I have been taking my furry babies to Canyon Small Animal Hospital for about 10 years now, and everyone there is very kind, caring and professional. I always feel like my cats and myself are treated well and valued. The most recent visit was for my oldest cat Button (10 yrs old). She had been throwing up often for the last few years, but recently it started happening almost daily. I finally took her in and Dr. Bauscher examined her. He explained there were a few things that could cause her symptoms and explained why he thought her thyroid was the issue versus the other possibilities. I really appreciate how he explains things so I know what could be happening and the next steps we need to take to pinpoint the problem. After doing a few tests he called the next day and explained that it was Button’s thyroid and talked to me about all the options we could do to help her. I really appreciate Dr. Bauscher’s thoroughness in explaining the next steps and care options. I feel like my cats are in the best hands and although I have to drive from Nampa to go to Canyon Small Animal Hospital it is definitely worth it for the care my “babies” get. I would recommend them to anyone who has a sick pet.

We recently took our dog to have his foot examined. The staff was efficient and knowledgeable and attended our needs with friendliness. Prices are reasonable and service was prompt. Our dog was treated with gentleness and love. The doctor gave him a thorough examination and even gave us a follow-up call to check on progress.
I'm very happy with this business. It's located at a very convenient area in Caldwell which can be accessed from multiple directions. All my animal companions will visit here in the future.

I have been to other vets where you can tell the staff are just doing their job, but the staff who work here truly love animals and are so good to them- big difference!

Have been taking my cats here for years I had some issues back in 2013 getting to appointments. But haven't had issues since. Today after making an appointment I was called and told they couldn't see me because of no show appointments which I have no memory of happening. I have had to cancel last minute but never no show. Also the "note" has no record of the dates of these supposed no shows only the month and year they happened during. It has also been years since any of these happened. Refusing ... sorry not refusing I can still be seen but i have to go in and wait to see if no one else shows this is inappropriate. Especially when you don't give reminder calls or warnings that someone has had "to many no shows". These no shows were years apart as well. One in 2013 one in 2015 and I called (yes last min) for all canceled appointment. One more tid bit my memory of 2015 is hazy but if I remember correctly, the appointment I did go to back in 2015 was after the supposed no show of which I called and canceled. Shame on you.

I have been taking animals to Canyon Animal Hospital for over 20 years. Dr Bauscher is a very caring person who loves animals. He is very competent and gives you clear honest information. I have moved about 30 miles away from Caldwell and after trying a couple Vets in Boise I have returned to Canyon Animal Hospital for care for my two dogs. It is very much worth the drive for me.

Awesome Vet Hospital!
We have trusted our pets to Brett for over 20 years. He is always very careful to give us several options and explain what they will cost and what carrying them out will mean to the animal. He is loving and gentle with the pets, kind to our young son, and compassionate when the prognosis for the pet is not good. His staff are courteous and professional, and on the rare occasions (there are going to some in over 20 years!) when an employee was having a bad day or made a mistake, Brett took immediate action to rectify the matter.
Brett is amazing at what he does--so much so that national pet food companies seek his expertise. I give Dr. Brett Bauscher and Canyon Small Animal Hospital my unreserved highest recommendation!

But today I took my dog in for follow up appointment due to her having surgery there 1 1/2 weeks ago. JUST A FOLLOWUP AND NAIL CLIPPING WHICH TOOK 5 MINUTES. Did not see vet. Was told by 1 person there was no charge due to being followup SAME THING IN HOSPITALS. NO CHARGE FOR FOLLOW UP.after being told that since we didn't see vet there was no fee we left. I was called at home and told to drive back to office and pay bill. It was outrageous price. I was told they needed payment immediately. So I paid over phone. Made me upset because we didn't see vet and got charged 49.00 dollar

Love the care of Canyon Small Animal Hospital! Dr. Brett Bauscher and his staff put the care of your pet first! Great services at a reasonable price.
Dr. Bauscher did an excellent job repairing my Gabby after an accident that cut her back open. She did not have any complications from her difficult surgery and healed very well.
I have also boarded her when we have had to travel. When I arrived to pick her up she had been bathed and looked healthy and happy; well cared for.
I have always received great advice on her care and have never felt pressured to spend unnecessarly.

