NO RECOMMENDATION HERE: I cannot believe this animal hospital is still in business. In the years I grew up in Waukegan, I have never heard anything good about them. I have never taken my own dogs there and tried to convince my elderly mother not to patronize them as well. Today, a good friend posted the following: Dear Beach Park Animal Hospital... It might be a good idea to stagger your employees lunch periods to be better able to deal with situations that arise. You are, after all, an animal HOSPITAL. Telling me that now is not a good time to bring my deceased dog's body to you because "all your girls are on lunch..." is absolutely awful, insensitive and inexcusable. My 8 year old cat had his teeth cleaned and a few extracted and be is doing amazing! He is back to acting like he did when he was a kitten. I never knew he was in pain, I just thought old age was slowing him down. I wish I would've done this sooner. The entries office staff is amazing! Read Less

I want to give it no stars! They said they specialized in guinea pigs and when the doctor came in she told us she doesnt know alot about them. I didnt like how they held down one of my guinea pigs. Charged us a ton of money to clip their toe nails like 30 bucks a pig on top of that didnt even give us enough meds for my girls or give them the proper physical. The doctor didnt even look at my other baby. Said since they are both sneezing give them both the antibiotics well it wasnt enough for both of them. The ringwarm meds helped Bella clear up her ringworm that they did do right. I went to a new vet they saw both girls head to toe physicals free nail clippings they held my girls like they were their own.Im glad i found a new vet because both girls still had the uri Ive got them both on meds and they are doing much better. Im upset i wasted money there and i was lied to how are you going to tell me you specialize in guinea pigs and tell me you dont know alot about them. I wanted to cry because they werent treated right and the care wasnt there. Im very happy with my new vet. I do not recommend this hospital. If you have guinea pigs or hamsters call around and take them to a place that cares and does specialize in them. My girls could have died because the uri wasnt treated more serious. Read Less

Unfortunately we had to put our cat down, but they gave us time and space for us to mourn. There was no pressure. I was disappointed that they did blood work on her and said that she was fine just days prior. We took her home and she was a mess for days. We had to call back for them to give her an x-ray and learned she had cancer and could barely breathe. That was heartbreaking. We've been going there for years and have a lot more good stories that outweigh that important oversight.Read Less

I took my pug into this facility for a euthanize evaluation which I was never informed would happen, we chose to take her there with the thought that her life and suffering was our choice. The visit was to euthanize our 12yr old pug and love of our lives. Only to be denied a privilege of mercy killing for a suffering animal. The verinarians who made the assement chose to focus on the fact that the dog was missing a vaccination without understanding what was happening with my baby. She looked only at her mouth and gave only one resolution and that was a food change and up to date vaccinations. The animal could no longer eat missing all front teeth from old age, pain walking, rapid weight loss, eating the other animals feces, diarrhea, loss of hearing, and blindness. Due to her lack of inhuman love for animals, due to the greed of wanting the pet to visit and bring shots up to date for money which other facilities had given her for a cheaper price...My baby passed away this morning 3 days after an assessment...a horrible painful death Death, In which both me and children had to bare witness too and I tired my hardest to avoid. I DON'T RECOMMEND THESE MONEY HUNGRY NONE LOVING ANIMAL PEOPLE TO ANYONE.. These are not vetenarians these are selfish people seeking money from people's love of animals.Read Less

From the moment I walk in, I am treated like family. Especially by Monet and Alesia. The care they give my 9 year old dog, Tank is above and beyond what I've gotten anywhere else. The groomers, Chrissy and Morgan are very patient with my arthritic dog and treat him with kindness. Both Dr. A and Dr. H are very informative and helpful. I just wanted to let people know that this place is wonderful Dr Cindy she is and angel that save my dog's eye she haves the experience and knowledge the other places are lacking off to helped my poor dog I have been to a different veterinarian office and they told me that my dog would have to get surgery to remove her eye thank God and this animal hospital they were able to save my dogs eye I am so appreciative for their knowledge and attentiveness to detail. I have been taking my animals here for over 20 years. The staff is compassionate, gentle, and animal loving. All know how to keep their calm and handle safely and quickly a scared animal- before the critter even knows it, they have had an exam or grooming. Dr. Abraham has wonderful observational and assessment skills. She senses subtle changes and knows when intervention in needed and when "lets watch it" is ok, avoiding unnecessary treatment. Very, very expensive. Staff friendly, but testing can seem excessive at times, as opposed to thorough. One visit can easily pass the $500 mark. However, the staff is very kind and the doctors are very dedicated to saving your pet. When it was time to put one of my pets to sleep, I got a second opinion (I felt so guilty). The second vet (different clinic) confirmed the diagnosis and praised the staff at Beach Park. I feel comfortable bringing my babies to this clinic, just wish it was affordable. However, the staff is amazing. Pricing aside, I trust them with the lives of my babies. Read Less

Our Bella became just a number after her surgery! And the one time they did see her after surgery they charged an additional $200 to re-stitch. Today, one week after surgery when she needs re-stitching again, or just to see someone, they tell us to take her to Grayslake hospital, what?! Terrible. Post op patients should have priority!! Im writing this review because of my mother.She's been going here for a few years now and bringing our beloved Cocker Spaniel FeeGee here.No real complaints about the staff or the doctors.I will say that the prices are a little ridiculous and they have it set up to where if you love your pet and are concerned about their health you'll be out of a few hundred dollars every 3 months or so.Thats generally the game plan of most vets so if you have no problems paying a $600 bill for blood work and Thyroid pills then you'll love this place!Btw.. my mom said that the blood work was like $300 something before, so i dont know what happen to the prices in a 4 , 5 year period of time..We'll definitely be checking around for other places but untill then it's a decent enough place to bring your pet to if you live in the surrounding area. This place is great. I just took my dog there for his annual shots... I had read another review that said they were overpriced but that was not the case at all. If anything they were less than I expected. The whole staff was friendly and inviting. They answered all of my questions about my dog and I didn't get the feeling they were trying to sell me something the whole time the way my previous vet made me feel. They just seem to really love animals and taking care of them. I would recommend this place to anyone. Read Less

I took my very difficult dog there for his shots and his dreaded nail trim and they were able to get everything done in just 20 minutes and he left the office happy as a clam! It had taken other doctors 4 helpers a muzzle and I left with a cowering dog who hid for days. The doctor gave me some great information on behavior training and we will be back! Read Less

My husband and I went there and were very surprised for a regular annual check-up for our dogs we ended up paying $600!!! When I called to make the appointment originally I was told over the phone the estimate would be around $100 and something per dog. It seems the vetrenarians aren't communicating well with their front desk employees about the costs and what's required or maybe new testing that has occured and providing the customers with the incorrect estimate.
