I just had the oddest situation here this morning. I took my dog in for renewal of his rabies shot. I have been going here for years. The vet told me that it wasn't a "renewal" because the last shot he received was in 2011. I explained that the last shot was a little over a year ago and that yes, he gave my dog the shot. He said, "Impossible. If he had a shot, it wasn't here." I said sheepishly, maybe it was never written down? He said, "Absolutely not." I just kept quiet, he gave my dog the shot, I paid and left bewildered.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Kindness use to be a great animal hospital, but now all the people that work there are nothing but rude. I made an appointment for my cat who they have seen before but told be they don't have record of him then told me they aren't taking new customers. They ended up scheduling him after I have said they have seen all my other animals. Got a time and I asked if my husband drops him off can my mom pick him up. They said yes, but then told my husband they don't do drop offs. Next I tried to get my dog who has cancer (they were the first to diagnose it about 6 months ago) a refill on his medicine, but they said they won't do that until he has been seen again and hung up on me. So I called back to see if I could get an appointment for him and they said they are booked out a week.
I have been going there for well over 10 years for my small animals, but will never go back or refer anyone to them. Worst place to take your animals.

If you are not already a client here don't bother contacting them. I was adopted by a female stray cat who probably needs at least the basic vaccinations. Called to inquire about shots and was immediately asked if they have seen me before. As soon as I said no I was told 'the doctor is not taking new clients' in no uncertain terms. Receptionist needs to work on her customer relations and telephone skills. A little more patience with me on the phone and a referral to another vet would have been good. I got neither.

We've been taking our pups to Dr. Maendl for quite a few years. He is always kind, compassionate and willing to take the time to answer questions and educate us. Just yesterday we had to make the heart wrenching decision to put our sweet Luna down and Dr. Maendl was so kind and showed such compassion. He reassured us that we were making the best choice and that he understood how we felt. After reading other people's reviews, it makes me sad that people have said some pret...ty horrible things about this man and his practice. Not once have we ever received the kind of treatment that I've seen some describing. We've always been treated with kindness and respect. We trust Dr. Maendl completely with our animals. I know the man has to be incredibly busy and probably exhausted but he always calls to give updates or results. Even if it's 9p.m. His willingness to care for our girl Luna on the spot and to make the time to take our numerous phone calls really means a lot and is a comfort in those times of feeling completely helpless. I really liked Dr. Mendel and the staff, but when I called on a quote to see how much it would cos to fix my dog they wanted $400. All the other vet clinics I called were AT LEAST $200 cheaper including All Valley Animal Hospital which is a HUGE vet clinic. I was super disappointed when I realized how expensive they were and how much I over paid when I took my dog there for his bladder infection.

We brought in a dog that had been hit by a car. Because the owners weren't home and we didn't know how to contact them, they turned us away because they weren't sure if someone could pay for it. The dog was dying. They didn't care, they wouldn't even see her. If you don't care about animals, don't be a vet. The dog, to my knowledge lived, thanks to the Humane Society and another vet in Meridian. The owners were with her. I'm not sure if she's still alive, but she was the last time I heard. But this place was horrible. Bring your business somewhere where they actually care.

We have been taking our animals there for years, Dr. Julie was amazing with our cat a couple years ago. He had a upper respiratory issue and kidneys we're failing. She gave us treatment for cheap because we were very broke at the time. He survived. My mother in law also takes her three dogs there for years now. At some point between getting our cat seen and last year, they got a new Vet. They were great when we had to put her youngest pup down due to a seizure about 1 year ago. But when our other pup had an episode 3 months ago, we called to get an emergency visit and were referred to a 24 hr Vet in Meridian. We went there and found that he had cancer everywhere..he had weeks to live. We got meds and went home to enjoy him for the time we had. 1 week later he went down hill bad, we called Kindness to get him put down because he was in pain and dying. They didn't have an opening. We were referred once again to the 24 hr one. We just wanted to have him put down where our first pup was put down. We were very distraught and very mad that they didn't have "time" to help us say goodbye to our little guy. We were loyal customers here. My mother in law was crushed. They were much more helpful and willing to give their time before this new Vet. I feel he doesn't care about people's feelings. It's about the money and their schedule. We are actively looking for another Vet. We will not be back.

