I just went through my files to see what I paid previously ( I moved here a little over a year ago from the Salt Lake area). There, at a vet I loved - in an area with comparable living costs - an exam was $44, 2 of the vaccines were less than $15 each and one was &25. Why are they so expensive here? We also used the boarding facility once. It seemed nice but business hours are inconvenient with no Sunday pick up.

As a full time college student and worker, finding out my fur baby needed an oral operation was a blow. I cried on the spot, I felt terrible for my baby's condition and that I couldn't afford it. BUT, this office has shown nothing but endless accommodating and grace, extending payment plans so I could indeed afford to get my kitty taken care of and adjusting payment dates endlessly to help me juggle changing jobs as a broke college kid. The passion they have for kitties is what drew me to them, and the understanding for their owners is what makes me stay. Beyond five stars in my book!

They are slightly expensive, but very, very accommodating. They were able to clear up our Maine coon's ear infection that has persisted for four years. They do everything they can to make your fur baby comfortable; they even have calming pheromones in every room. I would highly recommend them. An exam, ear culture and first round of meds cost about $160.

We've been moving and in between houses and Luna had to go from having his own house to the temporary place where he's sharing with 7 other animals who he doesn't get along with. For two weeks since the move he seemed panicked, jumpy, withdrawn, and not at all himself. He seemed extremely anxious instead of his usual laid back self. Then I noticed he was going to the litter box every hour, not at all normal for him. I took him to The Cat Doctor because last time we went to the vet, we paid a ton of money for them to tell us they had no idea what was wrong. The Cat Doctor was awesome with Luna. They took great care of him, calmed him down(he gets very stressed at vet appointments), found out what was wrong, helped us fix it, and told me what I could do to prevent it from happening again. I especially liked that I was able to stay with him the whole time, the last vet I went to made me sit in the waiting room while they took him back and it took him weeks to calm down from that since he is so shy with strangers. He is on prescription food with anti anxiety and urinary support for the next month while we're moving and finding a place. They gave me a bunch of free samples of the prescription food so that he could try it out and we could see what he liked before I bought it as well. He's feeling so much better! The prices are about the same as any other vet, they're really not much more expensive.

Called around to get a quote for my kitty, another place cheaper just for the exam and nice, but the receptionist immediately made my concerns feel heard and made me feel like she really cared so I made my appointment with them. I was certainly not let down for the rest of the visit. Super cute office, friendly workers and nurses. The vet/doctor was really nice and very personable. I felt my cat was safe. They stuck to the quote they gave me even though my cat had more cuts and needed more stitches than expected. My cats paw looks great and they were very clear about after care cleaning. I will for sure be taking my cat back if anything happens.

We just had our first visit this evening and we were blown away by the service we recieved. We've been all over the valley looking for a permanent cat doctor and I think we finally found her. Our little beastie was treated as if she was at home and part of their family. They were so kind, patient and gentle with her. She was allowed to roam and explore the exam room freely to get comfortable with her surroundings. She received a complementary nail clipping and a special treat at the end of her exam. They even did the entire exam with us in the room. We never had to be seperated from our girl. That was my selling point. All the staff were so friendly and knowledgeable. Even the other clients were friendly in passing. Positive vibes and many smiles. It was the best experiance we've ever had. Thank you Dr. Fost. We look forward to seeing you again.

It is a cute place and the people in there seemed friendly at first. I thought the doc seemed very smart, but when I got the quote it was VERY overpriced. I decided to take my business elsewhere and was never told that there was an exam fee... well there was. They have called me repeatedly asking for the money and acted like I was a terrible parent for taking my cat elsewhere. The vet I ended up now was reasonably priced and super friendly and had the same or better standard of care. I think there are better options when it comes to overall care for your cats at a reasonable price.

