I've gone to at least 6 other vets with my dog over the past 8 years and have never found one that I immediately LOVED. I went here today for the first time and saw Dr. Blondin and Kim. They were amazing! Their demeanor is exactly what I was looking for: kind, patient, compassionate, knowledgeable, friendly...for both my dog and myself. My dog usually hates the vet and stresses out the whole time, Dr. Blondin worked her magic and he was the calmest I've ever seen him at a vet appointment. He's also absolutely terrible for a nail trim and they did such a great job going slow with him and bribing him with treats. I cannot recommend this place enough. If your dog is a nervous Nellie, like mine, and you are a bit of a needy dog mom, like me, this is the place to go. I live across the street from another well-known animal Hospital and I'd much rather drive out of my way to go here. The office is also super clean, all staff were great, prices were competitive for the area, and I even got a report card for the visit with thorough information on my dog. I absolutely love this place and highly recommend it!Read Less

We recently switched to this vet, and though we've only been here twice so far, I am can say without a doubt it was a great decision to switch. Our first visit was for a their yearly checkup with shots and all that jazz. One of our dogs is fine with the vet, however our rescue dog is not. It took the doctor, a tech and my boyfriend and I to hold him still so they could do his bloodwork, shots, and trim his nails. It was not a very pleasant experience for anyone involved, but Dr. Blondin and the tech were so friendly, gentle and patient the entire time, even when the tech's finger was unfortunately injured. I was mortified and felt so bad, but they assured us it was not a problem (and they didn't tell us to never come back, which after the way he behaved I felt would have been totally justified). Our second visit was recently when the well-behaved-at-the-vet pup misbehaved at home and we suspected ate something she shouldn't have. I called late on a Friday night and asked if there was any way they could squeeze us in on Saturday morning if she wasn't feeling better. They didn't even hesitate and held a spot for us, and just said if we didn't need to come in to just let them know. We ended up having to take her, and they felt that she had also eaten something that had gotten stuck. As they were closing in just a short about of time, and not there on Sundays, they transferred us to a 24/7 animal hospital to have the item surgically removed. Even though they didn't do the surgery, Dr. Blondin called us several times while she was still in their care as well as after she had come home to check up on her and discuss what her report said from the other vet.I'm glad that we made the decision to switch vets, and highly recommend Randall Oaks Animal Hospital to anyone looking for a place that will take good and compassionate care of their animals! They recently changed their policy regarding rabies shots. Rabies shots must now be completed as a separate appointment if the shots are going to expire prior to a scheduled service. Formerly the shots could be done at the time as the other services , i.e. the yearly teeth cleaning and check up. Who has time to go take their pet to the vet twice when the shots, check ups and cleanings used to all be done at the same time?. Plus, what pet gets rabies any more? It is just another way for Illinois to collect money. Hopefully the vet loses money for this ridiculous policy. Vets are a dime a dozen. Read Less

What a wonderful experience I had! After an awful experience at Hanover Park animal hospital, I was nervous to bring my puppy to another vet. However, everyone at Randall Oaks was extremely pleasant and helpful. It's rare to find vets that care more about your animal than they do about selling medications and making money, but at Randall Oaks I felt they truly cared about my dog. I can't say enough good things about the staff and the service they provide. They even called a few days after my dog went home to see how she was!I would recommend this practice 1000 times over. We owe a lot of our dog's comfort and happiness to Randall Oaks Animal Hospital. We have an Airedale Terrier, Ozzie, and brought him to Randall Oaks as a puppy since their prices were very reasonable compared to other vet clinics in the area. When Ozzie started to lick his paws uncontrollably daily and become very protective of his feet the staff at Randall Oaks were able to help us diagnose it into an auto immune disease that effects his nails and nail beds. They worked with us to come up with a cost effective treatement plan that has since put his flare ups in remission. Ozzie is back to our happy dog that can walk pain free and leaves his paws alone. The staff is so sweet there and so helpful. We are so thankful to have them in the area to take care of our dog! Read Less

