Took my 3 year old dog in for a swollen leg. Was recommended blood test..xrays..steroids ..antibiotics...eye drops.i told them id try the antibiotics and steroids 1st. 269.00. Went back for follow up 5 days later he was healed in a 5 minute exam. 69.00. What is,sad they were willing to try and get xrays and blood work done when not needed at an estimate of 500.00 when not even needed. Love the doggie daycare/ boarding that they have available. My dog loves going for the whole day to play with his friends. Even waits by the door in the morning hoping to go. Only 4 stars because I don't love the vet hospital side. Not impressed with all the charges for one visit or just shots. But it is very convenient that you can leave the dog for day care all day and he can get a vet visit in the same day. Read Less

Our experience with these people was HORRIFIC!!!! I have tried to talk with Kimberly, the facility director, she was unapologetic and defended the unbelievable actions of her staff without actually answering any of my questions. Her go to was that I don't listen and I tied the hands of her doctor by not allowing an emergency C section on my dog. They are one trick ponies! If you value your pets well being or your life savings DO NOT use this facility!!! If however you are looking for the only possible option to help your pet as an emergency C section and APPALLING SERVICE from the manager on down......this is the place for you! THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT HOW MUCH MONEY THEY CAN MAKE FROM YOU!!!!! They actually stuck us in a room with our dog that was in the middle of giving birth with no direction,... no anything and went to lunch. That is only the tip of the iceberg. IF YOU VALUE YOUR PET OR YOUR LIFE SAVINGS NEVER GO HERE. If I could give them -100 stars I would. Long story short, they are the reason our puppies are dead. Their doctors and administration are completely incompetent. They are only in this profession for the money and not there for helping animals. Dr. Roth is unknowledgable and literally told us he watches YouTube videos to know how to perform procedures. Completely unprofessional. We were left unattended in a room for an hour with our dog in labor, only to find out all the doctors had left for lunch without telling us anything. I absolutely LOVE this place. I was looking for a place to board my sweet Boston terrier, Paisley, and saw the reviews on this vet and took her here. Not only did they take excellent care of her, they send you daily photo updates of your fur baby each day by email! That was such a huge peace of mind for me to get a cute little picture of her every day, it made me so happy. I’m definitely going to be using Intermountain as her new go to Vet and boarding service when i need to again 😊 take you fur babies here, you won’t be disappointed. Read Less

We've done all of our vet care here at Intermountain Pet hospital. We really like the staff members both at the front desk, in the checkup room, and all of the veterinarians are incredibly helpful and kind. They are really great about staying in contact with us about upcoming needs for our pet, scheduled visits, or yearly check-ups. They do a good job of not spamming our email or phones with those updates, but they do send them just enough to keep all of our pet needs in the forefront of our mind. Besides that small confusion their was plenty of room to park. They sent us a very detailed emails about what we needed to keep in mind and do for our dog after he was neutered. It was really handy to have all of their info afterwards, it really put our mind at ease and made for as speedy recovery as possible for our puppy. Their entrance can be a bit confusing. They share an entrance off of Overland with another business and i went into the wrong parking lot initially. We recently had a sad issue with our sweet rabbit and unfortunately, we had to put her down. I was skeptical bringing her in, not sure what type of care we would receive. The nurses were so kind and the Dr. Was strait on with what was going on, her knowledge was incredible and you could tell non of them were there to get your money and pull your leg. The process of letting go wasn't easy, however they were so warm hearted and made sure, they were doing all they could to comfort and be there to the end. Amazing people.. I just moved to the area and was hesitant about bringing my cat to a new vet. I went to Intermountain and was so happy with this pet hospital. The staff was BEYOND friendly and knowledgeable. They made me and my baby feel comfortable. The doctor helped us quickly and provided us with an affordable solution. The office was clean and tidy. This will 100% be my new permanent vet. I am absolutely floored. I have never had an experience like this at a vet. I brought in my snake (which is already incredibly difficult to find a credible reptile vet around Boise), and they treated him with so much care when he was already stressed and visibly upset. These guys are the best!! I took my little mini Aussie Frank was not in good shape on a Saturday afternoon and was referred by a friend. I had never been here until then, they saw him right away and pretty much had emergency surgery that day. I was impressed by the compassion shown to us by Dr Bingham and other staff members when our dog passed unexpectedly. When we left the hospital there was a candle lit at the reception desk with a sign asking visitors to lower their voices because someone was saying goodbye to their pet. Dr Bingham was prompt and called the next day with the result of the necropsy which gave us peace of mind in knowing why our dog passed so quickly. Later we received a card from the doctor with a personal, handwritten note of sympathy. Read Less

Very aware of potential difficulties. Our little guy needed a quick shot, right as two big dogs were coming in the door. They quickly moved us into the lab to give the shot, even though it isn't really designed for that. But made for a quicker and calmer visit for everyone. Read Less