When we moved back to the US, the Cat Doctor was the place we had our 18 year old family cat sent. They were very gentle with her, treating her like family.
We were immediately smitten with this facility, and love the Cat Condos. Each cat has their own space, and each condo has its own view of the squirrels outside. Each condo is three stories, the cat litter down below, the bedroom on the second floor and a place to dream about catching birds on the third floor.
Our cat hissed at all of the neighbors when she first arrived, but after a week, she didn't want to leave her new 'hood'.
Unfortunately, our cat died within a year of returning to the States, and the vet was extremely gentle with her, following up with us to ensure that everything was taken care of.
These people care about cats.

I have had a fantastic experience with the Cat Doctor. I am very particular about the care that my cat receives, and I feel that he has received great care here. The doctor and staff are all very caring. It is clear that EVERYONE who works there loves cats. And, they have offered me great advice and education. I was able to ask the doctor about training, cat products, procedures, food, etc. Also, I appreciate that they specialize in cats- after all, if I had a baby I would bring them to a Pediatrician, so it makes sense to bring my cat to a cat Veterinarian.

We just picked up our 2 kittens from a 9-day stay at the Cat Doctor's hotel and were once again blown away by the unconditional love and care they show our kittens every time they see them. One of our cats also had a dental extraction and cleaning take place during the stay and when we went to pick them up, the staff was very thorough in explaining everything that occurred during the procedure and why it was necessary. We have been huge fans of The Cat Doctor and their entire staff since our very first visit and our latest experience once again reinforced why they are the absolute best cat care facility in Boise.

My cat, Harley, got really sick. Took him to a vet near me and that vet just looked at him and gave him antibiotics. He continued to get worse and I realized that if I didn't get him help, he would die. I called the Cat Doctor and they got him in immediately. Doctor Matheys performed a number of tests on him explaining each one as she went and giving me the results before she went on to the next test. It took a little bit of time but she got him on the right medications and feeding schedule and within a very short period of time he showed improvement. I really feel that he would have died if I had not gotten him into the Cat Doctor and Dr. Matheys. To this day, every time I drive by their office, I thank her for keeping my kitty alive. They are the best.

There, at a vet I loved - in an area with comparable living costs - an exam was $44, 2 of the vaccines were less than $15 each and one was &25. Why are they so expensive here? We also used the boarding facility once. It seemed nice but business hours are inconvenient with no Sunday pick up.

As a full time college student and worker, finding out my fur baby needed an oral operation was a blow. I cried on the spot, I felt terrible for my baby's condition and that I couldn't afford it. BUT, this office has shown nothing but endless accommodating and grace, extending payment plans so I could indeed afford to get my kitty taken care of and adjusting payment dates endlessly to help me juggle changing jobs as a broke college kid. The passion they have for kitties is what drew me to them, and the understanding for their owners is what makes me stay. Beyond five stars in my book!

They are slightly expensive, but very, very accommodating. They were able to clear up our Maine coon's ear infection that has persisted for four years. They do everything they can to make your fur baby comfortable; they even have calming pheromones in every room. I would highly recommend them. An exam, ear culture and first round of meds cost about $160.

We've been moving and in between houses and Luna had to go from having his own house to the temporary place where he's sharing with 7 other animals who he doesn't get along with. For two weeks since the move he seemed panicked, jumpy, withdrawn, and not at all himself. He seemed extremely anxious instead of his usual laid back self. Then I noticed he was going to the litter box every hour, not at all normal for him. I took him to The Cat Doctor because last time we went to the vet, we paid a ton of money for them to tell us they had no idea what was wrong. The Cat Doctor was awesome with Luna. They took great care of him, calmed him down(he gets very stressed at vet appointments), found out what was wrong, helped us fix it, and told me what I could do to prevent it from happening again. I especially liked that I was able to stay with him the whole time, the last vet I went to made me sit in the waiting room while they took him back and it took him weeks to calm down from that since he is so shy with strangers. He is on prescription food with anti anxiety and urinary support for the next month while we're moving and finding a place. They gave me a bunch of free samples of the prescription food so that he could try it out and we could see what he liked before I bought it as well. He's feeling so much better! The prices are about the same as any other vet, they're really not much more expensive.

