I have been going to Bench Animal Hospital for years. I have had 4 cats and 2 dogs. I am down to one dog. I can't see me taking my loved pets anywhere else. The staff and doctors are all so great and caring. They really have tender loving care. I never feel rushed out or pressured to do any treatment I'm not sure about. Cost is very reasonable. My husband and I moved to the Boise Bench about a year ago from Meridian, along with our two dogs and a cat. Our previous Vet had given us an estimate for a surgical procedure for one of our dogs that seemed high, so we sought out a second opinion from the Bench Animal Hospital which is in proximity to our home. We were given an estimate that was about 75 percent less than the previous estimate, so we scheduled the urgent procedure immediately. It is our good fortune to say that the surgery was a complete success, and our dog has recovered nicely. We have since scheduled our other two pets for more routine services, and we have found that the Veterinarians at Bench Animal Hospital are extremely competent, with excellent bedside manner. Scheduling has been easy, and all services that we have obtained have been very reasonable. I am very grateful that I met the Office Manager, Joni, on the Facebook's Boise Bench Dwellers site. Since getting a dog 11 years ago, I've been to several vets in the Treasure Valley. Each has its pluses / minuses. I've chosen Bench Animal Hospital to be the primary vet for my pups for several reasons: 1. Dr. Rebekah Davis is knowledgeable, personable, and understanding. She talks WITH you, not down to you, partnering with you instead of lecturing you. 2. The pricing at this practice is very reasonable. Frankly, it's the best I've found. 3. The aides helping the doctors are also friendly and personable. There are some downsides, but in my opinion, they're tolerable. l 1. The practice is BUSY. Call, and you're going to be asked to be put on hold probably 75% of the time. (That said, think of a restaurant. If it's always busy, it means it's a good place!) 2. The waiting room is rather small, and the layout of the exam rooms being along a narrow path along the receptionist desk means there's a good chance you're squeezing through when your name is called. Owners of territorial dogs need to keep this in mind and try to keep their dogs restrained and away from this path. I drive farther to get to this place, but the quality of service and the pricing structure is worth it. Read Less

I have been taking my pets to Bench Animal Hospital for years. They offer top quality care and friendly bedside manner at an affordable price. They always seem to listen thoroughly to your concerns and explain things well. We have mostly visited for routine things like vaccinations, but have also gotten exceptional care when my cat was injured, and especially great care was taken of my elderly dog when he had to have teeth removed. In an emergency situation I called to see if we could get in - they did not have an appointment immediately available but they were incredibly kind and helped calm me down (I was quite upset at the time) before making sure that I had the contact info for the emergency vet location. One dog that I took over ownership of from another family member received a notification from his previous vet that he was due for a shot that I had never heard of. When I asked about it at Bench Animal Hospital they explained what the shot was and that their recommendation was that it was not necessary for the dog's age and activity level - they easily could have just taken my money and given him the shot but instead were honest and saved me some money that didn't need to be spent.My husband and I, as well as two dogs and a cat, all recommend Bench Animal Hospital highly! Following our recent move to Boise, we were looking for a vet. One of our new friends highly recommended Dr. Andrew's. We brought both of our dogs in for their annual exam & everything went well. Then one dog unexpectedly needed a cyst removed & again everything went extremely well. Dr. Andrews kept us informed by telephone on our dog's response & prognosis. Bench Animal Hospital is the total package. They offer exemplary veterinary care at an affordable price. Their office isn't the fanciest around and the waiting room is incredibly small. Neither thing matters one bit to me when I'm faced with a staff that seems to genuinely care about my animals. From the receptionist and vet techs to Dr. Andrews--they are all beautifully friendly and wonderfully caring with your fur family members. Their prices are some of the lowest I've found ($30 office visit? What?!?!). Their cost for a wellness visit (examination + vaccinations) is as low as (if not lower than) the prices offered to the income qualified at the Idaho Humane Society. Low prices do not equate to subpar care at Bench Animal Hospital. I had 3 boxers that I brought here for nearly 15 years. Dr. Andrews and his staff saw them through puppyhood all the way to old age--including one emergency visit--with love, care, and the highest quality veterinary expertise. My dogs were always kept healthy and happy by the care they received at Bench Animal Hospital. I simply cannot recommend them enough.Get to it!! Read Less

They have always been so caring for my animals and never judgemental of breed types (which I dealt with at another vet clinic) They have performed surgery on my cat, and he recovered fast. You get what you pay for.... Customer service HA! Care for you and your animal. No, not really... I guess we see how cat recovers... Yes was an easy routine surgery that needs to be done. Getting an animal fixed. But the lack of customer service or even respect is horrible!! At drop off, too worried about seeing my ID and getting my social security# than telling me about the surgery or post/aftercare. OH and a coworker called in sick via her husband with another migraine. They sure had time to complain about that! I missed the call after the surgery as I was providing customer service at my job. Then they TOO busy to help you at pickup. I had to ask about post care and they just said oh here is the medicine give tomorrow. Then on to next person. Yes, it was busy. Maybe a nurse or another receptionist should come in. Oh and they were great to another woman in front of me. That was the nurse. The receptionist needs to learn to take a deep breathe provide excellent customer service to each one, then move to next quickly but providing the quality. Don't provide horrible service to most. From now on, I will stick with the other great vets that I know, All Valley Animal Care & Animal Medical Center.Read Less

That was a mistake i didn't find anything close to the level of service and care I received from Dr. Andrews. He even went out of his way to make things easier for our specific needs. We have been using Bench Animal Hospital for over 10 years, and have always been impressed by their caring and professional attitudes. For example - they stayed late on a Friday evening when we had an emergency (dog was injured badly by a barbed wire fence) they took care of the injury, and we never felt rushed. We have since moved out of the valley, but continue to use them because of the excellent care we receive. I've been bringing my Lab here for several years. The doctor and the assistants have NEVER been anything but conscientious and polite. They even took her in on a Christmas eve after she'd eaten a box of See's chocolates (opened a wrapped box). I wish I had read the reviews before I brought my animal here. I'm new to Boise and chose a vet that was close to my house as to not prolong the time my sick cat would be in the car. At first I was happy and thankful that they scheduled me an appointment with a few hours notice because they said they were very busy. Unfortunately when I got there the vet was rushed with me and my cat and insisted her sickness must be due to eating something (like a plant) which I don't have in my home and she couldn't have possibly ingested. He seemed to shrug it off and sent me off with some medicine but no knowledge on how to prevent this from happening again. I was sad and worried for my cat when I left the office and encountered the receptionist who was extremely rude and condescending to me while I was paying for the visit and seemed annoyed with my questions. They assured me they would call in a few days to check on how my cat was doing; which, of course, they didn't do. They were very unhelpful and uncaring. I will not be subjecting myself or my animal to them again.Read Less

I have taken all my pets to them since I moved up to the Bench, I love it. Joni is always very talkative and friendly at check in. Dr. Andrews and Dr. Hunt are the two doctors I have seen, my only concern is sometimes they don't do all the vitals and checks and such in front of me, all the Techs but one seem to have an awesome outlook, one isn't necessarily unfriendly, just kinda apathetic. I know some people don't like seeing everything done but I like the most done with me in the room as possible (and no I wont complain how they are doing it, I just like to be there). They are very easy to work with, I would highly recommend!Read Less