Let me preface this review by introducing my furry babies, Poppy and Stanley, who have requested that they be given a Yelp-y voice to rave about Randall Oaks. And as I can never resist those puppy-dog eyes -- I will now be turning the keyboard over to them.Woof! My name is Ran-rey (translation - Stanley) and I ROOOVE (ahem, LOVE) Randall Oaks Animal Hospital! They are always willing to squeeze me in for impromptu visits -- like the time I drank Mommy's coffee and she was worried that I would get sick...or the time I got into the potpourri and got a serious tummy ache...and even the time I got those weird itchies all over my belly. I know Mommy gets a little embarrassed every time she has to take me in for my bad-doggie moments -- but the doctors never make her feel like she is doing a bad job. They understand that sometimes -- bad-doggie moments happen. But they do have a lot of literature available to help remind other pet parents about some of the dangers for us furry ones -- especially around the Holidays. Oh, and they always give me treats! Lots and lots of treats, as long as I sit for them really good on the table. And if I remember to give them kisses on the way out they'll even give me more treats for the car! But I always eat them before we get to the car. And then I'm sad when I don't have anything to eat on the ride home. Mommy says I need to learn about delayed gratification.  Grrr...My name is Poppy. I may be wittle (little), but I'm FUR-ocious! Rawr! I'm equal parts scaredy-cat and nervous nelly -- and I don't trust ANYONE. I don't really like leaving the house, since most places make me so nervous that I shake. Literally! But I don't shake that much at Randall Oaks. The doctors know that I have trust issues, and they make sure to talk to me in a soothing voice -- and even pet me a little bit before starting the exam. They wait until the shakes have calmed down before doing anything doctor-y like checking in my ears or touching me with that cold thing they wear around their neck. And they know that Mommy gets sad when I cry while getting my shots, so they always take me out of the room for that part so that Mommy doesn't cry too. The doctors try to give me treats as a peace offering after the exam, but I never take them. Sometimes I pretend like I will, but when they put it in my mouth -- I let it fall out onto the floor. Mommy says I'm a snob, but the doctors laugh and give her the treats for later. When I'm back in the car, in my safety harness and SURE that we're not going back for any more doctor stuff -- I'll eat the treats. Okay, here's Mommy now -- she has some stuff to add.Stanley and Poppy pretty much summed it up! Poppy has been a patient of Randall Oaks since the day I brought him home -- six years ago! Like he said, he doesn't really enjoy too many places -- but he does amazingly well at Randall Oaks. They know just how to sweet talk him into a semi-calm state. Though he hasn't required much outside of annual check-ups -- we did bring him to Randall Oaks for some pretty major dental work (requiring anesthesia and everything!), and they were very helpful in talking us through the procedure and associated costs. Stanley, on the other hand, has had almost as many visits to the vet in his two years as Poppy has had in his six! He is the picture of a playful puppy -- even at two years old, he is always getting into or trying to eat something that he shouldn't. He's been seeing the good doctors at Randall Oaks since he was smaller than Poppy (true story!) -- and they can't get over how big he's grown (25 pounds of scruffy, overly-friendly, can't-stop-licking-you doggie goodness).  As he mentioned, it can get pretty awkward each time I have to bring him in for his ailment du jour -- but the staff at Randall Oaks is always happy to see him, and never once have they made me feel like a terrible mom to my furry babes. Oh, and because we all know how pricey veterinarian bills can get -- gotta Love a place that accepts coupons! At our recent visit, we redeemed coupons for $20 off PLUS a $15 rebate on Heartgard Plus and Buy 6, get 2 Frontline doses -- per dog! Their way of showing appreciation for allowing them to be your pet-meds supplier. Looking to save even more money? They'll give you $5 off your next visit for every new pet that you refer!Whether your furry friend is more like my scared-of-everything Poppy or my too-friendly Stanley -- Randall Oaks Animal Hospital can cater to both. With an uber-knowledgeable group of doctors in their practice, beyond-friendly front-of-house staff, and a clean (and cheery!) location -- I could not be happier entrusting my pups' care to them!

Both my Chihuahua and my cat have been spayed at Randall Oaks Animal Hospital. They accept the "Friends of Animals" certificates which means they are accepting little reimbursement for the cost of the surgery. My pets both had outstanding care. They received pain killers for home & I got calls after the surgery & follow up calls to see how they were doing two days later. I don't feel that because of the low cost spay they scrimped in any way on making sure my pets were cared for & treated as well as possible. I am very pleased & would highly recommend them. Read Less
