I have a plan with Banfield the biggest problem I have is that they are never able to see my dogs when they are sick. They call to schedule their wellness check but I need a vet who can see my dogs when they are sick not just when they are doing well and need vaccines and teeth cleaned. I was lucky enough to get an appointment after someone cancelled because he was yelping every time we picked him and was shaking uncontrollably. We were told that he was checked and didn't find anything wrong with him except inflammation. They prescribed 5 days worth of pills ($50) and sent him on his way. 3 days later, my dog stopped eating and drinking and was still in pain. We called the vet, of course they offered us an appointment in two weeks and vet over the phone suggested xrays $160 and blood work $150. Concerned about him, we took him to the emergency hospital. The vet said that he believed it was his spine, he took him and examined his back and in 2 minutes was able to locate the source of the pain in his spine (without xrays). My doggie may have hurt himself rough housing with my other dog. He said the pain was causing my dog not to eat. He gave him 3 medications and put him on rest for 4 weeks. The next day my dog was walking and eating because his pain was managed. The visit cost me 160 with 3 bottles of medicine which was half of what I would have paid for and my dog suffered an extra unnecessarily. I called an cancelled my plan and will be finding another vet. Read Less

I went to this location because it was close to  home and I quickly regretted it. I made an appointment and was not let into a room until 30 minutes later. Once we were in the room we had to wait another 45 minutes for a vet. After that they charged me a 'restraining' fee when my dog wouldn't sit still long enough for them to extract some blood. However, they never brought me into the room to help them out which I'm sure would have been a simple solution. Also the vet technicians were less than professional. My wife and I are pretty young and I guess that meant to the vet tech that it was fine to curse around us. I was not offended by the cursing but more about the lack of professionalism. Call ahead! While some days are slow, they stop taking walk-ins by 6, and the receptionist told me if I was going to be late for a 5:30 appointment to not bother showing up. I appreciate the honesty. I'd rather know what I'm getting myself into. When I got my first cat in St. Louis I took him to a Banfield for his shots, never had a problem. When he was really sick I walked in for an appointment, and while there was a long wait in the room, it was worth the wait to get the problem taken care of in one day. The main concern is that if you're there for over an hour, it would be nice for there to be water for the pet, and in my case, a litter box for kitty. He ended up being sick all over his carrying case b/c there was no where else for him to "go."My most recent experience with a new kitten went very well, the vet tech was very efficient, the Vet herself was very friendly and helpful. The tech came back to show me how to clean the kitten's ears and ended up doing the entire thing herself for free because they were SO dirty (kitty was a stray) that she wanted to make sure the difficult parts were taken care of while a Vet was close by, I really appreciate the extra time she gave the kitten. The wellness plans are a great deal, and I would recommend Banfield. They've been good to my kitties. Read Less

My dog had been displaying unusual behavior such as , loss of appetite, shakiness, and lethargy for two days, symptoms seemed to be worse and since I just got the dog I did not have a regular vet. I decided to look for the closest place to my home so I did some quick internet research and the Banfield Pet Hospital popped up. It was close by, stated they welcomed walk-ins, and showed office hours until 7 p.m. I got there at 6pm and I was told my dog could not be seen because they closed at 7? Both front desk girls were rude, they did not ask why was I coming in, I had to tell them I thought it was probably something real serious since he had all these symptoms. One of the girls called the vet and with an expression of unbelief and sarcasm told the vet that I claimed this had been going on for two days as if I were lying. Then I was told that I should go to the emergency room instead!! They gave me an address and when I asked how could I get there they did not know???? I felt soo angry and at the same time very sad for my dog. I do not understand how is it that these people work there. I know that close to the end of your working day everyone wants to go home as soon as possible, but 6pm was an hour before there closing time. Horrible people and questionable Vet. Would not take my pet there even if they paid me to do so. Read Less

Read Less
