I am posting this review almost a whole year late, but I hope this will help shine light on this facility. They only care about your money. They know you’ll pay anything for your pet’s health and they abuse their right. I took my cat here the day after Christmas because I noticed she had blood in her stool. They performed an exam and X-ray for $137. They said she needed to be sedated in order for them to perform further tests and they charged me $39 to sedate her. They charged me $49 to have a urine test EVEN THOUGH my cat had peed on herself in her carrier bag and they were unable to extract any urine from her. They also gave her a “convenia injection”, which I later found out it’s usually used for skin irritations. My cat did not have any skin irritations, I just wanted to know why she had bloody stools. This is a service I did but ask or come in for, but had to pay for anyway. They also charged me for additional medicine to take home. At the end of the day: I was charged $300, my cat was sedated out of her mind, they charged me for things she didn’t even need, they charged me for a urine test that they weren’t even able to perform, and THE WORST of them all, they did not tell me what was wrong with her. They said test was inconclusive and they sent me off with some pain medicine. Mind you, this was the day after Christmas. As you can imagine, every penny counts this time of year. The holidays are exhausting to one’s wallet. I was extremely upset. I felt robbed somehow and they still weren’t able to tell me what was the reasoning of my pet’s health issue. I will never come back to this facility and I never have. I am only writing this review now because my sister’s cat has become ill recently and she tried to go to this hospital. Luckily, they were closing soon, so they did not see her, but they did refer her out to another ridiculously expensive hospital that also stated her X-rays and exam were inconclusive and they needed to perform additional tests and surgery. I am glad that some people have had a positive experience in this animal hospital, but for me, it was the absolute worst and I would not recommend this facility to anyone who is thinking about coming here. Took my cat in for an infection cause by another cats bite. My cat began to lose a substantial amount of weight due to this and the vetenarian knowing well that the cat was too weak offered a neutering job. I agreed since I didn't want any more cuarrels between all my cats and so felt that since it was a professional oferring the service he must have known better but now after about 10 days my cats has passed away. I believe these team of people took advantage of my desperation for my cats well being that they just threw in a bunch of procedures only for the charge. Clearly to them pets ar only a means of getting money. My advice to their future patient's parents is to not let your emotional state cloud your better judgment when offered a bunch of procedures that they say is " better" to add on. Read Less

Called to ask about pricing for my dog's teeth cleaning and was quoted ~$290 that's supposed to be a "good" package  including health check up. I knew my dog needed to get a couple shots including incl. bordetella which is fine but found out there was exam fee when I got into the office for the shots. I walked out with a bill ~$500. Then I was told when leaving one of the shots need a booster in a couple weeks and it comes with another "exam" fee. What?? yeah skipping that (and also wasted the 1st as well). If that was the case, I would have gone to her regular vets where fees were a lot more transparent and felt more time was given to my dog in the check up instead of me bringing up issues that she had and then were addressed...not sure I will be returning. Extremely expensive, and doctors always jump to surgery for everything. My dog had "happy tail syndrome" where the tip of his tail would bleed when he wagged it too much, so I took him in hoping for an alternative to surgery. The vet pushed surgery to cut off part of his tail, so we went home & thought about it. We decided to wait it out for a week or so, even buying my dog a larger cage & being extremely careful with him. What do you know? Had we not waited we would've cut off his tail for nothing & caused him grief; his tail healed perfectly & is now back to normal. A few months later we went back because of a scab/mole on his face that we weren't sure what it was. Once again surgery was pushed to remove it, without the vet even knowing how to explain what it was. We went home once again with our very expensive surgery quote; & were about to schedule the surgery for the same week. While we were finding a way to get the money for the surgery, my dog's scab started disappearing, until it was no longer there. Brighton park used to be my first choice; a few years ago they had a wonderful vet who no longer works there. I will no longer be coming here, I'd rather go out of my way for my dog's health. WARNING: If you have a big-breed dog STAY AWAY.Their poorly designed waiting room calls for a room full of dogs getting rowdy with each other. They address the problem by discriminating against the dogs and pulling the biggest one from the waiting room regardless of its behavior. Other dogs were barking at my bulldog and my bulldog was calmly sitting by my legs and their staff came and pulled him from the waiting room and threw him in a cage. How does that make sense? My dog is well behaved yet he gets punished by isolation. This is also not the first time this has occurred. It's happened to me at their Cicero location as well. I thought that new location would be better designed to address this issue but it's just as bad. Will not be back! Read Less

Expensive! After owning my first dog I fell for it all there. They charged me for anything they can find. I think you're pretty much paying for cleanliness and high number of staff. For the same vaccines I now pay almost half of what these people would charge me. They do not require appointments so it works well if you have tight schedules. They handle emergencies also. Which is exactly how I found this place. I came here once when my pup ate something poisounous after my vet wouldnt see him without an appointment. Well I went to the first place I could think of given they have a huge sign outside mentioning no appts. needed. They immediately took the dog and hurried and helped him. Quick and efficent is exaclty what was the impression I got here. Two days later I was able to take my dog home. Surprisingly they were pretty reasonable with their rates. Given I have had dogs most of my life I can say their prices are VERY reasonable. Not to mention given it was an emergency....It was a steal of a bargain. Go to this place. You won't be sorry.

Terrible! Took my dog here because I thought he broke his leg. Did X-rays and said he was fine just some torn ligaments but overall a healthy dog. Well, turns out they were completely wrong. Went back for his check up and that's when they discovered they did X-rays on the wrong leg. Now it appears that my dog has cancer. On top of all that they wanted to charge me for their mistake!! I took my borde/collie after I couldn't find any other groomer available before I neuter my baby. I called Thursday and They scheduled an appointment for Friday at 10am. When I took my dog, the nurse told me that he need the Bordetella shot before he could see the groomer plus a dr. need to see him too, just to make sure that my dog was in good condition for grooming. The visit with the dr. Cost me $39, which is fine since my dog needed a check up... Everything was ok. The shot $33. The grooming $69. Awesome groomer! My dog looks like a puppy away! :) Read Less

I remember the last time I went I walked out of my room with my dog heading to the front desk staff to pay for my visit, I ran into the "dog trainer" asked him a quick basic question and the Dr. charged me a consultation with the dog trainer!I love my vet Dr.Vinu about 1 mile away down archer who is inexpensive and straight forward with you, no assumptions, no fancy stuff... honest.