My wife and I have taken 3 of our cats there and we were very impressed with the knowledge of the staff and the hospitality directed to our pets and us. On our last visit it was an emergency the day after New Years for our Cat Shadow. I called a 7:50 (open at 8) and they answered the phone. I explained the situation with our cat and how worried we were and they took us in right away. Shadow was seen by 8:30. We are so thankful and Shadow is doing so much better today. During the examination, we noticed how gentle they were with treatment and not at all loud. At no time did we feel uneasy with the practice. Everything was explained to us in detail and why it was needed. All of our questions were answered and at no time did we feel like the Dr. was a sales peson. They truly cared. We are very thankful and informed them that this day forward, we are changing from our old Vet Clinic to them. Very respectfully, The Garouttes Caldwell, Idaho

I have been taking my furry babies to Canyon Small Animal Hospital for about 10 years now, and everyone there is very kind, caring and professional. I always feel like my cats and myself are treated well and valued. The most recent visit was for my oldest cat Button (10 yrs old). We recently took our dog to have his foot examined. The staff was efficient and knowledgeable and attended our needs with friendliness. Prices are reasonable and service was prompt. We have trusted our pets to Brett for over 20 years. He is always very careful to give us several options and explain what they will cost and what carrying them out will mean to the animal. He is loving and gentle with the pets, kind to our young son, and compassionate when the prognosis for the pet is not good. His staff are courteous and professional, and on the rare occasions (there are going to some in over 20 years!) when an employee was having a bad day or made a mistake, Brett took immediate action to rectify the matter.

We love our vet! After having dealt with a couple clinics who are owned by vets who seem to be completely bothered by our energetic labs, we have found that Dr. Bauscher and his staff are very kind, patient and loving toward our dogs and we always feel welcome and at ease.

We have had excellent care from this small animal hospital for last 4 1/2 years. We have taken 3 dogs and a cat to this nice place.
But today I took my dog in for follow up appointment due to her having surgery there 1 1/2 weeks ago. JUST A FOLLOWUP AND NAIL CLIPPING WHICH TOOK 5 MINUTES. Did not see vet. Was told by 1 person there was no charge due to being followup SAME THING IN HOSPITALS. NO CHARGE FOR FOLLOW UP.after being told that since we didn't see vet there was no fee we left. I was called at home and told to drive back to office and pay bill. It was outrageous price. I was told they needed payment immediately. So I paid over phone. Made me upset because we didn't see vet and got charged 49.00 dollar

Love the care of Canyon Small Animal Hospital! Dr. Brett Bauscher and his staff put the care of your pet first! Great services at a reasonable price.
Dr. Bauscher did an excellent job repairing my Gabby after an accident that cut her back open. She did not have any complications from her difficult surgery and healed very well.
I have also boarded her when we have had to travel. When I arrived to pick her up she had been bathed and looked healthy and happy; well cared for.
I have always received great advice on her care and have never felt pressured to spend unnecessarly.

My wife and I have taken 3 of our cats there and we were very impressed with the knowledge of the staff and the hospitality directed to our pets and us. On our last visit it was an emergency the day after New Years for our Cat Shadow. I called a 7:50 (open at 8) and they answered the phone. I explained the situation with our cat and how worried we were and they took us in right away. Shadow was seen by 8:30. We are so thankful and Shadow is doing so much better today. During the examination, we noticed how gentle they were with treatment and not at all loud. At no time did we feel uneasy with the practice. Everything was explained to us in detail and why it was needed. All of our questions were answered and at no time did we feel like the Dr. was a sales peson. They truly cared. We are very thankful and informed them that this day forward, we are changing from our old Vet Clinic to them. Very respectfully, The Garouttes Caldwell, Idaho

I have had my animals into Dr. Bauscher for over 15 years. You could not ask for a better vet and staff. They are like family to me. They have saved a few of my furry babies and when I had to put my dog down they were so companionate about the whole thing. They even sent me a card with her paw print. We have taken our 4 L's (Linus, Luci, Leo and Lindy) to CSAH for sometime now. Everyone there treats our kids like they are their own. It is great to see the professionalism but to see the love, thats whats impressive. Dr B is the best, always lets us know whats going on so we know how to deal with what ever comes up. If you live in Caldwell or Nampa this is the only place to bring you fur buddies.
