I took my Rottweiler here for a second opinion on his diagnosis for bone cancer. Dr. Maloney was simply amazing in his advice he gave. He laid out multiple courses of actions on how to treat my Rottie and his cancer. He spent at least 1 hour that Sunday laying out every single possible scenario. Ultimately it was his advice that made me decide to proceed with the amputation of the cancerous leg and follow on chemo. Had I waited just a few more days for the surgery it would have been too late due to the cancer spreading and getting in my dogs organs. Had an emergency on a sunday afternoon and rushed my dog here. They did all they could but were not able to save her. The staff was very sensitive to the situation. It's a hard job to tell someone they lost their dog and now it time to pay the bill. They handled the situation as sensitivity and professionally as possible. I appreciate what they did for us. I decided to switch to a vet closer to home. They were prompt and friendly to both me and my dog. Doc spent ample time with me discussing my concerns. He offered alternatives but was conservative in his recommendations which I liked. He told me what he would do if it were his dog. We have a stray kitty that hangs around our yard that we feed, and he ended up with a nasty mystery wound. Over the years I've been to around 10 vets in Boise and have left unsatisfied with the care I received at all of them. Dr. Maloney and the other vets at Mountain View Animal Hospital have been the exception. There're is no other veterinarian in town that I trust to my dogs care.  Dr Maloney has been taking care of my 3 dogs, aka "my babies", for over 8 years.  He has literally saved one of my dogs life.  Dr Maloney calls me after hours himself to check on my dogs.  I've never been rushed through any of my questions, and I normally have a list.  Most importantly, Dr Maloney cares about my dogs and I can see his concern in his eyes and gentle nature with my babies.  Both my husband and I know we can 100% trust Dr Maloney to give us great advice, wether he's referring us a book on making our dogs food, referring us to a specialist for our dogs torn ACL (just like a human).  Dr Maloney even did the after care follow up visits on out dog complimentary, the surgery was done in Sun Valley.  I have referred multiple friends to him, he is the owner, they all rave about him as I do.  His personal care to my family is the best I have ever received and I always feel his prices are fair and I never have any surprises to my billing.  We LOVE Mountain View Animal Hospital and I consider DR Maloney to be a walking Angel among us. Took dog in for abscess, which we believe was caused by cheatgrass, he was had some removed during first visit. Was given pain meds and antibiotics, but after two weeks, the abscess was still large and needed treatment. We asked for an estimate since they are rather pricey, we knew this from the first visit. Dr did not take time to look at dog, instead vet tech and receptionist tried to pressure us into an expensive procedure. Since our puppy needed some puppy teeth pulled, we wanted the abscess cleaned and teeth removed saving the dog and our wallet from two seperate procedures requiring sedation. Took him to differnt vet office and both procedures are being done for a quarter of the estimate of mountain view.  It left the impression that the staff cares more about their wallets than our animals.  The staff were extremely pushy. I'm really picky about my veterinarian. I want someone who loves animals. I want someone who will listen to me and treat me like an intelligent human being. And I want a vet who has common sense and who can treat my pet without necessarily running up a monster bill. I've been coming to see Dr. Maloney and his wonderful staff for more than two years, and I've never had a bad experience. The hospital is not the fanciest, but it has a family-like feel that I love. The hospital was very clean, neat and organized. The receptionist was very friendly and treated our dogs like her own. The vet tech was very sweet, she kept my nervous dogs occupied while I filled out paperwork. Dr. Ormond was very friendly, knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. I went here for treatment on a small absess for my amazing cat.  I don't even think they cleaned it up because he looked the same going out as he did going in.  They prescribed me 2 bottles of Clavamox and then I left.  I only used the one bottle of Clavmox because my cat was having major diarehea and also was healing quite well and quickly.  This was one month ago.  I put the unused bottle, unmixed in the fridge where it has stayed.  My boyfriend and I are moving and cleaned out the fridge, I opened up the unused, unmixed box and it was yellow, which was obviously was bad, I then looked at the exp date and it said 9/11, and I had just gotten it a month ago.  So I decided to call the vet and ask why it had turned and what that meant.  They put me on hold for about 5 minutes and then came back and asked me why I hadn't given my cat the whole 2 bottles.  I said, that is not the question I asked, I asked why is this unused product that says it expires in 1 1/2 years.  She then ignored what I had asked her and asked the same question to me.  I then told her I was going to write this review and then hung up.  I then went to a new vet.  The Pet Doctor and asked then the same question.  "I have a unused unmixed bottle of Clavamox that I was sold 1 month ago and it is yellow, Do you know if that means it bad?"  She said, without any other questions, "Oh that means it's bad."  SO I WOULD NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE AGAIN.  BAD NEWS BEARS. Well ever since my vet referred me to these guys they were great with my dog. He is a bit psycho of a dog and doesn't really do anything for any vet they got him calm and collective without having to restrain him. They have a great gentle touch like a dog whisperer. I love them! I could not believe it! My dog had just been neutered and had his dew claws removed and was getting an infection in his dew claws. I brang him up to McCall with me and on the way down he was in alot of pain so I called them right up and they got him right in. The best thing is they can get you right in anytime! We didn't really have to wait very long seeing my dog needed a doggy wheelchair. I now go to them regularly because my old regular vet wasn't as good as these guys! And compared to my old vet these guys were cheaper, better and 24/7!Read Less
