Arrived for my dog’s scheduled nail trim on time, tech arrived 25 minutes later. This is the norm for them. Asked the tech if she would inspect her paw as she has been licking it and I think there might be a sliver or something in there. She informed me that if an exam was required there would be an additional charge, I said that was fine. Precisely 6 minutes later I had my dog back with trimmed nails, the tech told me that the vet looked at her paw and didn’t see anything, but would I like some cream and a cone to help. I said sure. When I went to checkout the invoice was nearly $200, I was surprised. She gave me a breakdown of the charges where I learned I was charged a $60 exam fee. When the tech arrived with the cone that I told her I no longer wanted I asked her if she might know what is causing the foot irritation, she said they didn’t say. I asked if I could talk to a vet, she seemed surprised/annoyed and when she asked me to verify that this is what I wanted I said yeah, I got charged $60 (which is fine, I agreed to pay extra charges) so I’d at least like to talk to the vet. She said OK and walked away and then proceeded to turn back to me and said, “it’s going to be awhile so you’re going to have to be patient”. This is where I had enough of the lack of customer service and lack of education about my pet’s health. I gave the front desk attendant (who was very pleasant) my absolute disgust with the wait times for scheduled appointments and the attitude from the tech and told her I would figure out my dog’s foot issue another way and left. Less than 10 minutes later I received a call from the owner Dr. Zach. He asked for my experience with his team today and I told him. I thought that he was somehow going to make it right and make me feel comfortable continuing business with them, but I was 100% wrong. He talked to me in a very belittling and condescending manner. One example, I was telling him that I make it a point to get to my appointments on time and I would expect the same courtesy from them. He explained to me that they are short staffed and had unexpected surgeries that day, so they were running behind. He also told me that I ‘changed the rules’ in the middle of the game by asking for an extra service, I EXPLAINED THAT I WAITED 25 MINUTES PAST MY APPOINTMENT TIME BEFORE THEY EVEN KNEW ABOUT THE PAW ISSUE. He never understood this. I also explained that I am grateful that there are people that take care of these animals for a living and if they would just be transparent and honest about the situation when I arrive, I would be far more understanding. He said, “do you think we are back there sitting on our thumbs all day” I said no, so he said, “then why do I have to tell you anything”. This is when I was done with this conversation because it was counterproductive. I said let me ask you 2 things: (1) do you think that charging me $60 for an exam that took less than 6 minutes (they had my dog for 6 minutes and this included toenail trim) is reasonable, being ABUNDANTLY CLEAR THAT I DO NOT WANT A REFUND OR A REDUCTION IN MY BILL BECAUSE I DID AGREE TO PAY THE EXTRA FEE. He said, ‘Let me ask you this, do you think it’s fair for you to change the rules on us when you get here’. So, I assumed the answer is Yes, so fine. (2) Did you look at my dogs’ paw? At this point all I care about is what is wrong with her foot so did you examine her. He said no. I said so if you could find the Vet that did and let me know what might be wrong that would be amazing. So, he proceeded to put the phone aside and yell in the back room “who looked at the black labs foot”, someone said I did, he asked if she knew what was wrong with it, she said no. So, he came back on the phone and said, ‘we don’t know’. That is how the conversation ended. I am extremely disappointed with the lack of care for my dog and the unacceptable customer service. Dr. Zach should never be allowed to interact with the public. This review does not even do the conversation justice. Read Less
