First off, I hardly write reviews so this is a rare thing.
But I feel it important to relay a message to help others who are like me and check ratings to base their judgement on where to go.
I chose this vet for that very reason, and came out very disappointed.
From the first appointment till the most recent I’ve been fairly disappointed in this clinic.
When taking my dog in to be looked at for a neuter, they really pushed for an additional procedure that cost an additional $500. They seemed fairly dismissive towards me when I wasn’t as comfortable with it and even had a technician come in and give a testimonial towards spending the money to do it.
This procedure takes part of the stomach and attatcjes it to the side of the dog.
I called my breeder and she said she’s never had any of her dogs go through this in the 20+ years she’s been a breeder and not once had any dogs suffer from not doing it.
Not only that, upon getting my pup neutered, they didn’t even seem to have the best medication to go home with and never even offered to have any additional meds.
When my pup was in horrid pain on the little I was given, they had me take an extra trip to get more. I wished this was something they offered prior. To top it, he struggled and with cost of everything they don’t even include a cone. So I had no idea if he needed it or not.
They called and based on his level of discomfort said I need to come back a 3rd time to get a cone, almost lecturing me for the fact he’s not behaving like he should and I need to fix it and come in straight away....
so over 3 days I made several trips that could have been avoided if they offered these things up front. So I went back to get the cone.
Turns out he can’t have a cone, he freaks out. Not even 10 min later I called worried he tore a stitch because he wasn’t handling the cone well. He would run away from it but being attached wouldn’t get far. He was crashing through everything. I called within being home 15 min and they said use boxers and return the cone.
Made my 4th trip in, and they won’t accept the cone back because while he was freaking out he slightly dented the corner of the cone where it comes together. They could have mentioned that and I’d have saved a trip.
So I wasted time money and gas. Again, had they maybe provided this first we would have known the cone wasn’t a great idea from the get go. I wouldn’t have wasted 30 min of drive time per trip and I would have saved money on something I couldn’t even use without risking injury.
I don’t feel as though they treated me with much respect, pushing for unnecessary and invasive procedures with longer recovery time, and when calling worried, it felt like they were having a tone after hearing about his behavior, as if I’m a bad pet owner that I dare let him lick at his stitches. Now I’m not being negligent...During his recovery I’ve cancelled several appointments and other activities because I’ve been needing to stay at home with him. I can’t help they didn’t provide these things and I made the effort to come in and fix it because my dog is sufferening so much post surgery. But I am quite disappointed his far with how things have gone. I’ve been to several vets and chose this one based on ratings.
I don’t feel I’ve gotten the level of care and professionalism this sort of rating would earn.
I hope others don’t have to go through as much as I have and I am only writing this to bring awareness and hopefully prevent other issues for any other loving pet owner who cares which vet they use.

I first came to The Pet Doctor after a friends recommended them. They took such good care of her greyhounds. My Leela loved them. My dog was not normally okay going to a vets office, too many smells, but here she loved everyone she came in contact with. Her exam was thorough and I understood everything they explained to me. Leela even gave the vet tech a kiss after she took her rectal temperature. Had a wonderful experience. Unfortunately we had a tragedy in our that took the lives of Leela and her brother and sister kitties. When The Pet Doctor office staff found out they sent flowers to our home. A small condolence but it meant so much. I highly recommend this office for your fur babies. They will take care of you and your furry family members.

He slipped away peacefully with his head in my lap. The grace and love provided by all who work there surely lessoned the pain of this very hard day. I can't say enough great things about the Pet Doctor! We needed to find a new vet after moving from Virginia, and we feel so fortunate to have found them to take care of our kitties! Dr. Will Dunaway is highly professional, knowledgeable, and skilled and the staff has been nothing but helpful and supportive. We couldn't be more pleased. Dr. Will especially did an incredible job removing a tumor from a very tricky area around the eye of one of our cats. Thank you all again for everything!

Dr. Linda has staffed her clinic with kind, compassionate, knowledgeable people that truly care for your pet. I have been taking my fur babies to Linda and her staff for 9 years now. We've been in for everything from annual exams to shots to ear infections to cancer. My miniature schnauzer was diagnosed with cancer 4 and 1/2 years ago. All of the medical statistics to date pointed to a 100% chance of the cancer returning. Linda spent hours calling other vets and researching case studies and presented me with some possible options. With regular checkups and extra attention spent watching for signs, I can happily report he is still cancer free today. I recommend the Pet Doctor to all of my coworkers and friends when they ask about a vet. They treat every animal and owner as family!

