I'm not sure if they got a new receptionist here or what ... but really unprofessional and a negative experience. We'd taken our cat here several times for her shots. So when she suddenly appeared to be in distress/favoring one leg badly, I called to ask if we could bring her in to make sure the leg wasn't broken. I called an hour before closing and got an answering machine, so I left a message. When I didn't get a call back in 20 minutes, I tried calling again. This time, the phone picked up, and hung up. I tried calling again, thinking surely that was a mistake. The call was, once again, picked up and hung up. I never received a return call for the message about our kitty's leg, and we took her to a different vet. We won't be coming back. Extremely unprofessional and disappointing.

I was concerned because she was losing hair & had a touchy tummy. I didn't want a lot of unneccessary tests. I asked him if it could be thyroid & was told $150. Dr wanted to run a blood test for several things too, $300. Concerned I agreed. I was told tests were normal. Dr was polite but distant & cold. I was just happy she was healthy. Or so I thought. In less than a month she became really sick. She wouldn't eat, vomited 3Xs, was lethargic & her back legs were weak. She'd had short spells like this before but not as bad. But she got worse. I called to get her in & was able to Tues afternoon but was warned how much. They didn't care how sick she was just whether I had money. But being concerned about her I took her in. After a quick exam I'm told she probably got in to something & gave nausea shot didn't help.l. I knew she hadn't gotten in to anything. I tried to tell him this & that she'd had spells of this before but he didn't listen just dismissed, told to call him first thing Wed & if she still wasn't I'd need to bring her in right away for an IV or injection for dehydration. Wed not better so I tried to call several times but no answer left 2 messages. No call back. I finally through around noon. I was told the Dr would call me back on his lunch. But he didn't.Thurs still no call. I kept forcing water down her & looked for somewhere else to take her & got her in on Friday she couldn't walk. I had to pay for more blood tests since I couldn't get through to them but good thing I did. It cost 1/2 as much & more thorough exam. He then took blood tests & came back to spend more time with me discussing possible problems he'd seen in the blood tests that were NOT normal & needed watched. He'd found tenderness in her spine. He was friendly & loving to her also friendly & kind to me. In her treatment options he even discussed the least expensive ways to help her. He gave her a pain shot, anti inflammatory med to take at home & prescription food for her touchy tummy. I felt like he really cared about her. Big difference. She felt better 1 hr after the shot. Within 2 days she was even better. Now still slightly guarding her back but doing great. She was in pain. Had the Dr at Hendricks done a complete exam checking her spine, which makes sense when she couldn't walk right, she could have been treated sooner & suffered less. As for the blood tests. The new ones showed some things that need to be watched. I don't know what lab they used at Hendricks but I'd been told all was fine. I think they just didn't want to treat her because I didn't have a bunch of money to spend & I had refused the monthly plan.
Even my own Dr & hospital have worked with me to pay my bills before. I have great credit. But not them. I thought I'd found a Dr to help my dog through her old age but no way. Money is first with them. She deserves better. I believe I should get a refund. I wasted my money there then had to have tests rerun because they didn't follow through as they had promised with calls & care therefore endangering my dogs life.

We have been taking our dog here over 6 months because we realized he had food or environment allergies. They told us that they couldn't test for allergies and gave us only food trial as an option. Here we are 5 months later going to a new vet that was honest and upfront unlike Hendricks about their allergy testing. You can get allergy testing done at Hendricks even though they told us they couldn't and then proceeded to suck over 500 dollars out of us. I don't know why this happened. They knew how bad his problems were and they did not help him to the fullest of their capabilities.
Ps. The insurance is a huge scam and you can't quite unless you pay for the months you don't want anyways

The staff is so kind and accommodating to you and your pets. The membership plans are very affordable would recommend the clinic to anyone. When my puppy chipped his tooth they had me in that day no problem.

