If I could give negative stars, I would. I was referred in May to Barrington Hospital by my vet to have my 3 yr old cat's resorptive tooth looked at and have it extracted because they do not do dental surgery. It was explained to me by Dr. Washington at Barrington that this was an Extremely Painful situation and if it got worse there was a chance for the infection to go to the organs and my cat could die. My cat has not been eating because of the pain, so they said that they would give him some pain meds. I got the blood work done and set up an appointment and was told they would send me an estimate for surgery. As I was checking out, they forgot to give me the pain medication. I had to ask for it. When I got home I saw they only gave me enough for 3 days when the surgery was scheduled 2 weeks away! When I got the estimate, it was for $1300-1800+!!!! for one tooth! I had my pug dog done at a different vet in the city last year - she had 8 extractions and I also hired a Anesthesia specialist because she's a pug dog and has difficulty with anesthesia and that was $1500. When I called to talk to Dr. Washington, I let them know they only gave me enough pain meds for 3 days - they said they would contact my vet to refill the prescription. When I told her that I could not afford to come up with $1800 in two weeks and could I do a payment plan, she told me that she would talk to the office manager, this was on a Friday. I didn't hear from anyone, so I called my vet on Monday to ask if they had gotten the refill information - NO ONE from Barrington had contacted them! so they just got me a prescription so that my cat could have relief from the pain and eat (he's down to 9 lbs!). I had to email Barrington AGAIN to tell them that they had not called the scrip into my vet, by the time they got back to me, my vet had already taken care of the refill.I called Barrington back and NO ONE had talked to the office manager about a payment plan. I then emailed Barrington to ask about the payment plan and received an email back telling me that all they offered was "Care Credit", sorry for the inconvenience! I had already told them I didn't qualify for because of a recent bankruptcy that I filed because of medical, vet and car repair bills in the past couple of years. So basically the death of my cat is being referred to as an inconvenience! pretty heartless, if you ask me.I emailed them back to let them know that I have informed my vet of their heartlessness and lying, asking my vet to not give them any more referrals and informed them that I would be leaving a negative review.I got an email from the Office Manager, saying how Dr. Stapleton, (who apparently owns this practice? I Don't know, she cared so much about me and my cat that she never bothered to contact me once!) if I "new" her (yes that's how she spelled it) is such a caring, generous and compassionate doctor.I asked why Dr. Stapleton didn't contact me herself and if they're so compassionate, why are they willing to let my cat die because of their greed? I never heard back from anyone. So, unless you're filthy rich, don't bother going here, because your pet's health does not matter here if you can't pay their inflated prices all up front and if your pet is going to die because of it...oh well, sorry for the inconvenience!!!I found another vet to do this procedure at almost half the price - they even contact me by email and phone to keep checking up on my cat to see how he's doing - and they aren't even my regular vet!