I think you need to take the word "Hospital" out of your sign. Its very misleading. Yesterday we drove from Harris Ranch to your location in Meridian because I wanted your vets to look at my puppy. Your parking lot was pretty empty an there wasn't anyone in your lobby. Your girls were all standing around, and your phone wasnt ringing. I told your front desk person that my puppy had just broken her foot and she was in a lot of pain. She asked me if I had an "appointment". Of course I didn't because this was an unplanned event. She couldn't seem to fit me in nor did she act like she cared to. She actually shrugged her shoulders like it was hopeless. It wasnt just rude but the strangest experience I've ever had in this kind of situation. I'm really sorry your staff treated us this way, because I know you have good Vets back there. My granddaughter was with she was crying because we had to find another place to get Maggie help. She didn't understand why you couldn't help. I told her that your place doesn't take care of emergencies. Hospitals take care of emergencies. Youre not a Hospital. We went up the street to All Valley Animal Care Center. All Valley was super busy. Lots of people and pets in the lobby, parking lot was full, phones were ringing and the front desk team was working hard to take care of everyone. When told them my puppy's foot was broken, they had us in a room within minutes. They took x-rays, and got her comfortable with pain medicine. She ended up having to stay for the day so they could reset her foot. She ended up getting it reset and wrapped with an apt. later this week with an Orthopedic Vet. Of course this all took some time to get it done, but they considered a broken foot a priority. Why don't you?Read Less

They did a blood transfusion on our kitty after he had a bad prognosis and every single member of the staff has been incredible! We've been in the clinic at least a dozen times since the end of December trying to figure out what was wrong and they are always so kind and helpful. I cannot express the gratitude I have for Dr. Wick and Dr. Hunt, they have stayed late and come in on days off in part to help Henry and because of them he is back to his healthy self. **My initial review- We had our first visit at Intermountain Pet Hospital last week. The staff is great and very friendly! From the initial phone call to arrival, it was by far some of the best customer service I have had from a business in quite awhile. Very pleased with our overall experience and would definitely recommend them. *** I would like to edit my review based on my recent experience and interaction with staff today. I purchased a "puppy package" a year ago to which it includes "all core vaccines" I was told by the receptionist I was cleared to come in a month early to vaccinate my dog because I am getting a new puppy. I confirmed my package was still in effect and that it would cover all of my visit costs and vaccinations for today. When I arrived today, I waited longer than necessary while staff tried to get to the bottom of the miscommunication. A staff member by the name of Veronica finally came in to explain the puppy package only included the first three sets of shots. I was told I would be responsible for all vaccines and visit totaling over $100. I declined and left. The paper I took home explaining their "puppy package" today, still lists "all core vaccines" within the first year. Perhaps it should be edited to only three initial sets of vaccinations for further clarification from unexpected members like myself, who purchase their packages. It was also explained the packages have changed since then because of issues with it not being clear. Despite what the new package offers, my package should be honored based on what I purchased and its coverage a year ago. Not one staff member tried to offer some type of solution to make their mistake right. I planned on bringing my new puppy in as well. I will be looking for another vet! My son's vet so he recommended this vet office to me when I moved here. Intermountain Pet has been very caring and loving towards my dogs and cat I have taken there. I had to put my old cat down when she broke her spine and other issues were there. They were so nice and give you a home like feel room and all the time you need to say your last good byes. (I have been there when my son had to put his old dog down too). Afterwards you can have your pets ashes spread at Donellys Christmas Tree Farm if you choose. Which I choose. My recent visit I called that day, got an appt that day, and was seen right away when I got there. I had to wait for blood test maybe 20min, but that's probably the longest wait always. All the doctors there have always been very professional, carrying towards my pets needs and mine. I love this place and would recommend it. I find no matter what vet you go to I find they are expensive. I have found out you can get the meds cheaper if you order them online, but then again you need to wait a few days more to get them. Not worth the wait when my animals life maybe on the line. I rated them a 4 as I believe everyone as room for improvement.Read Less

I was referred to this vet by another vet in the area because I needed to get my cat declawed and was told that Intermountain Hospital was the place to go to get it done. After talking to the front staff, they told me that yes, the do indeed do declaws on a case by case basis and that I would just have to meet with the Vet first before the surgery could be scheduled. So this morning I went to meet Dr. Shapero and explain to him why I needed my cat declawed. I explained to him that the cat was essentially a therapy cat for my son helping him recoup after heart surgery with more to come, that we had moved here in an emergency situation to get away from my drug addict spouse and were now living with my dad and that my cat was clawing up the furniture. Told him that if I didn't get her declawed I would have to put her down..he looked at me and said we don't declaw cats, it's not in their best welfare etc. I asked him why I'd been referred here, why I was told by front staff that they did do declaws and as I was near tears asked him how can it be better for a cat to be euthanized than declawed? He had no answers for me just that he wouldn't do it, I was not only made to feel like a terrible human being but wasted my time here..Read Less