After trying several clinics around town Hendricks was the one I finally trusted with my dogs. They are definitely a bit more spendy but it's worth every penny. The staff takes time to get down on the floor with my dogs just to pet them and give them love. I've been to other establishments who want to get your pet in and out as fast as possible and try to up sell you anything and everything. Definitely not the case at Hendricks. It is a very caring, clean and comfortable place to take your fur babies :)

I've been bringing my dogs to Hendricks to see Dr. Squires since 2014 and everything has been great until this week. Earlier this week one of my fur babies got really sick and when my wife called the receptionist was very rude and told her to go to West Vet as they could not see Arlo on that day. She did as instructed, and then later in the day called back over to Hendricks because Arlo needed surgery. The receptionist was again, rude, and very unhelpful. My wife told her she would not get off the phone until she had spoken to Dr. Squires. She was then told by the Dr. that she should have come immediately to Hendricks and they could have performed the surgery already, but now they did not have the time to do it. My wife told Dr.Squires that the receptionist told her to go to West Vet -- Dr. Squires promised to look into this and get back to us.
West Vet gave us the nice present of sending Arlo home with kennel cough, and when I tried to call 8 different times today (I have the phone records) I got disconnection notices. I sent an email and a message and finally Hendricks got back to me just in time to let me know that they could not see our dogs today because they are closing. The receptionist argued with me about the phone calls I had made telling me that the phones were working fine. Dr. Squires was a great vet for our boys but I will never spend another penny at Hendricks.

I was scared to death to lose my Tinker. I wasn't sure what happen, I just knew she was in pain and I couldn't help. I am grateful for the care and concern Tinker received while there. After just one night, she has done a 190. She isn't to impressed over the cone still but, her blisters are healing nicely and she is dealing with it. I can finally touch her without her yelping in pain. Thank you so much for loving her and helping her!

Dr. Davis at Hendricks has been my mom's vet since the day her dog was born. When I moved back to Boise a little over two years ago, she recommended I use Hendricks for my cat, Hashbrown. Unfortunately, I needed that recommendation just a couple of months after we got here. I was set up with Dr. Squires, and in we went. In two years time, Hashbrown has had seven teeth extracted in two different procedures due to resorptive lesions. Dr. Squires said the poor guy was probably in considerable pain, though he didn't show it until he had to stop eating entirely. In both cases, Dr. Squires called me earlier than anticipated to tell me the surgeries had gone off without a hitch, and the care he took while performing the extractions was immediately evident. I was told to expect a recovery time of a week or more, but both times Hashbrown returned to dry food on his own, without any issues, in just a couple of days. There have been other issues that initially led to tests, just to be on the safe side. Dr. Squires has been very understanding of the entire situation - not just Hashbrown's health, but my finances as well. When it became clear these issues would come up now and again and pass on their own without any surprises in lab results, Dr. Squires gradually shifted to a more wait-and-see approach which has worked out very well. (Privately, I call these periodic symptoms a sign of OCD - Old Cat Disorder. Hashbrown will be 14 next week.) It's also worth noting that Dr. Squires is the first veterinarian Hashbrown has seen since he was a kitten whom he hasn't immediately tried to kill once introductions were made. They say mother knows best, and in this case that's proven to be absolutely true. The office is always spotless, the staff greet both pets and parents by name, and the care they all provide is second to none. I highly recommend Hendricks to anyone looking for someone to take care of their furry family members.

Dr. Davis and his staff have been caring for my lab, Cami, since I got her and have seen her through some pretty strange stuff. They're always caring, professional, and very knowledgeable. I'm never made to feel like just another number - they pay particular attention to every pet and owner and remember the little things from one visit to the next that assures me that they're paying attention. They're there for you on every level, through any situation. Dr. Davis is incredible! But, on more than one occasion, he's let me know that he wants to consult with a specialist on a test result and that tells me that he is determined to take the best care possible of my pet. Cami has had some harrowing experiences and seems to enjoy keeping the staff on their toes with odd reasons for visits, but they are always on top of every situation and I never feel anything but the utmost confidence in them. I've trusted them with more animals than just Cami, have recommended the clinic to many people and will continue to do so.

This office was so clean and professional with a very welcoming environment and front office staff. When I started my process of finding a new vet for my pup after a horrible interaction with my previous vet office, I was worried and didn't know where to start. When I called Hendricks they were very sympathetic for my previous situation and were ready to help come up with a game plan to get my dogs tooth extracted. They had me come in for a initial visit and then my dog had the extraction one week later. The doctor called me after he had finished and gave me an update on how the procedure went, which I loved and truly appreciated because it's always stressful having your dog at the vets for the day. When I picked him up, every question I asked was fully answered. It was a breath of fresh air! I will always recommend this office to friends and family! Thank you so much for taking care of my fur baby Draco!

