My sister had an older dog that had been going to this clinic for many years. We adopted a puppy and started going there 14 years ago. In the beginning, the service was amazing! They knew everything about my dog and he was greatly treated.
The last 5 -6 years turned terrible. At age 14, my dog died of severe liver cancer. We did not even know he had liver cancer.
The last few weeks when we were calling the vet because our dog was not eating, drinking, vomiting and had severe diarrhea they didn’t even make an effort to make an appointment to have our dog in, as ‘they were too busy’. They said to take him to the ER. In my opinion, knowing, that our dog was so fearful of being in the hospital or the clinic, and knowing this of our dog for the 14 years of medical history, didn’t care and just pushed him to another clinic. They ended up recommending us to Bond Vet on Damen, who were AMAZING. They moved appointments around for our dog who was in need…-They ended up finding a Huge cancer on his liver ….North Ave NEVER told us about this issue or found it….Unfortunately, my dog passed away the next day in his home due to that sickness. We brought him to a different hospital on the northside for cremation, they were amazing, Premier. Not only did Premier and Bond, send us handwritten letters of how much they felt sorry for our family and our kids for missing a dog, North Avenue did NOTHING. I called and let them know the dog they cared for 14 years passed… NOTHING. Do not go there you can find better clinics in the area that actually care

Our dog sometimes seems like the most important member of our family, so I wouldn't trust just anyone with her care. I have found Dr. Aldridge at North Avenue Animal Hospital to be kind, thorough and knowledgeable, and she always gives us plenty of her time. I never feel as though she is rushing through an appointment or glossing over any information or decisions. A big thumbs up (or should I say, wag of the tail?!) for North Avenue Animal Hospital!

I started going to this vet because I lived close by when I first moved to the city. I've since moved farther away but I keep going here because I love this vet. I have both a cat and dog and have seen most of the doctors at one point or another. They have always been thorough and honest with me and I've never had a bad experience. Even when I had to make the difficult decision to put down my cat, they were so great with me and made the experience less horrible. The rest of the staff are always cheerful and friendly and really seem to enjoy their jobs. I will definitely continue using this animal hospital for all my vet needs :)

Our dog needed stitches removed and we just moved to the area. We read reviews on North Ave Vet and decided to book an appointment with them. It was a great decision. The receptionists were welcoming and kind. We had Dr. Kritzman and she was awesome. She was extremely helpful and informative. She was attentive and personable. Just super great all around and made us feel very comfortable being new to the clinic. After one visit, I can tell she's interested in caring for our dog and not trying to sell us unnecessary services. We will be returning when our dog needs her annual check up. Super happy with North Ave Vet!

I've been to several vets in the city before settling at North Avenue about six years ago. I wouldn't take my cats anywhere else. Dr. Aldridge is one of the most compassionate, dedicated and intelligent vets I've been to see in my 40 years of pet ownership. I have two cats currently that both see Dr Aldridge and love her. She helped me through a long testing and treatment process with my elderly cat and then his long-term care including checking in with the specialists I went to see. When it was finally time to say good-bye, she was there with me, making it so much better. The support staff from the techs to the front desk are all amazing people. They love Kevin and Bacon and are excited when we come in - petting and chatting with them and looking at the photos on my phone. The office has a small parking lot, which is a plus for the area. It's clean and I've never had to wait long for an appointment. They are also great about seeing you same day if you're an overly anxious cat mom and get worked up when your cat sneezes.

We've been seeing Dr Aldredge for quite a few years now. All I can say is that she is wonderful! I went to 3 other vets in Chicago before we found her. She has that nice balance of caring for your pets and being practical. I never feel like we leave there being over sold or under cared for. North Ave is the perfect balance. Always easy to work with and easy to contact! And they always remember us!

We have nothing but love for this place and the people that work there. We've been through it all with our two dogs, and every time we've had to call upon North Ave Animal Hospital, they've demonstrated their passion for their work, their professionalism, and their compassion for the animals that come their way. Best of the best - definitely recommend. The entire staff is very friendly and attentive. We've seen a few vets over the years - all have been awesome - very knowledgeable and take the time to listen and answer questions. Most recently our dog went in for a dental and had to have a few teeth pulled. Dr. Cherrick took great care of her and also took the time to follow up to make sure everything was going smoothly. I would definitely recommend this animal hospital. You won't be disappointed

I can't say enough good things about about North Avenue Animal Hospital and it's wonderful staff - especially Dr. Cherrick and Stevie who are so patient and kind. Our cat Bo who was essentially a special needs cat took a turn for the worse recently, and had to be put down. It was a horrible and confusing time, and at one point I was calling them everyday for almost a week. This is a place that truly cares about animals and their humans - I am grateful for them.

