, again with Dr Dale. She thought he might have strained a muscle jumping around or something and sent us home with pain pills (that cost twice as much as on the internet).  Over the next two days  he got much worse and Haiku had no openings to see him for 3 days.... he had deteriorated so much, and I was afraid to wait, so we went elsewhere. Long story short... my dog had GME (encephalitis) and had to be put to sleep after two days of intensive care in the hospital (elsewhere).  I do not feel that my dog got good care at Haiku...i feel like they misdiagnosed and put us off. I informed them of his passing and there has been no calls or notes of sympathy like other vets do. Not even a call from his groomer, Mindy, that we saw there every 8 weeks for 5 years... After researching the vaccinations he got, I regret being told he had to have them. The vet never explained the risks or had me sign a consent form or told I had other options like titer testing. That would be the least they could have done.   Very heartbroken and abandoned. If I had been informed of the dangers of certain vaccines or of having too many shots at one time,  my dog might still be here in my arms today. Read Less

I wish the vets would inform us of the risk of GME before they give our pets vaccinations. my 5 year old Maltese died of GME one month after getting his annual vaccines. no one ever spoke to me about risks or asked my consent before injecting him. Read first visit free. Decided to have my dog year check-up as I had always taken him to a competing vet. I had heard good things about Haiku. Man was i so very disappointed. The FREE visit cost me over $350.00 and again 2 weeks later an ear mite follow-up of over $200.00 for the love of my pet am severely charged and all hidden fees in an invoice AFTER paying for FREE visit. Shame on you Haiku. Will be going back to a vet who I know already is over priced. Had to see them trying to get blood from my poor dog in about 6 attempts and several tecs later. Read Less

This was my first time visiting a vet, and I must say it was a great experience since the staff was very friendly. They gave us great tips for raising a puppy, and answered all of our questions with the knowledge you would expect from professionals in their field. They were very accommodating with our little puppy, giving him snacks and keeping him calm while they performed their checks. They also gave us a nice goodie bag with some pamphlets, heart-worm, flea and tick medication, along with a small bag of dog food to try out. Awful, I am so disappointed with this clinic, they just want your money, they don't care about the pets, they sent a lot of testing that your pet don't need and after they tell you how much is going to be, they charge more, they tell you one price and when everything is done, they charged almost a 100 more without a good reason. My dog Bonzai saw Dr Chun for a broken duclaw. The Dr & staff were super friendly. They saw her very quickly & he quickly resolved the problem. I was worried she would have to be numbed up 1st & it took him just s second to pull it off & stop it bleeding. They even clipped her other nails. They were so nice & didn't let her BG mouth bother them. I love this clinic they are my new forever vets. Read Less

I've taken my dog Kiwi to Haiku Vet from the beginning. She is 8 now and enjoys her visits to the vet and their friendly staff. I request Dr. Dale if available, she is professional and knowledgeable. Kiwi has also had acupuncture from Dr. Elsion when she was a pup and injured her leg. I've have definitely recommended Haiku vet to others and will continue to do so. Read Less

Haiku vet clinic is the best! Every time we visit, we receive a warm welcome. They are very gentle with my precious aussie puppy. The staff seem to really enjoy their job and give all animals so much attention and love. My puppy always enjoys his time here even though he's getting shots! Haiku vet clinic even calls you a day before your appointment as a reminder. The staff even provides you with a folder full of local emergency vet clinics, pet care tips, local obedience classes, etc. It's wonderful! Read Less

The staff at Haiku Veterinary Clinic are WONDERFUL. They have been my go to vet's for my 2 cats & now my new Labradoodle puppy. My Abyssinian cat Koa was diagnosed with diabetes when he was quite old & they helped me tirelessly with him until the end. I could not have asked for a more compassionate group of professionals to have on my side. I have also utilized their boarding services while on vacation, there is not as much room as at a cattery or kennel but they looked after my cat like he was their own. They also gave me advice regarding my new puppy & have treated my family (both 2 & 4 legged members) like their family. I have no hesitation in recommending their services. Read Less

