We took out Papillon Abby here when she ate cotton and became very ill. They were great! They were able to see her right away and the doctor explained everything. He gave us options rather than pushing us to the most expensive option. We had to call back later that night for a question, the tech who helped Abby answered and was able to assist right away. I would note that some of the reviews here are correct, and that some of the staff seems a bit detached. I suspect this is the fault of not keeping good records. I had to call back the next day to ask a question, and I got a tech who hadn't been with Abby, but did remember her. I explained that she might be vomiting, and the vet said to call right away if she was because she might need to come in. The tech said we could bring her in if we wanted, but when I pressed to know if she thought we SHOULD as the vet said to call for a reason, the tech wasn't able to answer. Good documentation should prevent situations like that. This is an emergency vet. I paid more than I would if I had waited until Monday, and I want you to know that doing in. Yes, it will be very expensive. You have to decide if the condition your pet is in is worth the extra expense or if you want to wait to see your regular vet. I was happy to pay extra because they saved my dog's life by being open so late. Read Less

UPDATED AFTER MUCH BETTER EXPERIENCE SECOND TIME! We took our dog in on Sunday morning to get checked out for a stomach bug. We decided to have her hospitalized and treated, and signed the paper stating we understood that the emergency clinic closed at 8AM Monday morning, so pickup or arrangements needed to be made earlier. We called to check on the dog Sunday afternoon and see if she could be picked up. The tech told us that they wanted to watch her for a while longer, and told us that they would contact us in the morning to let us know if she was ready to go home. We heard nothing further. We got a call after 8AM on Monday from a tech who told my wife that they were closed and we would need to pick up the dog ASAP. We hadn't been told that our dog was ready to go home and to prep for discharge, so I was at work, and my wife was prepping kids and on her way to an appointment. My wife tried to explain that we had been waiting to hear the update from their clinic as we were instructed, but the tech wouldn't listen. I also called to attempt to explain the situation, and the tech said "We can go back and forth all day if you want to, but you signed the paper that said you understood we closed at 8AM. If you don't pick up the dog, you'll need to pay for an exam and boarding from the other office that's here." The tech was rude, uninterested in listening to us, and the staff didn't follow up as promised. I understand what we signed. We made the mistake of trusting the information that the staff gave us when we called to be up to date and accurate. When I got there, the tech had highlighted my signature and initial sections, and re-emphasized when we should pick the pets up next time. There won’t be a next time. ***EDIT / UPDATE: We took our rabbit in because he was lethargic, not eating, and declining quickly. In all honesty, this was the only option we had, and after our prior experience, we were not excited to be back. However, after a brief consultation, our rabbit is in much better shape, and we have a workable treatment plan. The doctor advised us that rabbits are rather sensitive, but we are optimistic and grateful that we could be seen in a pinch. The staff was communicative, helpful, and caring. The visit was quick, informative, and a much better experience overall than the previous time! I wanted to update the review to reflect our cumulative experience from both times - I’m glad they were able to help, and would recommend them overall as an emergency treatment option. Read Less

After spending close to $3,000 my daughter's cat died, they never figured out what was wrong, and recommended driving to Pullman WSU for a "blood transfusion" even tho she died within an hour of leaving their Clinic. Very rude about payment..They want their $ up front and act as if the customers are some sort of losers or criminals who won't pay. I am neither of those, thank you. Also they charge 3x the usual cost! 3x!! Pay up or euthanize. That's a quote from their own website by the way! I think they are the criminals, taking advantage of people and pets when most vulnerable. I went to Prairie Hosp. Much nicer! Open on Sunday for emergencies. 1/3 the cost. (700 compared to 2,500 for ingested boulder removal) Happily paid in full. My dog didn't like them either, and she knows her sht, even if she doesn't know enough not to eat rocks.. I was told to take my puppy there from my regular veterinarian, who doesn't perform ultrasounds. I took her immediately as my dogs symptoms weren't improving. While they were performing her ultrasound , I looked at the reviews on here and was instantly worried about my dog. When the dr came out to explain my dog needed exploratory surgery. I was instantly upset for my dog. I asked if my regular vet could perform this surgery and he stated that my regular vet was informed of the issue and was told that they couldn't do it that evening. So I had very little options. Everyone was very nice and matter of fact about everything. My puppy made it out of the surgery and was sent home the next day. Their price was within range of what they told me it would be. It is on the higher side but no different then when you go to an emergency room yourself. I also called my regular vet, who is reviewed extremely well, and I adore. Told them my concerns and they said that they would never have sent our dog there if they didn't trust them with their own. Which she stated three of her employees dogs have been to this dr for an emergency situation. So all in all, I can say that I would remcommend them. Thank you for saving my dogs life! Read Less