We have been patient/clients of The Pet Doctor since January 2006. We live less than a mile from The Pet Doctor clinic, which is one of the reasons that we chose to take our pets there. Dr. Linda and The Pet Doctor staff have always treated our pets with dignity, respect, compassion, and concern for their well being. We always received post card notice in the mail when it was time for the annual checkup, be it shots or just a wellness exam, and we scheduled the time accordingly. On August 3, our beloved Dakota passed away. He collapsed in our back yard, we rushed him to the clinic, where Dr. Linda explained his situation, and we agreed on an appropriate action. The same concern, compassion, dignity, and respect for us and Dakota that we always were given during regular visits was evident at this traumatic time. We will have another pet someday, another mini dachshund because they are so smart, loving, funny, and a pure joy to have. And when we do, we will be calling The Pet Doctor to begin the same regimen of care that Dakota received. BTW, Dakota was a month and two days shy of his fifteenth birthday when he passed and we credit Dr. Linda and her staff for helping us keep Dakota strong and healthy during his life. Thank you Dr. Linda, The Pet Doctor staff, for your exemplary care and service. We shall return someday with a new pet.

Really good about communicating prices with need/level of care. On top of that, they have been there with me when I have had to put down three of my dogs. Always sympathetic and professional. Our dog thinks going to the vet is play time - he is always excited to be there and that is a good indicator of the excellent care and compassion you will find at the Pet Doctor. The staff are professional, concerned and friendly every time we show up. Our dog needed treatment for a very rare condition and not only was Dr. Linda able to relieve his problems with surgery and meds, but she researched his condition with other canine professionals before settling on his treatment plan. I was stunned at the extremely fair cost for all she did - and continues to do for him. All the vets at Pet Doctor are terrific and I've never hesitated to ask a question with regard to treatment. The final decision is always mine and they abide by that. I cannot speak highly enough of this entire practice and now have the rest of the family and their four legged buddies coming here as patients!

Ok let's start. This place will leave you dog gone happy you came. Yes, they do run tests. Isn't that why you take your pet to the vet? If not, then you have unrealistic expectations. I've been using Linda as my vet for 14 years. I have been able to call her in the middle of the night when I was at the emergency vet (and she told me that she would get me in first thing the next day and operate). She's phenomenal. The staff are all nice and wonderful.

You love your pet and you don't want just anyone taking care of them, right? Well, the doctors here are second to none when it comes to taking care of your pet. They were compassionate, accommodating, and thorough in their care. When my dog was in pain, they made time in their schedules to get her in. No matter who you get as your doctor, you're pet will be in great and loving hands. The staff is friendly, facilities are clean and private, their explanations are thorough, and they are passionate about helping our pets.

Our pets have been patients at the Pet Doctor for over 3 years and we couldn't be happier with the care they have been given. Dr. Will Dunaway is our veterinarian and he's smart, kind, compassionate and practical.
Above and beyond the basic check-ups and care, he's provided services to our dog who had a multitude of health problems culminating in cancer. Throughout the process, he was quick to suggest diagnostic routes to take which were effective and efficient for our pup's care and conscientious of our personal finances. At other care providers we've been sold sometimes unneccessary services or the care given hasn't been explained well.
After our experience with Dr. Dunaway, we couldn't ask for a better veterinarian and we won't be going anywhere else!

I found a great new dr for my 3 pups! They are very reasonably priced and took very good care of my dogs who are much like my children. The ladies working at front were very polite, professional and helpful! The vet techs were all very pleasant and tried to help me manage all my dogs they even opened my car door so I could put them in! It was great to see that people still have customer service! The doctor answered all my questions and was extremely thorough he usually gave me two options for treatment the extra precaution route which as usual would cost more or the lower cost but still fixing everything route which I appreciate because not everyone can afford the former. It's nice to be able to pick what you can afford and what you think would better suite your animal guided by a doctors opinion. I hate when doctors tell you you "have to" he wasn't like that at all.. Like I said options are a must! I just absolutely love this place and if your looking for a vet I would highly recommend them!

Dr. Linda and the staff at The Pet Doctor are the best in town. We originally went there to have our rabbit Widget spayed, and have since taken just about everyone of our furry kids for treatment. They treat their patients and the pet parents just like family. I recommend Dr Linda, Dr Wil, and Dr Marnie to everyone with furry family members!!

I first came to The Pet Doctor after a friends recommended them. They took such good care of her greyhounds. My Leela loved them. My dog was not normally okay going to a vets office, too many smells, but here she loved everyone she came in contact with. Her exam was thorough and I understood everything they explained to me. Leela even gave the vet tech a kiss after she took her rectal temperature. Had a wonderful experience. Unfortunately we had a tragedy in our that took the lives of Leela and her brother and sister kitties. When The Pet Doctor office staff found out they sent flowers to our home. A small condolence but it meant so much. I highly recommend this office for your fur babies. They will take care of you and your furry family members.

He slipped away peacefully with his head in my lap. The grace and love provided by all who work there surely lessoned the pain of this very hard day. I can't say enough great things about the Pet Doctor! We needed to find a new vet after moving from Virginia, and we feel so fortunate to have found them to take care of our kitties! Dr. Will Dunaway is highly professional, knowledgeable, and skilled and the staff has been nothing but helpful and supportive. We couldn't be more pleased. Dr. Will especially did an incredible job removing a tumor from a very tricky area around the eye of one of our cats. Thank you all again for everything!

