I took my puppy there today for his shots. The staff there was very friendly. The atmosphere was clean. And I was very impressed by the doctor. My dog has been going to this vet since she was a puppy and we have never had any problems with them until now. We brought my seventy pound crying dog in after an injury where she can not use her back paw. Even though they were open, they refused to see her due to the fact that we had no appointment. Glad to know that this vet does not care about the wellbeing of hurt animals in their care and keeps their appointment book as a gospel. Heartless, really. Read Less

I love this place. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I sent an email with several questions regarding my dogs health. Always appreciate the friendliness of front office staff and the compassion for animals that's evident in all of the staff.   Been taking all of my dogs there for years.  Made the mistake of taking one if my Basset hounds to a county promotion for  vaccinations.  He was severely ill and dehydrated with an allergic reaction.  Dr. Nava nursed him back with fluids allowing him to go home to recuperate and return for fluids daily.  He is a nervous dog, so this was the best and economical decision.  Now, because there was simply no way to determine which vaccine gave him the reaction, he receives Benadryl before certain vaccines as a precaution. I have two dogs, one with chronic severe allergies (rashes, eyes oozing, hair loss, ect) and ear infections. I had tried two different vets, and countless medications before coming to Bevlab, all with little or no effect. Once I came to Bevlab (Specifically Dr. Nava)- it took one visit and they were able to recommend a regimen that actually works for my dog. Not only were they able to help him out in a short period of time, but they were also very budget conscious while recommending medications which is extremely appreciated. I love BevLab and wouldn't go anywhere else.  I previously was a Petsmart client but when my 6 year old PWG stopped eating and Petsmart could not find anything wrong with him, I callled BevLab and they took me as a new client immediately.  They tried to 3 days to find out what was wrong with him and they were the sweetest people to my Scout.  Unfortunately we found out Scout had cancer and had to put him to sleep.  My family purchased another puppy in May and brought him to BevLab because I know they are very caring for our family members.  Also love their grooming.  They do a great job and the groomer was concerned that my new puppy was afaird of the clippers so she has been working with him so that he feels more comfortable while being groomed and they are truely priced right! I have been taking my 2 dogs to Bevlab for the past 5 years. I have never had anything but an excellent experience there. I switched from my old vet when I bought a puppy. My old vet couldn't possibly fit me in to do a wellness check, and I only had 3 days to do it, or I wouldn't be able to return the puppy if there was a medical issue. Not only did Bevlab get me in that day, they also had a puppy package that was more extensive than my old vet's and cheaper. I switched my other dog's medical records to Bevlab on the spot (which Bevlab took care of for me). My older dog had a serious leg injury a few years ago and Bevlab got him in within the hour, and then recommended the best veterinary orthopedic surgeon in Chicago. They had a deal with her, and I got a 10% discount on the surgery. They are a one stop shop. They do boarding, grooming, and medical services. I have used all three services and had excellent experiences with all of them. Not once has Bevlab let me or my dogs down. I wouldn't go to any other vet in the area. I can confidently recommend Bevlab's services because they are the best I've ever experienced and I've been a pet owner for over 34 years, so I've been to a lot of vets. Being new to Blue Island, I wasn't sure where I wanted to take my dogs but I thought I would try out Bevlab since it is in the neighborhood. I have seen both Dr. Nava and Dr. Plow however Dr. Nava has provided most of our care to our dogs. I don't have any complaints on either vet and enjoyed speaking with them both. They came in and answered ALL my questions and I never felt rushed. I did mention a concern to Dr. Nava regarding my newly adopted dog and the way she walks. She said to keep an eye on it (will return to this in just a moment).Went in on Saturday morning for an 'emergency'. My dog ate almost a whole bag of egg noodles on Friday and by Saturday morning she couldn't walk, stand up or potty plus she was totally swollen. Bevlab referred me to an emergency clinic which I thought was odd since I didn't see why they couldn't look at her. Nevertheless I took her to the recommended emergency vet clinic. This particular vet noticed almost right away something wrong with my dogs back legs and indicated it might be neurological but said that I could always pursue that at a later time. I found it odd she noticed the problem right away but Dr. Nava didn't. Given the fact that our dogs are pretty healthy (only one has some medical issues), I feel confident bringing them to Bevlab but I definitely question their expertise on serious issues based on the back legs and walking of my one dog.  Definitely check them out though and see if you like them. My family has been taking our pets to BevLab for over 25 years because we trust the quality of their services and have always felt comfortable there.I have had appointments with all of the vets currently in residence at BevLab. They're all great; however, the vet we've seen most frequently is Dr. Nava, and I can't say enough good things about our experiences with her.  I know my cat never likes getting into the car and going to the vet, yet he never puts up a fight when Dr. Nava checks his vitals or carries him away for blood work.  I feel really comfortable there, never feel rushed, and always feel comfortable asking any and all questions I have. Dr. Nava's always quick to call back with lab results and explains everything in language that's accessible to a non-medically trained person like myself.I can't say enough good things about BevLab. I brought my dog to Dr. Plow for the first time almost three years ago and she, along with the rest of the staff have always been amazing.  They are kind, supportive, intelligent and their prices are incredibly reasonable.  While I loved them before, I now have a new appreciation for the staff because two weeks ago, my dog got sick on a Sunday and I had to rush him to the nearest animal hospital.   While there, the staff pushed me to do unnecessary and expensive tests, they put in an IV and gave him pain meds, even though the vet said he didn't exhibit any pain when we brought him in.  When we dropped off our dog (at their request) Teddy was a sick but sweet dog, when we picked him up he was doped up and scared.  By the end of the appointment, I just wanted to get my dog home so I could bring him to Dr. Plow the next day.  When I did bring him in to Dr. Plow, she, and the rest of the staff, were just lovely.  Teddy was so much more comfortable, and while the Dr. confirmed that the tests run at the other hospital COULD be applicable to the symptoms Teddy exhibited, they were an extreme way to treat the problem.   We continued his treatment at Bevlab and when we picked him up we were sent home with some antibiotics and a very happy dog who had gotten lots of belly rubs at Bevlab.  Two weeks later Teddy is happy and healthy as ever.The bottom line with Bevlab is that I know that I can trust the staff to put the best interest of my dog above all else, and it is so clear that they truly love working with animals.  I cannot recommend them highly enough. I have been going to Bevlab for about 3 years now and see Dr. Plowe. I think they have very reasonable prices (I have visited nearly 4 vets in my dog's 8 years of life in South Florida and on the north side of Chicago). Everyone is very nice and listens to you in the office.Recently, my dog was diagnosed with a very rare condition that Dr. Plowe recognized, but had not seen in many years. It creates a great deal of care on my end, but should go away in 2-4 weeks on its own. He cannot eat or drink on his own, and therefore dehydration is a large concern. Someone from the office and Dr. Plowe has called me to check on him over the past few days. I am thoroughly impressed and so thankful to have this Animal Hospital in my neighborhood! My dog means the world to me and I know he's in good hands at Bevlab! Read Less
