Front desk appeared busy distracted and like they didn't respect each other. I was called into a room and then had the door closed behind me I was alone in there without an explanation for about a second. The doctor examining my cat appeared nervous about handling her. She's a little hissy but I explained that she's gentle, but the doctor still appeared nervous. I paid $70 for very little.

Staff LIED while blatantly bumping my appt. The quality of care is not worth this kind of treatment. I'm taking my pup back to our Wicker park vet. It's a bit of a longer drive but at least they respect your time, furry baby and give a damn about being courteous.

I can say without a doubt the health and happiness of the animals they see is the number one priority for the staff at Uptown. I was very nervous to have my dog's teeth cleaned and the staff was very understanding. They helped explain the procedure and answered all the questions I had. Dr. Miller called after the procedure to explain what had happened and how my dog was doing. We're now two weeks out and I can tell our dog has never felt better.

Neither Gabby (dog) nor kAlley D. Coe (cat) like to go to the vet - what animal does? But both think that Dr. Jim Dickes at Uptown is the bees knees. Their moms think he is pretty special too. He is thorough - but not ridiculous - takes time with us and our pets and contacts us quickly with follow up info as needed. All of the staff are courteous and easy to work with. I would gladly drive an hour for this kind of care.

Everyone at Uptown is caring and considerate and the staff and vet techs are truly dedicated to people and their furry friends. Long time client here. Love Love Dr Dickes who has guided me through the care of multiple kitties -- 2 with kidney disease and one with IBS who gets prescription food. for a year I brought one cat here 3x week for fluids so I really got to see this place in action. The staff and techs here are very kind and follow up is consistent. They are a prize for the community and I highly recommend. (I have tried integrative pet, chicago cat clinic, and Heal. Ended up back here even though it's not close by my home anymore.

I was not going to write a review however after Hyde Park Animal Hospital called 11/26/16 on my behalf to inquire about medicine for my dog and was lied to about my dog ever being there which has been there many times was hung up on. One year ago next month I took my dog there because he was ill. I saw Dr. Tyler who was awesome. It was near closing time so she recommended I return the next morning for a fluid IV treatment which I did. I ended up seeing Rachael Stutzman because Dr. Tyler was booked. I wasn't in the room with her more than one minute and she was telling me I should euthanize my dog. I was stunned to say the least. I informed her Dr. Tyler said all my dog needs is fluid IV treatment. She went on to said I need to have x-rays and blood work done (which I felt was a scare tactic to jack my bill up which it did) and repeated to her I just need the fluid iv treatment. Needless to say I let her do x-rays and blood work. I came back later that day to get my dog after the fluid IV treatment and he was back to normal. I asked her what was it she found to say my dog should be euthanize and her exact words to me were I don't know we may never know. I was shocked! My recommendation is not to go see Rachel Stutzman if you want your dog around.

I've been going here for over 10 years. I love the staff and all vets I've seen (Dr. Beau, Dr. Miller, etc.). Everyone is very passionate about animals and very accommodating. I called this morning (a Saturday) because my cat is having labored breathing. They were able to squeeze us in within an hour and a half! Around the time I was supposed to be seen, a vet tech came out to tell me that Dr. Miller was running about 5 minutes late. It was no big deal but I really appreciated the fact that the vet tech was kind enough to let me know. They were thorough and caring throughout testing and had my cat's best interest at heart. They didn't want to stress her out more than necessary I really appreciated that as well! On a side note, Dr. Beau is my regular vet and she is great... especially for those interested in alternative treatment. Thank you, UAH, for being so wonderful. I plan on being a customer for life! <3

This is, hands down, the best vet clinic we have ever been to. The people are all wonderful; the space is clean, quiet, and reassuring; and the prices exceptionally reasonable. We've worked with several vets here to take care of our cats; they're all wonderful, but I need to especially note Dr. Miller's excellent surgical work, and Dr. Dickes' reassuring, patient, and kind approach. These doctors and technicians really love their work.

We had a terrible experience with Uptown Animal Hospital. On our first visit, the person at reception was cold and rude despite our friendliness (and continued with his rudeness throughout our visit). Then, the vet we had spoke to quickly, didn't provide enough explanation for services, and kept adding to our bill without talking to us. We would gladly spend what was recommended, but not at an animal veterinary hospital that was difficult to get a hold of, rude to us in person, and over-charged without explanation. I would DEFINITELY not recommend this hospital to anyone.

We are sad to report that we lost our sweet Martin yesterday. We adopted Martin & Lewis four months ago from a shelter in Texas. Martin was ill since we got them and all the tests and the treatments in the world just couldn't seem to help. Big love and shout out to the Uptown Animal Hospital, all the staff, and especially Dr. Jim Dickes. A more compassionate and dedicated veterinarian you will not find. We are giving Lewis all the extra love we can. He's never been separated from his brother in his 8 years. I know there are certainly more tragic issues going on in this world, but we're very sad.