This place is the worst. Their staff is rude. Although the vets have been helpful, my cat was subjected to more steroids than necessary because the vet wouldn't give a one-time shot for a skin allegry. Instead, she required, not recommended, a series of liquid steroids that were diluted. They didn't work and were costly. In the end, my cat had to have the shot that I wanted in the first place. Like I said the staff was rude. This occurred on more than one occasion. The last time I requested anything from this facility was a query to board my cat. When I asked for the cost of the boarding, the staff simply told me that they were full....and this was before they knew the dates that I needed! I will never recommend this place.

After moving here from nevada we needed a vet to take my old tabby to that has urinary problems. This vet was relatively close to where we lived so we chose it. When she had a urinary infection they were pretty good about getting her in and not charging an arm and a leg. However it seems they are just out for money now. My cat has been on the same special urinary food for about 6 years now and without it she gets really sick. When I went in to pick up a bag yesterday the front desk lady told me that they would not sell me another bag until we brought her in for a 50$ exam. When I said ok but she is out of cat food and will get sick can I buy a bag now and then make an appointment before I have to get the next bag she told me no. She was extremely rude and did not care about my cat one bit. I left and called the vet my fiance uses and asked if I could buy it from them and they said sure. I have NEVER had a vet do this to me. It is clear they just want the money for the exam and when I'm paying $45 for a bag of catfood it's ridiculous.. the other vet charged me $30 for the same food.

I have a 4 month old with cherry eye I called daily for a price on her surgery yes we had a follow up appointment from you guys doing her shots and looking at her eye. but my husband said get her back in there and get it done. We didnt want anything to happen and her loose her eye. I called for days and a quote was never done. I called yesterday and said look I need the quote or I need to go elsewhere the doctor called late evening and quoted me 875.00 I then called 5 other places just this morning and to have the cherry eye removed or pinned it's 75.00 to 200.00 this includes everything anesthesia plus meds. So because I stated I would go elsewhere is this why you raised your costs???? Just wondering I can give u 5 other vets names they all said your out of line on this price. All were and are happy to earn my business I am sorry but I won't be back. My girl is having surgery Thursday morning.

This place is the worst. After paying almost $900 to have my dogs tumor removed I took her back in 2 weeks later to have her stitches removed. A few days after her surgery she developed a constant cough. Granted, she does have a heart murmur that causes her to cough from time to time but not constantly. When the Dr. called about 10 days after her surgery with the pathology report I informed her of the cough. On the day I took her in to have her stitches removed the Dr. said once she removed them she would listen to her lungs to make sure there wasn't any fluid in her lungs. She also took her temperature. When it came time to check out I was expecting to pay for the antibiotics for the cough but not a recheck exam fee (the suture removal was part of the initial cost). I was not happy that they were charging me $30 to listen to her lungs and take her temp. I did not ask them to do so nor did they inform me that taking an extra 3-5 min to listen to her lungs was considered a "recheck exam" I received a letter in the mail stating that they were sorry I did not feel their services were worth paying for and was asked to find another Vet to continue the care elsewhere. One would think that a Vet would have the respect and dignity to inform you of "extra" charges before performing an exam that you weren't there in the first place for and after spending hundreds of dollars just 2 weeks earlier that they would charge you at all for 3 minutes of work. But this just goes along with all the other reviews of this Clinic.....MONEY HUNGARY!!! RUDE STAFF!!! NO MORALS!!! There is NOTHING "Kind" about this group of Dr's or the staff.

They saved my little schipperke Cappy's life at least 4 times. she was my first dog and my baby but had a lot of problems due to being born in a puppy mill. They took such good care of her through scary surgeries, epileptic seizures, pancreatic problems and the last 2 years of her life she became a diabetic and to have 2 shots a day and then she went blind it was very sad but live 2 more happy years