Called around to get a quote for my kitty, another place cheaper just for the exam and nice, but the receptionist immediately made my concerns feel heard and made me feel like she really cared so I made my appointment with them. I was certainly not let down for the rest of the visit. Super cute office, friendly workers and nurses. The vet/doctor was really nice and very personable. I felt my cat was safe. They stuck to the quote they gave me even though my cat had more cuts and needed more stitches than expected. My cats paw looks great and they were very clear about after care cleaning. I will for sure be taking my cat back if anything happens.

We just had our first visit this evening and we were blown away by the service we recieved. We've been all over the valley looking for a permanent cat doctor and I think we finally found her. Our little beastie was treated as if she was at home and part of their family. They were so kind, patient and gentle with her. She was allowed to roam and explore the exam room freely to get comfortable with her surroundings. She received a complementary nail clipping and a special treat at the end of her exam. They even did the entire exam with us in the room. We never had to be seperated from our girl. That was my selling point. All the staff were so friendly and knowledgeable. Even the other clients were friendly in passing. Positive vibes and many smiles. It was the best experiance we've ever had. Thank you Dr. Fost. We look forward to seeing you again.

It is a cute place and the people in there seemed friendly at first. I thought the doc seemed very smart, but when I got the quote it was VERY overpriced. I decided to take my business elsewhere and was never told that there was an exam fee... well there was. They have called me repeatedly asking for the money and acted like I was a terrible parent for taking my cat elsewhere. The vet I ended up now was reasonably priced and super friendly and had the same or better standard of care. I think there are better options when it comes to overall care for your cats at a reasonable price.

A year ago we were told to put our cat Garfield down because he has lukemia and we were told he wouldn't make it past the respiratory infection and if he made it 3 more months it would be a miracle..I didn't put him down instead tool him to the cat dr..Dr linda not only gave is hope but has gone above and beyond for our 2 cats brother and sister with lukemia. Garfield not only made it 3 months but it has now been over a year and he is going strong..I will never trust anyone else with my cats. Thank you everyone at the cat doctor :)

When we moved back to the US, the Cat Doctor was the place we had our 18 year old family cat sent. They were very gentle with her, treating her like family.
We were immediately smitten with this facility, and love the Cat Condos. Each cat has their own space, and each condo has its own view of the squirrels outside. Each condo is three stories, the cat litter down below, the bedroom on the second floor and a place to dream about catching birds on the third floor.
Our cat hissed at all of the neighbors when she first arrived, but after a week, she didn't want to leave her new 'hood'.
Unfortunately, our cat died within a year of returning to the States, and the vet was extremely gentle with her, following up with us to ensure that everything was taken care of.
These people care about cats.

I have had a fantastic experience with the Cat Doctor. I am very particular about the care that my cat receives, and I feel that he has received great care here. The doctor and staff are all very caring. It is clear that EVERYONE who works there loves cats. And, they have offered me great advice and education. I was able to ask the doctor about training, cat products, procedures, food, etc. Also, I appreciate that they specialize in cats- after all, if I had a baby I would bring them to a Pediatrician, so it makes sense to bring my cat to a cat Veterinarian.

We just picked up our 2 kittens from a 9-day stay at the Cat Doctor's hotel and were once again blown away by the unconditional love and care they show our kittens every time they see them. One of our cats also had a dental extraction and cleaning take place during the stay and when we went to pick them up, the staff was very thorough in explaining everything that occurred during the procedure and why it was necessary. We have been huge fans of The Cat Doctor and their entire staff since our very first visit and our latest experience once again reinforced why they are the absolute best cat care facility in Boise.

My cat, Harley, got really sick. Took him to a vet near me and that vet just looked at him and gave him antibiotics. He continued to get worse and I realized that if I didn't get him help, he would die. I called the Cat Doctor and they got him in immediately. Doctor Matheys performed a number of tests on him explaining each one as she went and giving me the results before she went on to the next test. It took a little bit of time but she got him on the right medications and feeding schedule and within a very short period of time he showed improvement. I really feel that he would have died if I had not gotten him into the Cat Doctor and Dr. Matheys. To this day, every time I drive by their office, I thank her for keeping my kitty alive. They are the best.