I just recently got my first pit bull puppy Luna. The First day I got her we took her into Hendricks to get her a basic check up and her first round of shots. They were wonderful with her and welcoming her to the clinic. Very informative about the paw plan and the benifits for a new addition to any family. Extremely straight forward with the costs of a first time puppy and how it actually benifits my bank account versus theirs. Since then my puppy had a surprise vet visit due to an eye injury the paw plan covered 90% of the visit. They were so caring and gentle with my little pup. Completely informative during the visit on what they were doing and why. As well as very in detail on the verdict. She just went in today and got her last round of puppy shots and once again excellent care, always friendly staff and even better vets that truly care for the animals. Well worth my drive from Middleton! Only the best for my Blue eyed beauty Luna!

Their recommendations for products are spot on, especially with the dental treats the like to use. Our dog normally is pretty picky about the treats she eats, so finding a dental treat for her that she enjoys is great. Overall, great local business.

When I got my first cat I wanted to find a place close by, so we went to Hendricks. I am so glad we did!! They explained everything they were doing during the initial exam and made sure we had the proper information to continue our vaccinations properly. When we got our second cat we took her to Hendricks as well. I received the same amazing treatment. Unfortunately we had to declaw both our cats after failed attempts to get them to scratch elsewhere. (they torn out chunks of our rented house carpet). Dr. Squires was understanding and did not make me feel guilty (even though I did). They took wonderful care of them and kept them overnight. When one of our cats didn't seem to be healing properly they told me to come in right away and within 5 minutes my husband and I were in a room and they were examining her. Everything is due up front, but that is how 90% of vets work, so it isn't a problem for me. I will never go to any other vet for my animals. They have a client for life.

She also explained that they had a PAW PLAN but would still have to pay for total amount due BEFORE we could see the Vet. We don't know what is wrong with our dog but it seems like they are making people chose between our dog (part of the family) or being able to pay rent. We offered to pay office visit and 1/2 of what else was being done up to a certain point but was told no. All we wanted to do is have our dog looked at if you going to call yourself a hospital then you need to do more to help

In February, I adopted an Irish Setter puppy and so was in need of a veterinarian and was hoping I could find an office relatively close to my home.Enter Hendrick's Veterinary Hospital. The entire experience from making the appointment to finally wandering in (with one very curious and excited little puppy in tow) was excellent. The lobby area is large and impeccably clean. The size of the lobby is particularly nice when you're bringing in your healthy dog/puppy/pet, you needn't sit too close to potentially ill animals (and obviously, the reverse as well--as I wouldn't want my sick pup exposing healthy doggies).Dr. Davis was thorough, kind, and patient with my many questions. Because, here's the thing--I'm a bit of a researcher. I adopt a puppy and books are borrowed from the library, research is done online, and friends who have dogs are faced with a litany of questions (How long did house training take for your dog? How did you balance the need to socialize your puppy with the need to keep them safe and healthy prior to their full range of immunizations?). And, if you're also a bit of a researcher, you know--you are incessantly faced with conflicting data (never get upset with a puppy when they mess in the house, just patiently bring them outside--or--If you catch them *in* the act, definitely firmly say no--or--??? So much information!).So, in short? I need a veterinarian who is going to cut straight through my new-puppy-mom-crazy. Dr. Davis absolutely did this, calmly and without judgement, which I very much appreciated.Since then, I've had occasion to bring her back (she had a UTI). They were able to get us in quickly, diagnose her, and we left with medication in hand (the entire process took less than a half hour--and that's with a urinalysis).Wonderful!Get to it!

I called to ask if they were willing to let me make payment arrangements. I explained that I was concerned with my dogs health and was willing to spend whatever necessary to help him, I just couldn't afford to pay for everything at once. They just said no. It must be nice to be able to refuse to help animals because some owners have thousands of dollars at their disposal for unexpected vet bills. Those people are obviously better than anyone that has to budget for expensive things and deserve to catered to.

