We had been bringing our dog to Dr. Williams for a couple years for routine procedures and hadn’t had a problem. In the past 6 months, our dog started loosing a lot of weight unexplainably and throwing up. Dr. Williams believed it to be a food intolerance so we spent hundreds of dollars over the course of a few months on different medicated dog food, blood tests, x-rays and other procedures. He found nothing besides an enlarged liver, which I find hard to believe, and yet he continued to recommend different food and more exams, all of which weren’t cheap. We trusted him as he was a vet and we wouldn’t have known any different. A couple weeks ago he had swelling in his stomach and when we took him in, they did an ultrasound and found cancer. The Dr. called me and said that he would need to be put down that afternoon and when I asked if we could have the weekend with him, I was advised strongly against bringing him home and that he was in great distress and pain. He was fine when I took him in a couple hours prior. After regaining our composure and emotion, we went and got him so that we could have him put to sleep in our home and have one last day with him. It wasn’t going to happen like that. Thinking he was going to look greatly different and in pain, He was like a puppy when we picked him up, obviously relieved to get out of there. After calling us with warnings that afternoon, he ended the phone call with, “we’ll send your invoice in the mail.” We don’t understand why he wasn’t able to diagnose it or think to do an ultrasound earlier, especially with his symptoms and were disappointed with his bedside manner. It wouldn’t have changed that he had cancer but it would have given us time to come to terms with it, saved us hundreds of dollars and not been so devastating and sudden. Luckily we had the lovely people at Gentle Goodbyes help us have a peaceful experience, one we would not have had with Dr. Williams. The staff are lovely but we do not trust him and would recommend taking your pets elsewhere for serious concerns. Read Less
