We went to Star Veterinary Clinic to have emergency stitches for our dog. The incident happened on Friday at about 4 o'clock, so we called ahead of time knowing she'd need stitches to see if they would take her (since they close at 5). We got her there at 4:40 and she had 20 stitches put in within an hour. That bill was $400, I'm not sure how reasonable that is, but I assume it was higher because it was after hours/etc. The vet had told us to come back in a week to have the stitches removed. This is where my frustration lies. Yesterday we made an appointment to have the stitches removed at 11:30 today. During my lunch break at work today, I drove home, picked my dog up, and drove 25 minutes one way to the vet. Once I arrived I was greeted by the staff and told "we looked at your paperwork and realized she isn't due to have the stitches removed until NEXT Friday". I received NO phone calls to cancel today's appointment and there was no apology from the staff for the inconvenience or lack of effort in trying to reach me before wasting my time. Although the staff at Star Veterinary Clinic are friendly, that doesn't make up for the lack of respect for well paying customer's time. I hope they reflect on their performance and try to improve their customer's experience. Perhaps a standard form for what care will be needed after stitches/etc. stating how long until stitches need removed would be helpful to give to patients after their treatment to avoid confusion. At least, that's standard practice other vet offices I've used. I will not go to this clinic in the future.

We moved to Star about 18 months ago with 2 cats, one was 6 and the other 12 years old. After being here for a short time, our older cat, Kitty" started losing weight and walking awkwardly. Being new to the area and wanting to support local businesses, we went to Star Veterinary Clinic which is just down the road.
After a brief exam on our old guy and a little blood work, Dr. Z discovered that "Kitty" was diabetic and prescribed a health plan with insulin shots twice a day. After a brief lesson on how to give shots, we jumped right in and today, "Kitty" is back to being himself. He's gained weight, walking normal and enjoying a fine quality of life.
As for Dr. Z, he's on our Christmas list forever, he's a fine Vet and a compassionate person, we wouldn't go any where else for the care of our 2 cats.

We thought she broke her tail, he gave her a thorough examination, her annual examination and the pain medication that went with all the other indignities she had to suffer for $65. They are very gentle with her too, and she DOES NOT LIKE VETS.

We went to Star Veterinary Clinic to have emergency stitches for our dog. The incident happened on Friday at about 4 o'clock, so we called ahead of time knowing she'd need stitches to see if they would take her (since they close at 5). We got her there at 4:40 and she had 20 stitches put in within an hour. That bill was $400, I'm not sure how reasonable that is, but I assume it was higher because it was after hours/etc. The vet had told us to come back in a week to have the stitches removed. This is where my frustration lies. Yesterday we made an appointment to have the stitches removed at 11:30 today. During my lunch break at work today, I drove home, picked my dog up, and drove 25 minutes one way to the vet. Once I arrived I was greeted by the staff and told "we looked at your paperwork and realized she isn't due to have the stitches removed until NEXT Friday". I received NO phone calls to cancel today's appointment and there was no apology from the staff for the inconvenience or lack of effort in trying to reach me before wasting my time. Although the staff at Star Veterinary Clinic are friendly, that doesn't make up for the lack of respect for well paying customer's time. I hope they reflect on their performance and try to improve their customer's experience. Perhaps a standard form for what care will be needed after stitches/etc. stating how long until stitches need removed would be helpful to give to patients after their treatment to avoid confusion. At least, that's standard practice other vet offices I've used. I will not go to this clinic in the future.

Love all the people at Star Vet! They are personable and caring both to us and our pets. We have 3 dogs and Zach has been their vet for 5-1/2 years. Very happy with him and his team.

Star Vet takes great care of my dogs. Very nice staff, and a great Vet! I'm always able to get them in, in a timely manner. Prices are very reasonable.

We moved to Star about 18 months ago with 2 cats, one was 6 and the other 12 years old. After being here for a short time, our older cat, Kitty" started losing weight and walking awkwardly. Being new to the area and wanting to support local businesses, we went to Star Veterinary Clinic which is just down the road.
After a brief exam on our old guy and a little blood work, Dr. Z discovered that "Kitty" was diabetic and prescribed a health plan with insulin shots twice a day. After a brief lesson on how to give shots, we jumped right in and today, "Kitty" is back to being himself. He's gained weight, walking normal and enjoying a fine quality of life.
As for Dr. Z, he's on our Christmas list forever, he's a fine Vet and a compassionate person, we wouldn't go any where else for the care of our 2 cats.

Living in star, I am glad they are around. My cat seems to sees the doc quite a bit these days. We thought she broke her tail, he gave her a thorough examination, her annual examination and the pain medication that went with all the other indignities she had to suffer for $65. They are very gentle with her too, and she DOES NOT LIKE VETS.

This is an over priced Vet. They wanted $ 550.00.I went to Sunnyside Animal Clinic on Star Rd one mile later had it done for $ 139.00.