What kind of veterinarian's office employs front desk individuals such as "Bob" who has the authority to talk to potential clients in such a rude and condescending manner?! I had my first appointment scheduled and Bob told me that they have to have previous paperwork from my pet's old veterinarian before an appointment. Unfortunately it so happened that they did not receive the paperwork from my old veterinarian so I explained that I asked the old veterinarian to fax the paperwork last week and I will try talking to them again but if you need the paperwork before seeing my pet then please reschedule the appointment for Monday. Bob later abrasively addresses me by saying "That's not our problem that your old veterinarian did not fax the paperwork OKAY?!" I asked if I could physically run over to my old veterinarian since I just got back into town and could still come into the appointment because it wasn't my intention to cancel. Bob responded, " That's not our problem! You have to call 24 hours ahead to cancel and you cannot have the appointment for today since you already rescheduled!" He continually cut me off while I was talking and and then said, "We will not answer anymore questions until you come in for the first appointment!" How disappointing-- let's just say that I would never go to a veterinarian's office that talks to clients in such a disgusting manner when something like getting paperwork from an old veterinarian was not completely under my control.

I can't say enough amazing things about Dr. Stutzman and the care and compassion she has shown me and my cat, Dignan! I went through a couple different vets before arriving here, and three times is definitely the charm. Dr. Stutzman is incredibly patient and knowledgeable about the feline persuasion. She has such great energy with Dignan, who is always terrified of the vet, but who seems to melt in her hands. She's just one of those people who you meet and INSTANTLY feel safe with. She goes above and beyond to explain your options, to follow-up and to provide a holistic approach to your kitty's health. I only wish I had come to her sooner. Thank you, Dr. Stutzman, for being such a kind and soulful presence during a tough time when I am feeling helpless to make my cat feel better. Also, a special shout-out to Gene, one of the vet technicians, who inspired and comforted me while giving Dignan his fluid therapy. Gene, you are a wonderful spirit and I appreciated your wise words so much!

A very well arranged and neat waiting area. Have been taking my two cats here for a few months now and all the appointments were made smoothly. The staff is always friendly and very efficient. Never a long wait to see one of the doctors and everyone takes the greatest of care with my boys. Although I haven't had one myself, I've seen firsthand how they handle emergency situations and they are fantastic. Its great to have such a fine establishment in our Andersonville neighborhood. I highly recommend them!

I usually have been able to get an appointment within 1 to 3 days of my call. The owner of Uptown Animal Hospital is Dr. John Mclellan, and he is a fantastic veteranarian. Anyone who has had a problem of any kind with the other Doctors at the hospital, should talk to Dr. Mclellan. I recommend all my friends with dogs and cats to Dr. Mclellan. Every one has been satisfied with his care of their animals.

Front desk appeared busy distracted and like they didn't respect each other. I was called into a room and then had the door closed behind me I was alone in there without an explanation for about a second. The doctor examining my cat appeared nervous about handling her. She's a little hissy but I explained that she's gentle, but the doctor still appeared nervous. I paid $70 for very little.

Staff LIED while blatantly bumping my appt. The quality of care is not worth this kind of treatment. I'm taking my pup back to our Wicker park vet. It's a bit of a longer drive but at least they respect your time, furry baby and give a damn about being courteous.

I can say without a doubt the health and happiness of the animals they see is the number one priority for the staff at Uptown. I was very nervous to have my dog's teeth cleaned and the staff was very understanding. They helped explain the procedure and answered all the questions I had. Dr. Miller called after the procedure to explain what had happened and how my dog was doing. We're now two weeks out and I can tell our dog has never felt better.

Neither Gabby (dog) nor kAlley D. Coe (cat) like to go to the vet - what animal does? But both think that Dr. Jim Dickes at Uptown is the bees knees. Their moms think he is pretty special too. He is thorough - but not ridiculous - takes time with us and our pets and contacts us quickly with follow up info as needed. All of the staff are courteous and easy to work with. I would gladly drive an hour for this kind of care.

Love Love Dr Dickes who has guided me through the care of multiple kitties -- 2 with kidney disease and one with IBS who gets prescription food. for a year I brought one cat here 3x week for fluids so I really got to see this place in action. The staff and techs here are very kind and follow up is consistent. They are a prize for the community and I highly recommend. (I have tried integrative pet, chicago cat clinic, and Heal. Ended up back here even though it's not close by my home anymore.

I was not going to write a review however after Hyde Park Animal Hospital called 11/26/16 on my behalf to inquire about medicine for my dog and was lied to about my dog ever being there which has been there many times was hung up on. One year ago next month I took my dog there because he was ill. I saw Dr. Tyler who was awesome. It was near closing time so she recommended I return the next morning for a fluid IV treatment which I did. I ended up seeing Rachael Stutzman because Dr. Tyler was booked. I wasn't in the room with her more than one minute and she was telling me I should euthanize my dog. I was stunned to say the least. I informed her Dr. Tyler said all my dog needs is fluid IV treatment. She went on to said I need to have x-rays and blood work done (which I felt was a scare tactic to jack my bill up which it did) and repeated to her I just need the fluid iv treatment. Needless to say I let her do x-rays and blood work. I came back later that day to get my dog after the fluid IV treatment and he was back to normal. I asked her what was it she found to say my dog should be euthanize and her exact words to me were I don't know we may never know. I was shocked! My recommendation is not to go see Rachel Stutzman if you want your dog around.