My wife and I have been taking or two cats to Haiku Vet Clinic for about the last 9 years.  They have always been very accommodating and helpful.  It is hard to find a vet you can trust and I'm happy to say that we have never questioned that trust with Haiku.Over the years we have had to bring our furry friends here for all sorts of issues big and small.  They have always been up for the job.  One of our cats is quite old and I have always been afraid to take him in for anything major.  Even when he had to have a tube put in his chest we were confident that our old boy was receiving the best of care.There is always the issue of price when choosing a vet.  Haiku is certainly not the cheapest clinic out there.  That being said I would never be comfortable sending our furry friends to the cheapest vet in town.  I feel they have pretty reasonable pricing for the level of care given.After reading some of the negative reviews I felt that it was necessary for me to share my experiences.  I totally get that people have different experiences but my experience has been consistently positive. After a long search, we're finally settling with Haiku Vet. Since I move to Kaneohe few years ago, I have been searching for a good one. Now, after a year+ and numerous visits, I feel very happy and comfortable to have my pets (3 cats and a dog) there. Although the price can be high at times (as per usual for vet visits anywhere), haiku vet is more decent priced comparing to other clinics. At least the vet doesn't try to up sale the service by suggesting 20 other tests to do on a pet, or supplements to buy (like this other clinic I've experienced prior to this). I started to see the clinic different after one particular event: Everyone at Haiku had witnessed my older dog, Lulu's passing. During that difficult time, they spent time to call and double check on not only Lulu, but also the wellbeing of the owners. Because she was so ill, doctors were even giving me personal numbers so that in case anything happens on Sunday, which is the only day they are closed, I could contact her. Unfortunately, Lulu passed away on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Yet, with one phone call to the vet, almost everyone available was involved in helping us going through the toughest part of it all. Even now, on a regular visit, I would still get calls to double check on my pet(s), and get calls to remind me it's time for the flea medicine. I especially appreciated the doctor's calling since she always spend time to explain what's going on. That alone is a comfort to an owner of a sick pet. Our family vet is Dr. Dale; a wonderful doctor who's always gentle on my babies. I've also had Dr. Nunan, who was the main caretaker before and during Lulu's passing. And all the staff at Haiku Vet are wonderful. I got the sorry for your loss card and Christmas card from them...on top of their generosity and friendliness every time. Highly recommend. :) Read Less

Not recommended by many of our friends. Customer service is not that great. Our pom had a bad experience with them when the breeder used to take her before we got our pom. She seemed traumatized whenever nails had to be trimmed so we now go to Feather and Fur which is super great! Prices are moderate to expensive for level of service Read Less

I'm new to Kaneohe and have been taking my dog here for less then 2 months. My min pin needed to have surgery for his cancerous mass on his leg. They did a great job on the surgery and his stitches were well done and he was awake and alert when I went to get him. What was less then satisfactory was that I had to wait to drop him off for his appointment. Surgery appt's need to be dropped off between 8-830am so they have time to do the surgery. Totally fine with me. I show up a few minutes after 8am to find the staff sitting outside the clinic without a key to open up. I wait till nearly 9am till a worker with a key finally shows up. This particular worker wasn't even scheduled to start work until 930am. I realize mix up's happen and I let it go. I just hung out with the workers who were apologetic and very nice. I go to pick my dog up after the surgery and take him home. I then come in a week later for our follow up visit and inquire about his xrays that were suppose to be taken during his surgery. Turns out the vet forgot to do them until after the surgery was over. Really?! So luckily the xrays turn out to be clean so there was no harm done and the vet apologizes and comps the xray bill. Totally fine. Shit happens. Another week goes by and we have to return to the vet to have his stitches pulled out. Here is where I get pissed off. I go in on a Sunday (no knowing until I get there that there is a different vet on staff for Sundays) and see the vet. He, Dr. Chung, starts removing my dog's stitches while a vet tech holds my dog down. No pain meds, no numbing, no nothing. My poor dog is shaking through it all and fighting to get away from them. I'm not happy and spend another $150 on meds on top of the $1700 surgery bill. I get home. I check on my dog and apply the necessary medications. Guess what? THEY FORGOT STITCHES IN HIM! I have to call the clinic and make another appt to come back for the exact same thing for their incompetence! Does anyone apologize? NO. The receptionist and vet don't bother to acknowledge putting my dog through more pain, inconveniencing me for another fricken appointment, or that they made any mistake at all in leaving stitches in my dog. I don't think I will be returning. I personally like the vet Dr. Amanda Dale and she speaks directly to you with eye contact and stops whatever she is doing when you have a question for her. The staff is a little hit or miss. For the most part they are very friendly but one of the women in there is really snobby and treats the patients and other workers with contempt. Overall I had too many bad experiences here to be happy with the quality of this clinic. Read Less

Groomer Mindy is very good. She is an excellent groomer, but it is very expensive 60.00 to groom a small dog. You have to bring your dog in at a certain time, which is inconvenient. Good but too expensive. Read Less

Mindi, the groomer at Haiku Vet is simply AMAZING!  I've been to many groomers but finally found someone I can really trust my dog with.  I took my dog to her today and she pointed out to me that my dog had some kind of infection on his paws.  I would never have known.  She pays attention to details which is absolutely amazing to me. The other groomers just do their job and don't go the extra mile.She has a lovely personality, very kind and understanding.  She listens to what you want and are not be offended with your suggestions or comments.  She's such a warm person and truly loves animals.  To me, she is the best groomer I've ever had! We were at Haiku for years, then moved from Kaneohe so we had not been there for some time.  I brought Copper and Lily  there for the groomer Mindy who I had heard about.  I have tried every groomer on the windward side, and habe been disappiointed. In fact my dogs actually hated it because of one specific incident with a Kailua groomer.Mindy was amazing. A true animal lover. This woman spent $7000 for her cat to live if that gives any indication of how much she lives animals. And what is awesome is she loves YOUR animals.  Normally when i pick them up they are running towards me ready to go home. My dogs loved her, I had to pull them away, they  were ready to trade me in and  go home with her, the little traitors!It was the most expensive groom I have had in comparison but hands down the best!She is adorable and I bet my dogs won't be doing the walk of doom next time I bring them in!