This I such a wonderful veterinarian hospital! Kindness small animal has been so wonderful to us and our dog. Dr. Maendl called us on a Saturday night at 8 pm and then again on Monday night at 8 pm to answer some questions we had. He always called us when he said he would. He was very compassionate and kind to our dog. The office staff is also wonderful! They always have a smile on their face and willing to answer questions when they can. We were first recommended to Kindness by the Nampa Animal Control officer after our 2 dogs were attacked and nearly killed by a pair of by pitbulls and another mixed breed . Our dogs were in our yard and on our porch when they were attacked. Our cat who was also in our yard did not make it to the vet before dying of her injuries.
The staff at Kindness were professional, concerned and caring. We have had nothing but the best experiences with them, Both dogs survived, and were taken very good care of.
Last night we had to face the task of putting down my 12 yr old dog. The staff were very compassionate, allowed us to be with him until he has passed, and stayed late so we could be alone with our dying friend. I would recommend this Vets office wholeheartedly, as they do live up to their name: "Kindness"

Worst experience I have ever had in any type of medical field. I was told an amount that I would pay for the procedure. Upon showing up for the procedure I was given papers to sign regarding the anesthesia. After reviewing the paperwork I started asking more questions on the price because the paper contradicted what I was told the price would be. I was then called a liar and told that they don't give prices the doctors do. After a lengthy argument I was told to leave and they refused to treat my dog. This place is more interested in digging into customers pockets and trying to set a trap for an expensive profitable visit. I would never refer anyone to here.

A very costly experience which resulted in a dead cat and no answers! Seems the center is more concerned with making money then providing answers. Would not recommend this clinic to anyone! I brought a sick cat into the clinic thinking the cat had been hit by a car. The vet suggested some x-rays, which seemed reasonable. After the x-rays were done, the vet pulled us back to review them. No broken bones, no acute abnormalities could be found. The vet recommended an overnight stay on oxygen. My husband initially declined saying that we would bring the cat home and monitor him overnight. The vet objected and then offered to euthanize the cat. We really felt like we did not have an option in treatment. So we reluctantly agreed to allow the cat to stay overnight. The office staff called us the next morning to say that our cat had died around midnight. Our total bill was over $400. $150 for 3 hours of oxygen!!!! And this DID NOT include disposing of the remains,etc. My husband ended up paying the bill and spoke with a different vet about what could have possible happened. NO ANSWERS, just offered to perform more testing ($$$) on an already dead cat! I contacted the office by email regarding my complaints and have not heard a word from them in response to my complaint. I will never return, or suggest that anyone else return! We paid a lot of money for NO ANSWERS, and A DEAD CAT!

I just had the oddest situation here this morning. I took my dog in for renewal of his rabies shot. I have been going here for years. The vet told me that it wasn't a "renewal" because the last shot he received was in 2011. I explained that the last shot was a little over a year ago and that yes, he gave my dog the shot. He said, "Impossible. If he had a shot, it wasn't here." I said sheepishly, maybe it was never written down? He said, "Absolutely not." I just kept quiet, he gave my dog the shot, I paid and left bewildered.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Kindness use to be a great animal hospital, but now all the people that work there are nothing but rude. I made an appointment for my cat who they have seen before but told be they don't have record of him then told me they aren't taking new customers. They ended up scheduling him after I have said they have seen all my other animals. Got a time and I asked if my husband drops him off can my mom pick him up. They said yes, but then told my husband they don't do drop offs. Next I tried to get my dog who has cancer (they were the first to diagnose it about 6 months ago) a refill on his medicine, but they said they won't do that until he has been seen again and hung up on me. So I called back to see if I could get an appointment for him and they said they are booked out a week.
I have been going there for well over 10 years for my small animals, but will never go back or refer anyone to them. Worst place to take your animals.

Called to inquire about shots and was immediately asked if they have seen me before. As soon as I said no I was told 'the doctor is not taking new clients' in no uncertain terms. Receptionist needs to work on her customer relations and telephone skills. A little more patience with me on the phone and a referral to another vet would have been good. I got neither.

We've been taking our pups to Dr. Maendl for quite a few years. He is always kind, compassionate and willing to take the time to answer questions and educate us. Just yesterday we had to make the heart wrenching decision to put our sweet Luna down and Dr. Maendl was so kind and showed such compassion. He reassured us that we were making the best choice and that he understood how we felt. After reading other people's reviews, it makes me sad that people have said some pret...ty horrible things about this man and his practice. Not once have we ever received the kind of treatment that I've seen some describing. We've always been treated with kindness and respect. We trust Dr. Maendl completely with our animals. I know the man has to be incredibly busy and probably exhausted but he always calls to give updates or results. Even if it's 9p.m. His willingness to care for our girl Luna on the spot and to make the time to take our numerous phone calls really means a lot and is a comfort in those times of feeling completely helpless. I really liked Dr. Mendel and the staff, but when I called on a quote to see how much it would cos to fix my dog they wanted $400. All the other vet clinics I called were AT LEAST $200 cheaper including All Valley Animal Hospital which is a HUGE vet clinic. I was super disappointed when I realized how expensive they were and how much I over paid when I took my dog there for his bladder infection.