I've been going here for over 10 years. I love the staff and all vets I've seen (Dr. Beau, Dr. Miller, etc.). Everyone is very passionate about animals and very accommodating. I called this morning (a Saturday) because my cat is having labored breathing. They were able to squeeze us in within an hour and a half! Around the time I was supposed to be seen, a vet tech came out to tell me that Dr. Miller was running about 5 minutes late. It was no big deal but I really appreciated the fact that the vet tech was kind enough to let me know. They were thorough and caring throughout testing and had my cat's best interest at heart. They didn't want to stress her out more than necessary I really appreciated that as well! On a side note, Dr. Beau is my regular vet and she is great... especially for those interested in alternative treatment. Thank you, UAH, for being so wonderful. I plan on being a customer for life! <3

This is, hands down, the best vet clinic we have ever been to. The people are all wonderful; the space is clean, quiet, and reassuring; and the prices exceptionally reasonable. We've worked with several vets here to take care of our cats; they're all wonderful, but I need to especially note Dr. Miller's excellent surgical work, and Dr. Dickes' reassuring, patient, and kind approach. These doctors and technicians really love their work.

On our first visit, the person at reception was cold and rude despite our friendliness (and continued with his rudeness throughout our visit). Then, the vet we had spoke to quickly, didn't provide enough explanation for services, and kept adding to our bill without talking to us. We would gladly spend what was recommended, but not at an animal veterinary hospital that was difficult to get a hold of, rude to us in person, and over-charged without explanation. I would DEFINITELY not recommend this hospital to anyone.

We are sad to report that we lost our sweet Martin yesterday. We adopted Martin & Lewis four months ago from a shelter in Texas. Martin was ill since we got them and all the tests and the treatments in the world just couldn't seem to help. Big love and shout out to the Uptown Animal Hospital, all the staff, and especially Dr. Jim Dickes. A more compassionate and dedicated veterinarian you will not find. We are giving Lewis all the extra love we can. He's never been separated from his brother in his 8 years. I know there are certainly more tragic issues going on in this world, but we're very sad.

What kind of veterinarian's office employs front desk individuals such as "Bob" who has the authority to talk to potential clients in such a rude and condescending manner?! I had my first appointment scheduled and Bob told me that they have to have previous paperwork from my pet's old veterinarian before an appointment. Unfortunately it so happened that they did not receive the paperwork from my old veterinarian so I explained that I asked the old veterinarian to fax the paperwork last week and I will try talking to them again but if you need the paperwork before seeing my pet then please reschedule the appointment for Monday. Bob later abrasively addresses me by saying "That's not our problem that your old veterinarian did not fax the paperwork OKAY?!" I asked if I could physically run over to my old veterinarian since I just got back into town and could still come into the appointment because it wasn't my intention to cancel. Bob responded, " That's not our problem! You have to call 24 hours ahead to cancel and you cannot have the appointment for today since you already rescheduled!" He continually cut me off while I was talking and and then said, "We will not answer anymore questions until you come in for the first appointment!" How disappointing-- let's just say that I would never go to a veterinarian's office that talks to clients in such a disgusting manner when something like getting paperwork from an old veterinarian was not completely under my control.

I can't say enough amazing things about Dr. Stutzman and the care and compassion she has shown me and my cat, Dignan! I went through a couple different vets before arriving here, and three times is definitely the charm. Dr. Stutzman is incredibly patient and knowledgeable about the feline persuasion. She has such great energy with Dignan, who is always terrified of the vet, but who seems to melt in her hands. She's just one of those people who you meet and INSTANTLY feel safe with. She goes above and beyond to explain your options, to follow-up and to provide a holistic approach to your kitty's health. I only wish I had come to her sooner. Thank you, Dr. Stutzman, for being such a kind and soulful presence during a tough time when I am feeling helpless to make my cat feel better. Also, a special shout-out to Gene, one of the vet technicians, who inspired and comforted me while giving Dignan his fluid therapy. Gene, you are a wonderful spirit and I appreciated your wise words so much!

A very well arranged and neat waiting area. Have been taking my two cats here for a few months now and all the appointments were made smoothly. The staff is always friendly and very efficient. Never a long wait to see one of the doctors and everyone takes the greatest of care with my boys. Although I haven't had one myself, I've seen firsthand how they handle emergency situations and they are fantastic. Its great to have such a fine establishment in our Andersonville neighborhood. I highly recommend them!

I usually have been able to get an appointment within 1 to 3 days of my call. The owner of Uptown Animal Hospital is Dr. John Mclellan, and he is a fantastic veteranarian. Anyone who has had a problem of any kind with the other Doctors at the hospital, should talk to Dr. Mclellan. I recommend all my friends with dogs and cats to Dr. Mclellan. Every one has been satisfied with his care of their animals.
