If I could give this establishment zero stars, I would. I accompanied a good friend while she had to put her beloved dog to sleep. I've been through this process in the past with my own personal pets and while it is heart-wrenching and painful, it was very peaceful and calm. What I witnessed at this facility was absolutely traumatizing. I can't get the scenario out of my head, the damage is deep. The compassion was lacking from the very beginning. The vet (yes, VETERINARIAN) attempted to insert an IV into the front paw of the dog and failed. She dug around searching for a vain all while the poor dog was crying in pain. After putting the dog through the pain in a piss poor attempt to insert an IV, she then took him to another room for 25 minutes to insert a catheter. Once he was brought back, she then moved on to paw #2 inserting "part" of the final dose of medicine. After she discovered that the dose was not enough, she moved to paw #3 attempting to deliver the last and final fatal dose, the dog cried in pain as she removed the syringe leaving the needle in the paw, as the dog dropped and died in his owner's arms. As this whole event wasn't traumatic enough, the vet then paced around the room exclaiming "Oh my God, that was a lot more work than I have had to do putting down a horse." This seemed to be her justification for the horrible event. This appointment was very unorganized, as though they had never done this before. I am absolutely appalled and disgusted with this facility. I wouldn't wish this place on any pet owner or pet. Dr Saris takes time with me to understand what's going on with my dog, and doesn't push medications on me, preferring instead to let me know my options and decide for myself. She's wonderfully patient and her kind staff is always welcoming. There is no x-ray or other fancy equipment, so a relationship with a vet hospital may still be needed.Read Less

We have used Holistic Vets here and in Bend. Dr. Saras is always kind to them and doesn't look at your dog or cat like a cash machine as too many of the Clinics do here.If your pet needs a treatment and a $10 one will do, she isn't going to try and stick you with the $100 one. She doesn't do surgeries or emergency care, but she does most everything else. If she doesn't she will quickly tell you who is the best to do that treatment or procedure.We highly recommend her. Dr Saras and her staff are amazing! I had been going to one of the better known clinics in Boise and was never really happy with the experience. I have a sometimes nervous bully breed mix who has even been muzzled at another vet in town. Dr. Saras and staff gobbled my pup up with love and treats. They loved her right away and made me feel like I had the best dog in the world. They were non-stop sharing pet photos and stories, took a full 30 minutes of just  getting to know me and my dog. Where as the "other place" in town wanted to do a full allergy testing session on my dog for her itchy skin, Dr Saras recommended coconut oil, how reasonable! Dr. Saras and her tech staff (Linda and Jen) were INCREDIBLE! They took exceptional care of my 5 (almost 6) year-old yorkie who went in for his first dental. I was anxious because they have to use anesthetic for the procedure, but I had nothing to worry about because of their fantastic care. My dogs who take time to warm up to people already love them because they took the time to get to know them and give them treats and become friends rather than just jump right into an exam. By far the best vet clinic. The doctors approach to finding the root problem instead of treating only the symptoms is fantastic. She takes her time with diagnosis and treatment and teaches you to be patient in expecting results with your pet. Not everything is curable but I trust this doctor and her staff to find the best treatment to improve the animal's quality of life.Read Less

I love my holistic vet and her way of looking at health, disease and quality of life. She doesnt pretend to know everything and prefers to research things and get back to me when she feels she needs to learn more, check up on facts, or consult with another professional. She is great for advice on food, immune support and other things that matter for our companions on a daily basis as well as when they are sick. I have used her for common problems with my dogs and cats as well as acupuncture, allergies, and cancer treatment, and always felt well taken care of. Another plus is the relaxed atmosphere and lack of typical vet clinic smells that can make many pets nervous. I rate her "excellent" for her approach and care - not because she can create miracles, because she cannot, but she will be honest about that, too! Read Less