On a Saturday our 10 week old puppy swallowed the hook part of a hanger and it got stuck in his throat. We rushed our boy in to this place (what a mistake) and they didn't even examine him only stated he needs X-rays. They showed us the X-rays, which were of his stomach not his throat and said he didn't have anything in his throat and he probably swallowed a small piece of sharp plastic and that is why he gagged because his theist was soar and what we felt was a tenden and he did have some gas and to give him gas x. I said but he is gagging and there is a hanger head in his throat. They denied it and said if I really felt that way they could open his tummy up (again the tummy when you could feel the hanger in his throat!) and look around. The assistant with the nose ring was rude as hell, one step of from the spawn of hell. The doctor was like talking to a box of rocks. She didn't believe a word we said. So we went home and fed him water and food through a syringe to bypass the hanger until our vet opened up on Monday. My husband rushed him in first thing Monday morning and three vets in the office felt his throat(finally a vet that listened and felt the right area) and all three stated it was very obvious the hanger was there! No X-rays needed. They put a scope in him and got it out. If you love your fur baby please drive to Spokane or any other vet and seek help before bringing them here. Please... Read Less

WARNING: DO NOT GO TO EMERGENCY PET CARE IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR ANIMALS; YOUR FOUR FOOTED FAMILY. Our toy poodle was viciously attacked by a neighbor's pit bull tonight while we were on a walk. We brought her immediately to Emergency Pet Care (care? Questionable at best) as she had become limp, having difficulty breathing, and apparent pain and trauma. "Your dog's fine" as the veterinarian went on to tell us about how she has a smaller toy poodle. Really? We took her to Spokane and discovered that she wasn't "fine". The staff and the veterinarian should find another profession not working with animals nor other humans with the facility shut down permanently. Just be warned! Read Less

I would give a 0 star rating if possible. Two weeks ago our German Sheppard puppy became visibly in pain near her mouth on late Sunday afternoon and was whimpering. She woke us up at around 3am Monday morning just crying in pain, so we took her to Emergency Pet care. We paid the $95 exam fee and the Vet looked at her briefly, then stated that there was obviously an issue in her mouth and she would look at it for another $300. To be honest, I would have paid it if I thought for a second that she was competent - I wanted our baby to stop hurting. We went home and soothed her until our regular Vet opened up, and took her there. They took care of her right away, found a loose baby tooth that had abscessed and caused her mouth to swell, removed it gave me medicine - all for $55. Emergency Pet care is horrible and I would never use them again! Read Less

Incredibly rude and uncaring staff. I took my puppy here because she was really bad off. They had no idea what was wrong with her and wanted to charge me $650. When we decided it was best to put her down they wanted to charge $120 to be in the room with her but if we weren't in the room it was free. They care more about the money then they do the animals. While I understand they have to make money they are suppose to care for the animals well being. Not willing to work with people and being rude and uncaring about the animal is not the way to run a business. I will never bring my pets there again. I don't understand how they are still on business. Read Less

Brought my Great Pyrenees in he was having seizures. He got into compost and had a mycotoxin poisoning. They did bad blood work and said his phosphorus levels were high and he had gotten into poison.(fertilizer or rat poison). Even though I know it was only compost. WSU redid his blood work and phosphorus levels were normal. They gave him 26 doses of Valium in a 10 hour period and basically put him in a coma. Then told us he was a goner and we were being cruel for keeping him alive at this point. Then charged me around 800 bucks. So we left and brought him to WSU. I'm giving them one star because they at least gave him fluids and kept him alive although in a coma. Could have saved money if they would have told me they were incompetent and couldn't treat him. WSU saved his life. he is now walking and acting like a pup again thanks to WSU. And they were actually concerned about saving his life. This lady is rude and cruel what a joke. If you can make it take your pet to WSU where they're actually concerned with saving your pet not giving up after a few hours and making money. Read Less

Go to Prairie Animal Hospital!! Read Less

Read Less
