I have lived here in the MidWest for 4 years. Since moving here this has been the vet for my dogs. He is undeniably connected to every animal he serves. He supports active Military & veterans as well. Which is highly appreciated on our behalf. He has always taken care of our animals the way in which we would ourselves. I feel truly blessed finding a vet of his caliber & admire the manner in which he's cared for every one of my animals. His office was even willing to do the footwork to find an aviary santuary to rescue a nest of baby birds we found while mowing our rural property. My cat has anal gland issues so when one explodes it's off to the vet. They got him in quickly as a new patient and cleaned him up and gave him antibiotics and he was all better. This is my third year taking my puppy to this vet. So far so good . The first year we had the lady vet. Very nice. Cares and compassionate about the pets that she sees. The last two years we were seen by the male vet. From what I hear he's pretty good and it seems like it. I took my puppy to get his shots today and he was rough and handle my dog like he was wrestling with him. I felt like he was holding him down to tight. Then he went to clean trim and clean around his eyes he grab my puppy by the neck and it was like he almost was choking him to death. My puppy tongue was turning purple, eyes were red and its like he was grasping for air. So I said something to him, like hey is he ok you chocking him. He didn't responded . Im like wait a minute. Stop. Then he let up some. It scared me a little. I was sad my baby had to go though that. My pup has a appt to get neutered on the 30th and now its like do i really want to take him back. This last time was a bad experience on the both of us. I feel like he needs to take it easy and be more compassionate instead of being so rough, taking his time instead of sticking the needle so fast and hard. It left a bump under my puppy skin. Maybe he do need to retire. Then on top of that he stuck his own finger by a mistake because its like he was reaching for it but couldn't see it. He kept grabbing for it but kept missing it. Brought 4 of my pups on for yearly shots. Vet gave each a cursory exam and administered their shots. Even trimmed nails on a couple of my dogs who are difficult to trim. This is a no frills vet. They do a lot of business and are very reasonable on pricing. The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because they misdiagnosed one dog earlier in the year who had mites, and they said dry skin. Not life and death, but still misdiagnosed. To be fair though, 2 other higher priced vets also misdiagnosed before taking to a specialist. I would recommend Hoof and Paw for routine check-ups and shots. Read Less

Awful experience. My kitten went in simply to be fixed and declawed and half of his pads came back missing! He was not able to heal from that for months with the proper treatment. He came back covered in his own blood and pee no one even cared to clean him up so all he was worried about when he got home was cleaning up and not healing and resting. I've had another kitten take this same procedure elsewhere and she was fine after a couple days. No blood and no mess. Before they closed on the day of his procedure I called up there to make sure he was doing okay because they were keeping him over night and she acted annoyed that I even called. In my previous visits to this place, he was just getting vaccinated and I thought it was odd that he came back with bumps under his skin where the needles poked him. My mom took one of our dogs here right after he was attacked by another dog a few years back. She walked in right at close as Tim (one of the vets) was walking out the door. He took one look, waved her in and stayed to treat him overnight. We have never gone anywhere else since, these vets truly care about the animals and do not overcharge. Couldn't say better things. We have been taking our pets there for over 25 years. The Dr.'s have always been great. Dr. Tim also taught a college class when my husband attended, and he remarked on his professional yet down to earth manner. We went to another vet once who gouged us for minimal service, although he had flashy office and car. Hoof and Paw's office is bare bones but are great when it comes to care and service. It can be difficult for new patients so if they have any openings jump on it! Read Less

When I moved to the area took my dog their for his yearly shots. They didn't really seem to care about my dog. Just in and out. Shots were affordable. Not even sure if we even actually seen a vet. The lady had me muzzle my dog which was a first. Don't think he really liked the whole experience. And neither did I. Read Less

I like bringing my pets there and I like Dr Tim but whoever is new there is rude and plainly just don't care she should be working somewhere else. Our pets are like our kids. I woke up this morning and my dog had blood in her stool and is really mopey. So I called and was told they are to swamped. Feed her chicken. I asked again why there was blood and she couldn't answer that but just said boiled chicken. I'm mad and.upset by the way I was treated. Unprofessional to say the least. Read Less

They are cheap. That's the best thing about them. But you get what you pay for. Whenever we bring in our pups with issues, they write us off with a topical spray. The vet is rude. We wait for over 30 mins with an appt to see him and the dr is only in the room for 5 minutes. This has happened the last 3 times I've been there. Never again. Read Less

Hands down the best vet in the area.  Tim cares about the animals, it shows.  I will never bring my dogs to any other vet.  Tim has always gone above and beyond.  I like that he always tries to take a natural approach to healing.  Hoof and Paw cares about your animals, not your pocket book. you know how hard it is to put your pet to sleep,,,, I've had to do that yesterday. I was disappointed of the care of the procedure. it was not Dr. Tim but his wife that gave my dog the first injections and then she left the room,,, she told me that it will take 5 mins.I was rubbing my baby then I put her on the table still talking and rubbing her, then she started jerking uncontrolable for around 3 or 4 mins, I try to get one of the Dr. to come in but I did not see anyone, one of the person that work in the front came in, and I told her what happen and she told me that she some times the pet act like she run like when they dreaming, but I told her that her whole body were jerking really bad. Dr Lesch is direct, honest, and compassionate. He has helped me free of charge when I found an abandoned dog full of mange and starving. He is direct and will give bad new without sugar coating it or milking you for money. His job is not easy. Also, his staff, especially Linda Herzog. are always patient and polite. In my opinion, Hoof N Paw deserves a nobel peace prize not negative comments. These people truly care about critters and their dumb owners. Read Less

This is the best Vet in town!  My entire family brings our animals to them and they are EXCELLENT.  Dr. Tim is great with our dogs and always knows what to do.  I will never go anywhere else!!!  They are also the most reasonably priced vet in town.  Some of the places with fancy buildings charge an arm and a leg for everything.  Hoof and Paw understands that times are tough and they keep their prices low.  I HIGHLY recommend them!
