Top Notch! My dogs, both Chihuahuas were both had excellent care before, during and after insemination, including pregnancy and delivery. They take my calls and return my calls. No sound of impatient tone, as when I am worried I can be a pest. They have been very patient with me and my moody male dog. They send reminder text and do not forget to call me if they need something. During normal business hours I am not passed over to another vet which makes me feel secure. The vet, Dr Hisanaga came in on his day off to do the insemination and stayed until I came, to deliver the pup. He is normally gone by then. I came in around 8:30p, she delivered around 10p, he talked to me about the delivery and after care until 11p. This showed me he truly care. It's a very long drive from my home ( 45 min to an hour +) and I am torn between my loyalty to my normal vet and changing over to him. :{ Read Less

Great people that seem to care a great deal for the pets they take care of. One negative is boarding. They do not charge for 24 hours but days which routinely cost one additional day charges for each boarding we do. Example. Drop off pet in the afternoon on Friday and pick up in the late morning of Sunday. They charge for Friday, Saturday and Sunday when the pet is only there for two days. This policy is costly to customers, however convenient it may be for the bookkeeping on their side. Other than that, great place to have your pets cared for. Read Less

I was told about this place by my boss AL Garma. He took his puppy here so he told me I should consider coming here to get my new puppy her shots, etc. It was very easy to get here because we live Kunia, drove onto the H1 east, took the waikele waipahu cut off and turned into Waipahu and there it was, the Waipahu Waikele Pet Hospital. I made a last minute appointment because I wanted to make sure my puppy didn't have fleas, worms, etc. The workers are very nice and friendly, easy to approach and talk to. the worker on the phone (when I made the appointment) was also very helpful. The only thing I wish I did was ask how much it was to cut a puppy's nails, but It costed $14 to do so.. If I knew, I probably wouldn't have asked the doctor to cut them because it costs as much as buying a whole new nail/quick clipper and do it myself.Overall I really like this Pet Hospital, definitely recommend to people who want to get a check-up and medical help for your puppy. This place is open 24 hours (for pet emergency) and hours for check-up by a doctor is from 7am-8pm Mon-Sun. Hope we continue coming here because it's very close & convenient for us. Read Less

This place is amazing! I am always able to get an appointment and the staff is well educated. When my cat was sick they explored every option and when the end came the amount of compassion I received was overwhelming. Dr. Wong is by far my favorite! I'm been a customer here for a little over a year when I arrived on Island and haven't been disappointed. This place is a little out of my commute and I had so many other options but this place won me over. The Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Appointments are quick to get ahold of and even if there is no opening they will try everything they can to see and your furball quickly if not that day. Prices are reasonable and although a little more pricer than others your getting the best treatment and care here. I highly recommend this place if you want your pet in good hands. Parking lot is small and fills up quick and depending how others parked or waiting for a spot it could be a small hassle getting out. They also have a small section to buy treats, toys and food. This pet hospital has been a life send for both of my dogs when they were having medical issues. The staff that helped me on multiple occasions has always been warm and so welcoming treating us like family. The time, patience, and empathy we received at such odd hours like 12:00 at night was nothing short of amazing. I could never thank them enough for that support, because as most of us pet owners know our animals are not just pets their family and it's hard when they're not doing well. Also the cost for the procedures and check up with any of the their Veterinarians is always more than reasonable and you don't have to be afraid of that $1000.00 bill for just a simple check up. They are very thorough and take the time to really figure out what's going on and don't try to kick you out the door to get the next person in.          Also as a side note, when my older dog pasted away recently, and Waikele Pet Hospital was one of the few locations that actually provides cremation services for a few hundred bucks or more depending on the size of your dog (My dog was only 15lbs but don't quote me as prices may have changed since that time). Yet again their customer service and care they provided us during such a devastating period of my families life was nothing short of wonderful and so understanding.          Whether you live in this side of the island or not, this hospital is worth the drive if your far away, and just an amazing place to have your dog checked. Great facility, great staff and Dr Watanabe is so friendly and he is the best with our dogs! He laid on the floor the other day with our pug who had hurt his leg and was so gentle with him the entire time. During a yearly check-up, our Boston Terrier was licking Dr Watanabe's face SO much when he was listening to his heart but he just let him do it while keeping a big smile on his face! Good to see our dogs are very confortable around him. He is also very honest and doesnt try to charge us for things that are not needed (saved us $400 the other day when another vet recommended x-rays that were not necessary). Waipahu Waikele Pet Hospital Management Team, It would be appreciated if some sort of discount be offered to senior and military customers for their pet supplies. I purchase 24 lbs Metabolic+Mobility Canine dog food at $90.85 a bag every month and to receive a 10% discount would be a huge help financially. My husband and I are retired military local family and while we want to feed our pet, Anuhea a good diet food for her is becoming difficult financially. We will either have to resolve to finding another source to purchase her food or even change her diet even though we have always enjoyed doing business with your company. I took our six-year-old Golden Retriever there, in search of a 2nd opinion for what turned out to be a canceous skin tumor. I went to the Jade food Sale on Saturday. I saw your employees taking the dogs out for a walk. It was nice to see that the animals get some exercise to do their business. As a former dog owner I was extremely disappointed that the staff made no attempt to pick up after the dogs. I witnessed at least 5 places where the staff saw the dog do their business and continued on to take them back in the building. I also saw them letting the other dogs step on our even sit in the other dogs mess. There were alot of people in the area and i feel it was un professional to leave their droppings. Read Less