We brought in a dog that had been hit by a car. Because the owners weren't home and we didn't know how to contact them, they turned us away because they weren't sure if someone could pay for it. The dog was dying. They didn't care, they wouldn't even see her. If you don't care about animals, don't be a vet. The dog, to my knowledge lived, thanks to the Humane Society and another vet in Meridian. The owners were with her. I'm not sure if she's still alive, but she was the last time I heard. But this place was horrible. Bring your business somewhere where they actually care.

We have been taking our animals there for years, Dr. Julie was amazing with our cat a couple years ago. He had a upper respiratory issue and kidneys we're failing. She gave us treatment for cheap because we were very broke at the time. He survived. My mother in law also takes her three dogs there for years now. At some point between getting our cat seen and last year, they got a new Vet. They were great when we had to put her youngest pup down due to a seizure about 1 year ago. But when our other pup had an episode 3 months ago, we called to get an emergency visit and were referred to a 24 hr Vet in Meridian. We went there and found that he had cancer everywhere..he had weeks to live. We got meds and went home to enjoy him for the time we had. 1 week later he went down hill bad, we called Kindness to get him put down because he was in pain and dying. They didn't have an opening. We were referred once again to the 24 hr one. We just wanted to have him put down where our first pup was put down. We were very distraught and very mad that they didn't have "time" to help us say goodbye to our little guy. We were loyal customers here. My mother in law was crushed. They were much more helpful and willing to give their time before this new Vet. I feel he doesn't care about people's feelings. It's about the money and their schedule. We are actively looking for another Vet. We will not be back.

This place is the worst. Their staff is rude. Although the vets have been helpful, my cat was subjected to more steroids than necessary because the vet wouldn't give a one-time shot for a skin allegry. Instead, she required, not recommended, a series of liquid steroids that were diluted. They didn't work and were costly. In the end, my cat had to have the shot that I wanted in the first place. Like I said the staff was rude. This occurred on more than one occasion. The last time I requested anything from this facility was a query to board my cat. When I asked for the cost of the boarding, the staff simply told me that they were full....and this was before they knew the dates that I needed! I will never recommend this place.

After moving here from nevada we needed a vet to take my old tabby to that has urinary problems. This vet was relatively close to where we lived so we chose it. When she had a urinary infection they were pretty good about getting her in and not charging an arm and a leg. However it seems they are just out for money now. My cat has been on the same special urinary food for about 6 years now and without it she gets really sick. When I went in to pick up a bag yesterday the front desk lady told me that they would not sell me another bag until we brought her in for a 50$ exam. When I said ok but she is out of cat food and will get sick can I buy a bag now and then make an appointment before I have to get the next bag she told me no. She was extremely rude and did not care about my cat one bit. I left and called the vet my fiance uses and asked if I could buy it from them and they said sure. I have NEVER had a vet do this to me. It is clear they just want the money for the exam and when I'm paying $45 for a bag of catfood it's ridiculous.. the other vet charged me $30 for the same food.

I have a 4 month old with cherry eye I called daily for a price on her surgery yes we had a follow up appointment from you guys doing her shots and looking at her eye. but my husband said get her back in there and get it done. We didnt want anything to happen and her loose her eye. I called for days and a quote was never done. I called yesterday and said look I need the quote or I need to go elsewhere the doctor called late evening and quoted me 875.00 I then called 5 other places just this morning and to have the cherry eye removed or pinned it's 75.00 to 200.00 this includes everything anesthesia plus meds. So because I stated I would go elsewhere is this why you raised your costs???? Just wondering I can give u 5 other vets names they all said your out of line on this price. All were and are happy to earn my business I am sorry but I won't be back. My girl is having surgery Thursday morning.