I have been bringing my hedgehogs to Dr. Konsella (sorry if I misspelt that) for about 2 ish years. My first hedgehog was not well taken care of before I got him and when we took him in he had a growth on his back. The staff and Dr. Konsella were kind, professional and understanding. A year after we first brought my hedgehog, Hank, in we had to put him down because he had cancer and was fading. The entire hospital was kind and made it a lot easier. They send a card and donated money to a foundation in Hank's name. I trusted them to care for his body respectfully. On a happier note, about a year ago I brought a new hedgehog in. Her name is Ivory. They were careful and understanding with her, and explained everything that was going on. We will be taking Ivory in again soon since she will be a year old and needs an annual exam. I trust all of their staff with my animals and would suggest them to anyone. Today, I job shadowed two of the techs and saw more of behind the scenes info. They are always respectful but casual enough not to make you uncomfortable. I will be job shadowing there again soon. Our senior German Shepherd, Sasha, took a very fast turn in her health. We knew that she would not recover and had to make one of the hardest decisions we've been faced with, to tell our sweet girl of 15 years goodbye. It was Sunday and our normal vet was closed, we didn't want Sasha to suffer so I called Intermountain Pet Hospital. Thru my tears I explained our situation. They got us in that same day, and were so caring, kind, and understanding. They were genuinely sharing our pain. They made Sasha comfortable, and helped us know we were doing the best thing for her. They listened to our stories about her life, and let us take as much time as we needed with her. Just took our pup in to be spayed. They texted me updates and the doctor called when she was done. I appreciated the updates and call! They also chipped and updated her shots then to top it off trimmed her nails and we didn't even ask for that! The care was excellent and she is doing beautifully today. My parents have taken their dog here for years and always raved about the care. We loved the care they gave our baby and the price was reasonable. thank you! Read Less

Understanding that it was a Sunday and they were understaffed! I arrived for my scheduled appointment and was put in a room relatively quickly. I was informed there was only one doctor in today and it would be a while in which I sat for 40 minutes before seeing anyone! During this time I could hear part of the staff complaining about of the individuals who were asking about the long wait times. Dr Wicks was awesome and is the only reason this rating is a 2! He was quick to decision and provided great breakdowns of the situation and didn't waste any time. We went for X-rays and a blood work up! These were quick to get accomplished and back to the room to wait the standard 30 minutes for blood work to turn around! After 30 minutes they informed me that the blood panel was done and the doc would be in shortly to give me the results. 40 minutes later he was able to get a break from the others in order to come in and give me the results! Let me be clear the Dr. Wicks was awesome and deserves a better staff to support him! More doctors would have nice but I understand it was Sunday! Two and a half hours is ridiculous! To be fair, we like the care our dog receives from the veterinarians and support staff at the Overland Road location. Our dog is excited to go to the vet and has also been part of the doggy day camps, which he loves. We boarded our dog this past weekend for four nights. I called and scheduled the boarding, a check up, and to have our dog micro-chipped during his stay. When my husband dropped him off, none of those extra items were booked so he had to re-book them. It wasn't a huge deal, just a communication annoyance. Upon picking up our dog, they brought out his toys and I asked where his dog bed was. They said, "It wasn't in his cage." I asked them where it might be. They told me it could be in the laundry room but they weren't sure which was his. There are a couple concerns with this. 1) we left a list of items that we dropped off and, as a professional boarding place, they should have left notes/descriptions for themselves to identify items if the items had to be removed from the kennel for cleaning. 2) Our dog is house broken. In order for him to have soiled his dog bed he must not have been taken out every four hours, as promised. I can't fathom why else his bed would be in the laundry other than if he had an accident. Each of my concerns were met with blank stares and "I don't knows" until I think they realized how upset I was that I couldn't get any answers. Finally one of the employees apologized and said she would call me about the bed. In this case, I wasn't a huge help because the bed was new and my husband dropped it off so I couldn't give a good description. I understand if the staff this morning was not the same staff over the weekend and they legitimately don't know why certain things did or did not happen. However, the processes seem to be broken. There should be logs, notes, etc. they are required to keep up with to communicate anything a pet owner might need to know about their dog of the personal items left in IPH's care. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else or to us again, but wanted to post details about the inconsistencies in communication as a word of caution to consumers but also in hopes that IPH reads reviews and will consider updating their processes so they can give better customer service. I took my cat in to this vet for her foot. I thought it was an abscess. The vet looked at her teeth then glanced at the oozy foot and said well we'll probably need to keep her, let me get you an estimate... I got my estimate of $503!!!! I said ummm noooooo that's ok and took her to Caldwell to my normal vet and my total bill was$100 which included all of her shots and antibiotics and exam fee. I still had pay the other vet the $65 exam-less fee, but I won't be going back to this place.. That's ridiculous! Read Less

Dr Wick and Dr Roth were both outstanding when my dog was so sick we had to euthanize him. They were very compassionate and caring, and made a very difficult decision a little less so. The Vet techs were great also, both times I had to take him in, one of them was by our sides at all times, reassuring him and me. I would recommend them to any one for vet care. We have visited the clinic with our lovely dog a couple of times for check ups and a minor injury. The most notable visit that really highlights how much they care about animals was when we brought our dog in to have her teeth cleaned. She (the dog) was relatively fine, I was the nervous one. The kind, caring professionals at the clinic were so wonderful to text me throughout the day to let me know how she was doing. They even sent some pictures of our sweet dog. I loved it so much I have not deleted the message stream from the phone. They really are so kind to both their canine and human clients. I would highly recommend them. Read Less