I bring my 3 beloved rescues here and just love the care and attention they give them. Being that my animals are rescues they're not always as trusting with other people and other animals. They are accommodating, get us into a room quickly, patient with them when they're finicky, and overall so loving. The staff are so friendly and the prices are more than reasonable and I don't have to travel far for exceptional care. We love all the Dr's at North Ave. Dr Roman, Dr Cherrick, Dr Aldridge, and Dr Kritzman are all incredible doctors in their own way! The receptionists and techs are also just as awesome! I feel the need to write about my experience with North Ave Animal Hospital, specifically with Dr. Roman Tkaczuk. For several years I have taken my two dogs to a particular vet, whom I trusted very much. However, I always hesitated making appointments because I knew it would be expensive and I would receive a lecture about my inability to have procedures done that I couldn€t afford. I would inevitably leave the office feeling guilty about being a horrible pet owner.
I then went to North Ave Animal Hospital. Dr. Roman listed to my concerns, quoted me a fair price for a procedure, and reassured me that the dental procedure my dog needed would certainly improve her life and not ruin it as I had been previously led to believe. He was so calm with my dog and explained the process so thoroughly that I knew my dog was in great hands.
In addition, I have never seen an office staff so friendly and accommodating as the ones at North Ave Animal Hospital. All of them clearly love their jobs.
My dog is now at home recovering and Dr. Roman is my new vet for both my dogs. I€m so glad to have found North Ave Animal Hospital highly recommend Dr. Roman.

We have seen two vets here, and both have been great! My corgi, Tilly, loves the staff and loves going to their clinic. No hesitation to walk in the door, and it's always a challenge to actually get her to LEAVE when her visit is done! She would probably stay and help the staff all day if she could! When your dog is so happy to be at the vet you know you've found a great place.

Our dog needed stitches removed and we just moved to the area. We read reviews on North Ave Vet and decided to book an appointment with them. It was a great decision. The receptionists were welcoming and kind. We had Dr. Kritzman and she was awesome. She was extremely helpful and informative. She was attentive and personable. Just super great all around and made us feel very comfortable being new to the clinic. After one visit, I can tell she's interested in caring for our dog and not trying to sell us unnecessary services. We will be returning when our dog needs her annual check up. Super happy with North Ave Vet!

I've been to several vets in the city before settling at North Avenue about six years ago. I wouldn't take my cats anywhere else. Dr. Aldridge is one of the most compassionate, dedicated and intelligent vets I've been to see in my 40 years of pet ownership. I have two cats currently that both see Dr Aldridge and love her. She helped me through a long testing and treatment process with my elderly cat and then his long-term care including checking in with the specialists I went to see. When it was finally time to say good-bye, she was there with me, making it so much better. The support staff from the techs to the front desk are all amazing people. They love Kevin and Bacon and are excited when we come in - petting and chatting with them and looking at the photos on my phone. The office has a small parking lot, which is a plus for the area. It's clean and I've never had to wait long for an appointment. They are also great about seeing you same day if you're an overly anxious cat mom and get worked up when your cat sneezes.

We've been seeing Dr Aldredge for quite a few years now. All I can say is that she is wonderful! I went to 3 other vets in Chicago before we found her. She has that nice balance of caring for your pets and being practical. I never feel like we leave there being over sold or under cared for. North Ave is the perfect balance. Always easy to work with and easy to contact! And they always remember us!

Best of the best - definitely recommend. The entire staff is very friendly and attentive. We've seen a few vets over the years - all have been awesome - very knowledgeable and take the time to listen and answer questions. Most recently our dog went in for a dental and had to have a few teeth pulled. Dr. Cherrick took great care of her and also took the time to follow up to make sure everything was going smoothly. I would definitely recommend this animal hospital. You won't be disappointed

I can't say enough good things about about North Avenue Animal Hospital and it's wonderful staff - especially Dr. Cherrick and Stevie who are so patient and kind. Our cat Bo who was essentially a special needs cat took a turn for the worse recently, and had to be put down. It was a horrible and confusing time, and at one point I was calling them everyday for almost a week. This is a place that truly cares about animals and their humans - I am grateful for them.

I bring my 3 beloved rescues here and just love the care and attention they give them. Being that my animals are rescues they're not always as trusting with other people and other animals. They are accommodating, get us into a room quickly, patient with them when they're finicky, and overall so loving. The staff are so friendly and the prices are more than reasonable and I don't have to travel far for exceptional care. We love all the Dr's at North Ave. Dr Roman, Dr Cherrick, Dr Aldridge, and Dr Kritzman are all incredible doctors in their own way! The receptionists and techs are also just as awesome! Great staff, happy atmosphere, and my pups are happy and HEALTHY. Thank you north ave, from Nena, Hefty, and Doobie.

The atmosphere is professional, the waiting and treatment rooms spotless. I feel the need to write about my experience with North Ave Animal Hospital, specifically with Dr. Roman Tkaczuk. For several years I have taken my two dogs to a particular vet, whom I trusted very much. However, I always hesitated making appointments because I knew it would be expensive and I would receive a lecture about my inability to have procedures done that I couldn€t afford. I would inevitably leave the office feeling guilty about being a horrible pet owner.
I then went to North Ave Animal Hospital. Dr. Roman listed to my concerns, quoted me a fair price for a procedure, and reassured me that the dental procedure my dog needed would certainly improve her life and not ruin it as I had been previously led to believe. He was so calm with my dog and explained the process so thoroughly that I knew my dog was in great hands.
In addition, I have never seen an office staff so friendly and accommodating as the ones at North Ave Animal Hospital. All of them clearly love their jobs.
My dog is now at home recovering and Dr. Roman is my new vet for both my dogs. I€m so glad to have found North Ave Animal Hospital highly recommend Dr. Roman.

We have seen two vets here, and both have been great! My corgi, Tilly, loves the staff and loves going to their clinic. No hesitation to walk in the door, and it's always a challenge to actually get her to LEAVE when her visit is done! She would probably stay and help the staff all day if she could! When your dog is so happy to be at the vet you know you've found a great place.