This place is the worst. After paying almost $900 to have my dogs tumor removed I took her back in 2 weeks later to have her stitches removed. A few days after her surgery she developed a constant cough. Granted, she does have a heart murmur that causes her to cough from time to time but not constantly. When the Dr. called about 10 days after her surgery with the pathology report I informed her of the cough. On the day I took her in to have her stitches removed the Dr. said once she removed them she would listen to her lungs to make sure there wasn't any fluid in her lungs. She also took her temperature. When it came time to check out I was expecting to pay for the antibiotics for the cough but not a recheck exam fee (the suture removal was part of the initial cost). I was not happy that they were charging me $30 to listen to her lungs and take her temp. I did not ask them to do so nor did they inform me that taking an extra 3-5 min to listen to her lungs was considered a "recheck exam" I received a letter in the mail stating that they were sorry I did not feel their services were worth paying for and was asked to find another Vet to continue the care elsewhere. One would think that a Vet would have the respect and dignity to inform you of "extra" charges before performing an exam that you weren't there in the first place for and after spending hundreds of dollars just 2 weeks earlier that they would charge you at all for 3 minutes of work. But this just goes along with all the other reviews of this Clinic.....MONEY HUNGARY!!! RUDE STAFF!!! NO MORALS!!! There is NOTHING "Kind" about this group of Dr's or the staff.

They saved my little schipperke Cappy's life at least 4 times. she was my first dog and my baby but had a lot of problems due to being born in a puppy mill. They took such good care of her through scary surgeries, epileptic seizures, pancreatic problems and the last 2 years of her life she became a diabetic and to have 2 shots a day and then she went blind it was very sad but live 2 more happy years

Dr. Maendl called us on a Saturday night at 8 pm and then again on Monday night at 8 pm to answer some questions we had. He always called us when he said he would. He was very compassionate and kind to our dog. The office staff is also wonderful! They always have a smile on their face and willing to answer questions when they can. We were first recommended to Kindness by the Nampa Animal Control officer after our 2 dogs were attacked and nearly killed by a pair of by pitbulls and another mixed breed . Our dogs were in our yard and on our porch when they were attacked. Our cat who was also in our yard did not make it to the vet before dying of her injuries.
The staff at Kindness were professional, concerned and caring. We have had nothing but the best experiences with them, Both dogs survived, and were taken very good care of.
Last night we had to face the task of putting down my 12 yr old dog. The staff were very compassionate, allowed us to be with him until he has passed, and stayed late so we could be alone with our dying friend. I would recommend this Vets office wholeheartedly, as they do live up to their name: "Kindness"

Worst experience I have ever had in any type of medical field. I was told an amount that I would pay for the procedure. Upon showing up for the procedure I was given papers to sign regarding the anesthesia. After reviewing the paperwork I started asking more questions on the price because the paper contradicted what I was told the price would be. I was then called a liar and told that they don't give prices the doctors do. After a lengthy argument I was told to leave and they refused to treat my dog. This place is more interested in digging into customers pockets and trying to set a trap for an expensive profitable visit. I would never refer anyone to here.

A very costly experience which resulted in a dead cat and no answers! Seems the center is more concerned with making money then providing answers. Would not recommend this clinic to anyone! I brought a sick cat into the clinic thinking the cat had been hit by a car. The vet suggested some x-rays, which seemed reasonable. After the x-rays were done, the vet pulled us back to review them. No broken bones, no acute abnormalities could be found. The vet recommended an overnight stay on oxygen. My husband initially declined saying that we would bring the cat home and monitor him overnight. The vet objected and then offered to euthanize the cat. We really felt like we did not have an option in treatment. So we reluctantly agreed to allow the cat to stay overnight. The office staff called us the next morning to say that our cat had died around midnight. Our total bill was over $400. $150 for 3 hours of oxygen!!!! And this DID NOT include disposing of the remains,etc. My husband ended up paying the bill and spoke with a different vet about what could have possible happened. NO ANSWERS, just offered to perform more testing ($$$) on an already dead cat! I contacted the office by email regarding my complaints and have not heard a word from them in response to my complaint. I will never return, or suggest that anyone else return! We paid a lot of money for NO ANSWERS, and A DEAD CAT!