Dr. Linda has staffed her clinic with kind, compassionate, knowledgeable people that truly care for your pet. I have been taking my fur babies to Linda and her staff for 9 years now. We've been in for everything from annual exams to shots to ear infections to cancer. My miniature schnauzer was diagnosed with cancer 4 and 1/2 years ago. All of the medical statistics to date pointed to a 100% chance of the cancer returning. Linda spent hours calling other vets and researching case studies and presented me with some possible options. With regular checkups and extra attention spent watching for signs, I can happily report he is still cancer free today. I recommend the Pet Doctor to all of my coworkers and friends when they ask about a vet. They treat every animal and owner as family!

We have been patient/clients of The Pet Doctor since January 2006. We live less than a mile from The Pet Doctor clinic, which is one of the reasons that we chose to take our pets there. Dr. Linda and The Pet Doctor staff have always treated our pets with dignity, respect, compassion, and concern for their well being. We always received post card notice in the mail when it was time for the annual checkup, be it shots or just a wellness exam, and we scheduled the time accordingly. On August 3, our beloved Dakota passed away. He collapsed in our back yard, we rushed him to the clinic, where Dr. Linda explained his situation, and we agreed on an appropriate action. The same concern, compassion, dignity, and respect for us and Dakota that we always were given during regular visits was evident at this traumatic time. We will have another pet someday, another mini dachshund because they are so smart, loving, funny, and a pure joy to have. And when we do, we will be calling The Pet Doctor to begin the same regimen of care that Dakota received. BTW, Dakota was a month and two days shy of his fifteenth birthday when he passed and we credit Dr. Linda and her staff for helping us keep Dakota strong and healthy during his life. Thank you Dr. Linda, The Pet Doctor staff, for your exemplary care and service. We shall return someday with a new pet.

Really good about communicating prices with need/level of care. On top of that, they have been there with me when I have had to put down three of my dogs. Always sympathetic and professional. A great group of people.

Our dog thinks going to the vet is play time - he is always excited to be there and that is a good indicator of the excellent care and compassion you will find at the Pet Doctor. The staff are professional, concerned and friendly every time we show up. Our dog needed treatment for a very rare condition and not only was Dr. Linda able to relieve his problems with surgery and meds, but she researched his condition with other canine professionals before settling on his treatment plan. I was stunned at the extremely fair cost for all she did - and continues to do for him. All the vets at Pet Doctor are terrific and I've never hesitated to ask a question with regard to treatment. The final decision is always mine and they abide by that. I cannot speak highly enough of this entire practice and now have the rest of the family and their four legged buddies coming here as patients!

Ok let's start. This place will leave you dog gone happy you came. Yes, they do run tests. Isn't that why you take your pet to the vet? If not, then you have unrealistic expectations. I've been using Linda as my vet for 14 years. I have been able to call her in the middle of the night when I was at the emergency vet (and she told me that she would get me in first thing the next day and operate). She's phenomenal. The staff are all nice and wonderful.

You love your pet and you don't want just anyone taking care of them, right? Well, the doctors here are second to none when it comes to taking care of your pet. They were compassionate, accommodating, and thorough in their care. When my dog was in pain, they made time in their schedules to get her in. No matter who you get as your doctor, you're pet will be in great and loving hands. The staff is friendly, facilities are clean and private, their explanations are thorough, and they are passionate about helping our pets.

Our pets have been patients at the Pet Doctor for over 3 years and we couldn't be happier with the care they have been given. Dr. Will Dunaway is our veterinarian and he's smart, kind, compassionate and practical.
Above and beyond the basic check-ups and care, he's provided services to our dog who had a multitude of health problems culminating in cancer. Throughout the process, he was quick to suggest diagnostic routes to take which were effective and efficient for our pup's care and conscientious of our personal finances. At other care providers we've been sold sometimes unneccessary services or the care given hasn't been explained well.
After our experience with Dr. Dunaway, we couldn't ask for a better veterinarian and we won't be going anywhere else!

I found a great new dr for my 3 pups! They are very reasonably priced and took very good care of my dogs who are much like my children. The ladies working at front were very polite, professional and helpful! The vet techs were all very pleasant and tried to help me manage all my dogs they even opened my car door so I could put them in! It was great to see that people still have customer service! The doctor answered all my questions and was extremely thorough he usually gave me two options for treatment the extra precaution route which as usual would cost more or the lower cost but still fixing everything route which I appreciate because not everyone can afford the former. It's nice to be able to pick what you can afford and what you think would better suite your animal guided by a doctors opinion. I hate when doctors tell you you "have to" he wasn't like that at all.. Like I said options are a must! I just absolutely love this place and if your looking for a vet I would highly recommend them!

They like to run expensive tests and their solutions are always wrong. Which resulted in the untimely death of some my pets. I would not recommend them.

Dr. Linda and the staff at The Pet Doctor are the best in town. We originally went there to have our rabbit Widget spayed, and have since taken just about everyone of our furry kids for treatment. They treat their patients and the pet parents just like family. I recommend Dr Linda, Dr Wil, and Dr Marnie to everyone with furry family members!!