It's always a pleasure to visit Hendrick's. They're very caring and don't recommend things you don't need. They try their best to balance affordability and effectiveness which seems to be the opposite of other veterinary clinics in the area. We tried several other clinics before Hendrick's and we're happy we found them. We've been there for several years now and won't go to another.

The worst vet experience I've ever had! The clinic is old and unclean and my dog was misdiagnosed with scabies and treated 3x without relief of itching and sores. Not to mention it cost almost $200 with every visit. After getting a second opinion from a more thorough vet I discovered my dog had food allergies (not scabies) and that there are other vets that don't overcharge like Hendricks. I also have a friend who filed a formal complaint with this vet clinic after her dog had severe complications from a procedure they did to remove an abscess from his head. I would NEVER recommend this clinic to anyone who wants quality and efficient care for their beloved pet.

We chose Hendricks, first and foremost, based on location. We live fairly close and that provides peace of mind. When we first arrived to set up our appointment, the receptionist was very kind and helpful. Our appointment was set for Monday, but on the Thursday prior, our little guy vomited and my husband saw a worm. He called and got our appointment switched to the next day. We were so grateful. Dr. Davis was very gentle and comforting to our boy. Also, he bore with me and all my crazy "new pet-mom" questions. Looking forward to many years working with Hendricks. :)

Great staff. Friendly, helpful. Dr. Pesnell did a great job taking cheatgrass out of my dogs paws and explaining what is is and after care. We are from NJ, so have never heard of cheatgrass. He was gentle and considerate of how much discomfort our dog could take.Also updated both dogs rabies vaccines. Only down side is I wish they gave a bigger break on 2 dogs at one visit. A visit cost $49.50, 2nd dog was $41.00. I think they could have reduced to $25./$30. for 2nd dog during same visit.But, I think they had a slow day and we spent 1.5 hours between time with the vet tech. and the vet. So can I really complain? No.

I discovered Hendrick's Vet Hosp. when I was able to be on a local radio show that was granting wishes. My pups needed attention and my husband and I had not been able to afford the vet care they needed. Though the guy running the radio show was a jerk to me, Drs. Hendricks and Davis didn't pay him any mind and agreed to see my girls and help them. A year later I would not take my pets anywhere else. The folks at Hendrick's aren't the most high tech, the offices aren't new, but their love and compassion for animals (and their owners) is top notch. After surgery and other interventions, we had to put our beagle down, and Dr. Davis was a kind as he could be about it- he helped to make her passing a smidge more bearable. They also offer kenneling if you are going out of town.

I'm not sure if they got a new receptionist here or what ... but really unprofessional and a negative experience. We'd taken our cat here several times for her shots. So when she suddenly appeared to be in distress/favoring one leg badly, I called to ask if we could bring her in to make sure the leg wasn't broken. I called an hour before closing and got an answering machine, so I left a message. When I didn't get a call back in 20 minutes, I tried calling again. This time, the phone picked up, and hung up. I tried calling again, thinking surely that was a mistake. The call was, once again, picked up and hung up. I never received a return call for the message about our kitty's leg, and we took her to a different vet. We won't be coming back. Extremely unprofessional and disappointing.

