Overall, the most absolutely amazing doctors and staff I've ever came across. I made an appointment purely by chance since my normal vet's office was closed, and I wanted to get my ol' girl in for a paw problem as soon as possible. But my fur baby ended up having an ear infection and a heart problem as well. The ear infection was treated on the spot. The doctor took her time with my old baby and actually gave me an unneeded apology because she was taking a bit with us (because she was being so thorough). The doctor explained the problem to me, let me listen to my fur baby's heart, showed me side by side pictures of the x-ray with a normal heart, and went home that evening and researched the issue further to make sure the rare condition was treated the best way possible. Not only that, but when a prescription was put in the staff called around and found a place that could fill it for me. Simply above and beyond people that love animals. I love this place! We always leave feeling our 3 animals received the best care! Or big 85 lb dog is terrified of the scale and refuses to stand on it. Dr. Staehle didn’t think twice about scooping her up and holding her to weigh. He wanted to make sure to give her the right dose of medicine. Also... we just received a card in the mail a little while after our 14yo lab passed(my husband was deployed and they made her passing as easy and comfortable as possible for me to do on my own). We have seen Dr Craig, Dr Kim and Dr Deni. All three are amazing. We left our old vet when I felt like we just became a cash cow for them to fund their new building. These vets love love love animals and are in it for the right reason. The receptions are great and so are the techs. All around professional and always on time. No sitting in a small waiting room waiting for them. They have always been on time. In six years I've never once had to wait past my appointment time. Four years ago we had to say goodbye to our lab. For an awful reason to be there they made it wonderful. They have a separate room with a couch and dimable lights for you to say goodbye. We switched to Best Friends a few months ago for our pets. We have had the best experiences with them. The staff is amazing and the vets are so caring and kind. Yesterday, we had to make the decision to put our cat down..needless to say, it was an awful day. Our cat was family for nearly 16 years. The front desk staff, the vet techs, and the veterinarian were all so caring and sympathetic. I highly recommend Best Friends. We've been bringing our 3 dogs there for years and have always been happy. Yesterday they shined when they were able to work my dog in to the schedule to remove a tumor that had started bleeding. Dr Craig did an amazing job with the delicate surgery (due to tumor location) and today my dog is almost back to 100%. I'm so grateful they were able to help her. I came in without an appointment and in tears fearing the tumor was inoperable. The staff helped us without complaint and 24 hours later we have a happy healthy pooch! I brought my cat in for a check up as he wasn't acting like himself as of recent. The Nurse, Maura, was very accommodating of my very scared and stressed kitty. She worked around my arms as I held him to keep him comfortable, she was very friendly and kind to my kitty as well. Dr. Hemmett was very helpful and friendly and treated my cat very well while checking him further. They treated him quickly and gave me some very helpful tips. This was our first visit with our two girls as our previous vet retired. We were very impressed with all of the staff. One of our girls can be timid around strangers but everyone did a great job making her feel welcome and at ease. Dr. Craig was absolutely amazing. He cared for and diagnosed my African Pygmy Hedgehog. He was very patient and kind. I won't take my babies any where else, well unless Dr Deni goes somewhere else, I have been with her for almost 14 yrs, I followed her from another place that was 2 miles from my house, now she is 30 minutes from my house, but no one else will ever touch my babies. The girls there are so wonderful & helpful when I have all my dogs at once, 200 lbs worth of dogs & they are there to help unwind me. I have been taking my hedgehog in to get some issues taken care of and while it's been a long process they have cared every step of the way. Very knowledgeable and kind hearted people. Great vet and staff. They are knowledgeable and caring. Dr.Craig always does his best to diagnose a problem, using the least invasive and less expensive testing, when possible. I have always had giant breed doggies and anyone who has been a pet parent to these big babies knows that it takes very little treatment/tests to rack up a tremendous bill. He's also very honest and realistic with the services that his facility is able to offer. If diagnosis requires a specialist, for example a neurosurgeon, he will suggest it. He won't bleed you dry for treatment and tests if he believes that inevitably your pet will require more extensive diagnostic testing at a specialist facility. .My vet prior to Dr. Craig, charged me for the same medication repeatedly for the treatment of a reoccuring condition that required a surgical procedure, instead of referring me to a specialist that was qualified and equipped to do what was necessary to cure the problem. They have a Clean facility, no long wait for app. times, very reasonable rates, compassionate and competent docs and staff. They are the best! Read Less

Today was a very hard day emotionally. We had to say goodbye to one of our own pets. I want to give a HUGE shout out to Best Friends Animal Hospital in Swansea!!! When we were taken back, we weren't stuffed into a cold exam room, we were taken to a very warm and welcoming room that was carpeted, had a lovely couch and was nicely lit. They went above and beyond for us. Dr. Deni Stallons was top notch, so caring and compassionate! A big thank you to all of the staff who helped today. Jennifer at the front desk was amazing, as well as all of the nurses who were there (I'm sorry I can't remember all of your names)! Having been a technician myself and working in a clinic, I appreciated the amount of respect they gave to me. They allowed me to personally handle Sadie during the entire procedure and welcomed me into their treatment area so I could make paw prints afterwards for my Mom. Ive been here several times for my pet rats. The vet is absolutely incredible very gentle with animals he sincerely cares about their well being along with everyone else there! I have so much respect for the people here they do their jobs well while also caring for their individual patients. I wouldn't take any of my animals to another vet they time and time again blow my mind with their level of knowledge and concern for the animals well being. It is hard to find a good reptile vet. This hospital has the best herp vet we have ever been to, and we do know our herp vets! We have had Tibby our turtle for over 10 years, he is a part of our family!  I highly recommend Dr. Craig. It is evident he is extremely passionate about exotic animals care, and he is especially knowledgable about reptiles and amphibs. He spent a great deal of time talking to us and explaining things, and he even followed up our visit with a personal email after he had done some research. How awesome is that?! Best Friends AHPR has certainly been good to me for the two years my pets have been patients. Dr. Craig Staehle treated my baby ball python through months of debilitating illness that eventually took his life. We did literally everything we could, short of surgery that may well have killed him in the process. I was there every other week, and the team showed me the same kindness for my snake as they do for my cats. The entire staff signed a sympathy card when he died, and were nothing but supportive.My parents take our other pets to Four Paws, but I've found Best Friends to be cleaner and more "put together" than Four Paws. They run a tighter ship, and the wait time is never as backed up as I've seen other vets get. It's easy to get an appointment, and they do offer some evening and weekend availability. I absolutely trust them with my pets' health and safety, and if I ever needed to board my cats, they'd stay there. If you're new to the area and need a veterinarian, or if you've been wanting to switch, I can't recommend them highly enough. They've been wonderful. Read Less