On May 22, 2009 at 5:22 pm we walked into Waipahu Leeward Veterinarian Clinic with Pikake Mochi for her first exam with Dr. Mellissa Yuen. Her kind, gentle, and compassionate attitude towards us made us feel very comfortable. The relationship that ensued was exceptional and unique. She was not only our Vet, but she became part of our family. A year later we adopted Pikakes mom, Pomu Latte, which made our family complete. We continued to see Dr. Yuen regularly and on occasions, Dr. Achiu. It was from that moment that we knew that this was the clinic for us. The location was convenient for us as we lived in Waipahu. Friends with pets who were clients would recommend this establishment . The friendliness and consideration we received from the management in the front was outstanding. Jen, Cindy V, Cindy L, Isabel, Melanie, Lynn, Latisha, and Leilani were just a few of the more than helpful and caring people there. The advice given and services rendered allowed us to be assured that our canine companions were well taken care of, which in turn calmed our hearts anytime we had to go to the Vet. It has been over 6 years with many changes since our first day there. The once homey and quaint office has a new location, new name, increased in physical size, and an expanded number of employees. We now see Dr. Dawn Morikami and Marissa frequently and on occasions Dr. Nagamine, Dr. Nashiro, Dr. Nagasako, and Dr. Yamasaki. The experiences weve had attending the clinic have so far resulted in positive outcomes. Whenever I call for an appointment, I generally get the desired time and day as I try to call in advance. Dr. Morikami has been more than supportive in addressing concerns, comments or questions by returning my calls promptly. Communication has been an essential component for us in our ever developing relationship with Dr. Morikami and Marissa. During emergencies, (in which our girls have had a few,) I felt the girls were thoroughly tended to under the circumstances. During the crisis, it was comforting to know that every effort was made to best to accommodate us. The charges for services rendered, we felt were reasonable. Weve been to other Veterinarians on Oahu, Maui, and the Big Island and found prices to be comparable. We try to anticipate for office visits in our regular monthly budget, be it for wellness maintenance or for future emergencies. We feel that our girls are a very important part of our family (never giving a second thought to their care and welfare). No amount of money can amount or compare to the unconditional love and impact Pikake and Latte has had and continue to have on our lives. We do our very best to maintain a positive attitude whenever we encounter visits at Waipahu Waikele Pet Hospital either planned or otherwise. We know many of our friends have had experiences with WWPH with opinions of their own. We feel in our hearts that each person at WWPH do their very best to service the pet parents of the community. We look forward to the years ahead with our girls reaching the ages of 7 years old (Pikake) and 11 years old (Pomu Latte) thus far. So with that said, we continue to recommend this organization to others in hopes that they too can share in what Waipahu Waikele Pet Hospital has to offer. We have been going to this hospital ever since the 1970s when they were located in their old Waipahu location. Dr Higa was the first vet we worked with and has since retired. I love this hospital! The staff and vetanarians are so compassionate and caring. Whenever I call, I get a friendly voice on the other line.