I was concerned because she was losing hair & had a touchy tummy. I didn't want a lot of unneccessary tests. I asked him if it could be thyroid & was told $150. Dr wanted to run a blood test for several things too, $300. Concerned I agreed. I was told tests were normal. Dr was polite but distant & cold. I was just happy she was healthy. Or so I thought. In less than a month she became really sick. She wouldn't eat, vomited 3Xs, was lethargic & her back legs were weak. She'd had short spells like this before but not as bad. But she got worse. I called to get her in & was able to Tues afternoon but was warned how much. They didn't care how sick she was just whether I had money. But being concerned about her I took her in. After a quick exam I'm told she probably got in to something & gave nausea shot didn't help.l. I knew she hadn't gotten in to anything. I tried to tell him this & that she'd had spells of this before but he didn't listen just dismissed, told to call him first thing Wed & if she still wasn't I'd need to bring her in right away for an IV or injection for dehydration. Wed not better so I tried to call several times but no answer left 2 messages. No call back. I finally through around noon. I was told the Dr would call me back on his lunch. But he didn't.Thurs still no call. I kept forcing water down her & looked for somewhere else to take her & got her in on Friday she couldn't walk. I had to pay for more blood tests since I couldn't get through to them but good thing I did. It cost 1/2 as much & more thorough exam. He then took blood tests & came back to spend more time with me discussing possible problems he'd seen in the blood tests that were NOT normal & needed watched. He'd found tenderness in her spine. He was friendly & loving to her also friendly & kind to me. In her treatment options he even discussed the least expensive ways to help her. He gave her a pain shot, anti inflammatory med to take at home & prescription food for her touchy tummy. I felt like he really cared about her. Big difference. She felt better 1 hr after the shot. Within 2 days she was even better. Now still slightly guarding her back but doing great. She was in pain. Had the Dr at Hendricks done a complete exam checking her spine, which makes sense when she couldn't walk right, she could have been treated sooner & suffered less. As for the blood tests. The new ones showed some things that need to be watched. I don't know what lab they used at Hendricks but I'd been told all was fine. I think they just didn't want to treat her because I didn't have a bunch of money to spend & I had refused the monthly plan.
Even my own Dr & hospital have worked with me to pay my bills before. I have great credit. But not them. I thought I'd found a Dr to help my dog through her old age but no way. Money is first with them. She deserves better. I believe I should get a refund. I wasted my money there then had to have tests rerun because they didn't follow through as they had promised with calls & care therefore endangering my dogs life.

We have been taking our dog here over 6 months because we realized he had food or environment allergies. They told us that they couldn't test for allergies and gave us only food trial as an option. Here we are 5 months later going to a new vet that was honest and upfront unlike Hendricks about their allergy testing. You can get allergy testing done at Hendricks even though they told us they couldn't and then proceeded to suck over 500 dollars out of us. I don't know why this happened. They knew how bad his problems were and they did not help him to the fullest of their capabilities.
Ps. The insurance is a huge scam and you can't quite unless you pay for the months you don't want anyways

After trying several clinics around town Hendricks was the one I finally trusted with my dogs. They are definitely a bit more spendy but it's worth every penny. The staff takes time to get down on the floor with my dogs just to pet them and give them love. I've been to other establishments who want to get your pet in and out as fast as possible and try to up sell you anything and everything. Definitely not the case at Hendricks. It is a very caring, clean and comfortable place to take your fur babies :)

I've been bringing my dogs to Hendricks to see Dr. Squires since 2014 and everything has been great until this week. Earlier this week one of my fur babies got really sick and when my wife called the receptionist was very rude and told her to go to West Vet as they could not see Arlo on that day. She did as instructed, and then later in the day called back over to Hendricks because Arlo needed surgery. The receptionist was again, rude, and very unhelpful. My wife told her she would not get off the phone until she had spoken to Dr. Squires. She was then told by the Dr. that she should have come immediately to Hendricks and they could have performed the surgery already, but now they did not have the time to do it. My wife told Dr.Squires that the receptionist told her to go to West Vet -- Dr. Squires promised to look into this and get back to us.
West Vet gave us the nice present of sending Arlo home with kennel cough, and when I tried to call 8 different times today (I have the phone records) I got disconnection notices. I sent an email and a message and finally Hendricks got back to me just in time to let me know that they could not see our dogs today because they are closing. The receptionist argued with me about the phone calls I had made telling me that the phones were working fine. Dr. Squires was a great vet for our boys but I will never spend another penny at Hendricks.

Dr. Davis at Hendricks has been my mom's vet since the day her dog was born. When I moved back to Boise a little over two years ago, she recommended I use Hendricks for my cat, Hashbrown. Unfortunately, I needed that recommendation just a couple of months after we got here. I was set up with Dr. Squires, and in we went. In two years time, Hashbrown has had seven teeth extracted in two different procedures due to resorptive lesions. Dr. Squires said the poor guy was probably in considerable pain, though he didn't show it until he had to stop eating entirely. In both cases, Dr. Squires called me earlier than anticipated to tell me the surgeries had gone off without a hitch, and the care he took while performing the extractions was immediately evident. I was told to expect a recovery time of a week or more, but both times Hashbrown returned to dry food on his own, without any issues, in just a couple of days. There have been other issues that initially led to tests, just to be on the safe side. Dr. Squires has been very understanding of the entire situation - not just Hashbrown's health, but my finances as well. When it became clear these issues would come up now and again and pass on their own without any surprises in lab results, Dr. Squires gradually shifted to a more wait-and-see approach which has worked out very well. (Privately, I call these periodic symptoms a sign of OCD - Old Cat Disorder. Hashbrown will be 14 next week.) It's also worth noting that Dr. Squires is the first veterinarian Hashbrown has seen since he was a kitten whom he hasn't immediately tried to kill once introductions were made. They say mother knows best, and in this case that's proven to be absolutely true. The office is always spotless, the staff greet both pets and parents by name, and the care they all provide is second to none. I highly recommend Hendricks to anyone looking for someone to take care of their furry family members.

Dr. Davis and his staff have been caring for my lab, Cami, since I got her and have seen her through some pretty strange stuff. They're always caring, professional, and very knowledgeable. I'm never made to feel like just another number - they pay particular attention to every pet and owner and remember the little things from one visit to the next that assures me that they're paying attention. They're there for you on every level, through any situation. Dr. Davis is incredible! But, on more than one occasion, he's let me know that he wants to consult with a specialist on a test result and that tells me that he is determined to take the best care possible of my pet. Cami has had some harrowing experiences and seems to enjoy keeping the staff on their toes with odd reasons for visits, but they are always on top of every situation and I never feel anything but the utmost confidence in them. I've trusted them with more animals than just Cami, have recommended the clinic to many people and will continue to do so.

This office was so clean and professional with a very welcoming environment and front office staff. When I started my process of finding a new vet for my pup after a horrible interaction with my previous vet office, I was worried and didn't know where to start. When I called Hendricks they were very sympathetic for my previous situation and were ready to help come up with a game plan to get my dogs tooth extracted. They had me come in for a initial visit and then my dog had the extraction one week later. The doctor called me after he had finished and gave me an update on how the procedure went, which I loved and truly appreciated because it's always stressful having your dog at the vets for the day. When I picked him up, every question I asked was fully answered. It was a breath of fresh air! I will always recommend this office to friends and family! Thank you so much for taking care of my fur baby Draco!

I just recently got my first pit bull puppy Luna. The First day I got her we took her into Hendricks to get her a basic check up and her first round of shots. They were wonderful with her and welcoming her to the clinic. Very informative about the paw plan and the benifits for a new addition to any family. Extremely straight forward with the costs of a first time puppy and how it actually benifits my bank account versus theirs. Since then my puppy had a surprise vet visit due to an eye injury the paw plan covered 90% of the visit. They were so caring and gentle with my little pup. Completely informative during the visit on what they were doing and why. As well as very in detail on the verdict. She just went in today and got her last round of puppy shots and once again excellent care, always friendly staff and even better vets that truly care for the animals. Well worth my drive from Middleton! Only the best for my Blue eyed beauty Luna!

When I got my first cat I wanted to find a place close by, so we went to Hendricks. I am so glad we did!! They explained everything they were doing during the initial exam and made sure we had the proper information to continue our vaccinations properly. When we got our second cat we took her to Hendricks as well. I received the same amazing treatment. Unfortunately we had to declaw both our cats after failed attempts to get them to scratch elsewhere. (they torn out chunks of our rented house carpet). Dr. Squires was understanding and did not make me feel guilty (even though I did). They took wonderful care of them and kept them overnight. When one of our cats didn't seem to be healing properly they told me to come in right away and within 5 minutes my husband and I were in a room and they were examining her. Everything is due up front, but that is how 90% of vets work, so it isn't a problem for me. I will never go to any other vet for my animals. They have a client for life.

She also explained that they had a PAW PLAN but would still have to pay for total amount due BEFORE we could see the Vet. We don't know what is wrong with our dog but it seems like they are making people chose between our dog (part of the family) or being able to pay rent. We offered to pay office visit and 1/2 of what else was being done up to a certain point but was told no. All we wanted to do is have our dog looked at if you going to call yourself a hospital then you need to do more to help

In February, I adopted an Irish Setter puppy and so was in need of a veterinarian and was hoping I could find an office relatively close to my home.Enter Hendrick's Veterinary Hospital. The entire experience from making the appointment to finally wandering in (with one very curious and excited little puppy in tow) was excellent. The lobby area is large and impeccably clean. The size of the lobby is particularly nice when you're bringing in your healthy dog/puppy/pet, you needn't sit too close to potentially ill animals (and obviously, the reverse as well--as I wouldn't want my sick pup exposing healthy doggies).Dr. Davis was thorough, kind, and patient with my many questions. Because, here's the thing--I'm a bit of a researcher. I adopt a puppy and books are borrowed from the library, research is done online, and friends who have dogs are faced with a litany of questions (How long did house training take for your dog? How did you balance the need to socialize your puppy with the need to keep them safe and healthy prior to their full range of immunizations?). And, if you're also a bit of a researcher, you know--you are incessantly faced with conflicting data (never get upset with a puppy when they mess in the house, just patiently bring them outside--or--If you catch them *in* the act, definitely firmly say no--or--??? So much information!).So, in short? I need a veterinarian who is going to cut straight through my new-puppy-mom-crazy. Dr. Davis absolutely did this, calmly and without judgement, which I very much appreciated.Since then, I've had occasion to bring her back (she had a UTI). They were able to get us in quickly, diagnose her, and we left with medication in hand (the entire process took less than a half hour--and that's with a urinalysis).Wonderful!Get to it!

I called to ask if they were willing to let me make payment arrangements. I explained that I was concerned with my dogs health and was willing to spend whatever necessary to help him, I just couldn't afford to pay for everything at once. They just said no. It must be nice to be able to refuse to help animals because some owners have thousands of dollars at their disposal for unexpected vet bills. Those people are obviously better than anyone that has to budget for expensive things and deserve to catered to.

It's always a pleasure to visit Hendrick's. They're very caring and don't recommend things you don't need. They try their best to balance affordability and effectiveness which seems to be the opposite of other veterinary clinics in the area. We tried several other clinics before Hendrick's and we're happy we found them. We've been there for several years now and won't go to another.

Our previous veterinarian was not able to help her. Dr. Davis found a great medication. For the first time in her 12 years, her eye is remarkably clear. Thank you!

The worst vet experience I've ever had! The clinic is old and unclean and my dog was misdiagnosed with scabies and treated 3x without relief of itching and sores. Not to mention it cost almost $200 with every visit. After getting a second opinion from a more thorough vet I discovered my dog had food allergies (not scabies) and that there are other vets that don't overcharge like Hendricks. I also have a friend who filed a formal complaint with this vet clinic after her dog had severe complications from a procedure they did to remove an abscess from his head. I would NEVER recommend this clinic to anyone who wants quality and efficient care for their beloved pet.

We chose Hendricks, first and foremost, based on location. We live fairly close and that provides peace of mind. When we first arrived to set up our appointment, the receptionist was very kind and helpful. Our appointment was set for Monday, but on the Thursday prior, our little guy vomited and my husband saw a worm. He called and got our appointment switched to the next day. We were so grateful. Dr. Davis was very gentle and comforting to our boy. Also, he bore with me and all my crazy "new pet-mom" questions. Looking forward to many years working with Hendricks. :)

Great staff. Friendly, helpful. Dr. Pesnell did a great job taking cheatgrass out of my dogs paws and explaining what is is and after care. We are from NJ, so have never heard of cheatgrass. He was gentle and considerate of how much discomfort our dog could take.Also updated both dogs rabies vaccines. Only down side is I wish they gave a bigger break on 2 dogs at one visit. A visit cost $49.50, 2nd dog was $41.00. I think they could have reduced to $25./$30. for 2nd dog during same visit.But, I think they had a slow day and we spent 1.5 hours between time with the vet tech. and the vet. So can I really complain? No.

I discovered Hendrick's Vet Hosp. when I was able to be on a local radio show that was granting wishes. My pups needed attention and my husband and I had not been able to afford the vet care they needed. Though the guy running the radio show was a jerk to me, Drs. Hendricks and Davis didn't pay him any mind and agreed to see my girls and help them. A year later I would not take my pets anywhere else. The folks at Hendrick's aren't the most high tech, the offices aren't new, but their love and compassion for animals (and their owners) is top notch. After surgery and other interventions, we had to put our beagle down, and Dr. Davis was a kind as he could be about it- he helped to make her passing a smidge more bearable. They also offer kenneling if you are going out of town.
