They have been my vet for over three years. I loved this place before new ownership. The ability to walk in for appointments was so convenient. Now it’s by appointment only. Our dog ate 6 Hershey candy bars so called to see what we should do. I was told he needs to go to see a vet ASAP but I would have to take him somewhere else because they were booked. What?!?! They are our vet for three years since we got our dog and they can’t see him. I guess it’s time to move on to another vet who values their customers. I also find it very interesting you cannot leave a review anymore on their Facebook page.

I took my cat in for a rabies booster, and the cat just had its exam two months prior. When I came in I told them that he was only due for a shot. The vet saw him and examine him for only about 30 seconds looking at his ears teeth and poking him i. The stomach. Then she gave him the shot. I ended up getting charged for an examination and a shot for the cost of 85 dollars. I told the lady that checked me out that i was only in for a shot and she tried to excuse how he needs an exam before a shot. They also recommended a tooth cleaning for my cat and send me an estimate via email saying it will cost anywhere from $600 to $1,000. The cleaning up my last vet in the South Loop only cost $400. This places is a major rip off and they practice shady business, i wouldn't recommend it at all.

My puppy was a regular. I have attempted on four separate occasions over the last four weeks to set up an appointment via the website. All four times, this VCA failed to set up an appointment or even call me to follow up. My puppy is now overdue for heart worm check. I have no choice but to take him somewhere else and start over. What a nightmare. Please be careful trusting your loved ones with this organization, they clearly do not value their safety and care.
EDIT: In response to the owner's response, the course of action you describe does NOTHING to resolve the situation. You have an online booking system that you are allowing people to use but you're not filling the requests from. Over the last month that has not changed. Are you going to start filling the online requests? Are you removing the feature? Are you apologizing to those that did not receive responses? I couldn't be the only one.
Emailing a specific manager to book an appointment does not resolve my issue, nor the larger issue of your organization not taking the time to accommodate requests that your website claims that you do.

TL;DR: They don't show that they care about your animals, and why would you want a vet who doesn't care?
I do not recommend this place; really disorganized. My dog needs knee surgery and after the initial doctor's appt., this vet's office told me that they would call the orthopedic surgeon on call to find an available time for a surgical consult. I didn't hear back for over 3 days and when I called them again they realized no one had even reached out to the surgeon's office. So they told me they would do that and then call me with available times. Again.... no one called me back.. so 4 days later (so now this is going on for a week and my dog has been in serious pain and limping) I call again and they give me some times, I book one, then they call me back and say the surgeon can't do the time I booked. What a joke.
There are SO many options for animal hospitals/vets in this city, so this sort of disregard or disorganization is only going to hurt the business. I certainly will never return.

I certainly noticed a dramatic change in the service provided within the past couple months and from reading the recent reviews it sounds like we are all experiencing the same issues as of late.
I do receive odd reminders about vaccines that we recently received or just simply wrong dates.
Never see the same doctor, which I've typically accepted but now that my pet is getting older it would certainly be nice to have a doctor come in and have some knowledge of my pets history.
Appears there may have been a lot of staff turnover because I didn't recognize any of the employees our last visit which likely was the reason we left the location without receiving the services our appointment was intended for.
I used to love the convenience and service here...I do hope they get things turned around but I'll be taking my pet elsewhere for now.

This place seems to be having problems with new ownership. Twice now I have received a string of emails about a shot that was due for my dog. I call promptly to make an appointment for the shot. When I arrive for the appointment I am told they don't have the medication in stock. When this happens repeatedly, one begins to wonder about the trust level a customer can give them. Nor does it help to see a different vet at each visit -- never one that has been seen before. Nor learn that that front desk has incomplete records for my dog, or issues receipts that mix my dogs records with anothers.

I used to take my dog here but I wound up switching to a different vet. For one, I got a different doctor every time I went in which I didn't like. Most of the doctors are young. The place is large and fast paced. Waiting area is nice with free coffee. When my dog got hit by a car I got quoted a really high price for just an x-ray/diagnosis, and when I questioned the vet why it was so expensive, she dropped the price significantly on the spot. This kind of left a bad taste for me- why was I originally quoted 300% the national average for an x-ray and then why was it so easy to drop the price? It didn't seem honest. The front desk is really helpful and nice. Everybody is polite. But whenever with the doctor it always seemed they were in a hurry since there were tons of people waiting. The prices are definitely in the top range but I guess that comes with the area. Overall this place has pretty good reviews so if it is convenient for you to come here, maybe give it a shot, but it was not a good fit for me. My new vet (Wicker Park Veterinary Clinic) is smaller, slower pace, and definitely more affordable.

Very frustrated. I have been here now for almost 2 hours and have not been seen yet. We have been coming here for 5 years and slowly service has gone down, especially with all the company changes that happened. Also, our vet left last week, so now there is push back to giving our pup Sub Q fluids since she is not here and the current vet is not familiar with her. There are 50 pages of records on our dog, and I know this because I have them all on my phone. None of the original Dr's are here and we will not be returning.

The Care Center was well maintained and took in my cat last minute. However, the service is slow and they did multiple test we had to pay for but at time of drop off only one was mentioned and approved by use. Also, we had to visit the vet after, because our cat came back with a cold, which I understand can happen, but it seems odd they gave her a shot for something she ended up coming back with anyway.

Phenomenal staff and treatment! Highly recommended- everyone who works there loves every animal; you can just tell! Wouldn't ever consider going to a new vet. Animal Care Center of Chicago was able to diagnose our dog, Remmington, when numerous different veterinaries couldn't when he had a major medical issue.

When we first starting taking our dog here, people were friendly and vet actually took the time to speak with us. The last couple of months, service and quality have definitely gone down. Tonight was the final straw. Our pup broke one of his nails and was bleeding pretty bad. Called and they said they could see him but it would be an emergency visit fee. Fine...no problem. Got there and was knocking on the window with my dog in my arms. Two women that worked there, just looked and me and didn't even come. Finally one came to the door and told me that they were closed. Told them what the issues was and told me the closest place I could go to was Countryside and they couldn't help me. Then proceeded to close the door. Horrible service...Will be looking for a vet that actually cares about quality and customer service.

Good to see others have had a good experience, but I found them to be incredibly salesy and not especially caring of my dog or me. I took my recently rescued dog in for a checkup and rather than take the time to talk to me and carefully inspect my dog, they immediately tried to sell me every service and product. They don't tell you how much things cost unless you stop them and ask, and I'm confident that the services and medicines they were trying to sell me were mostly unnecessary. I want caring veterinarians and staff that are genuinely concerned about the welfare of animals and their customers. Not sales people. There are way better options out here.

They have been my vet for over three years. I loved this place before new ownership. The ability to walk in for appointments was so convenient. Now it’s by appointment only. Very frustrated. I have been here now for almost 2 hours and have not been seen yet. We have been coming here for 5 years and slowly service has gone down, especially with all the company changes that happened. Also, our vet left last week, so now there is push back to giving our pup Sub Q fluids since she is not here and the current vet is not familiar with her. There are 50 pages of records on our dog, and I know this because I have them all on my phone. None of the original Dr's are here and we will not be returning.

The Care Center was well maintained and took in my cat last minute. However, the service is slow and they did multiple test we had to pay for but at time of drop off only one was mentioned and approved by use. Also, we had to visit the vet after, because our cat came back with a cold, which I understand can happen, but it seems odd they gave her a shot for something she ended up coming back with anyway.

Phenomenal staff and treatment! Highly recommended- everyone who works there loves every animal; you can just tell! Wouldn't ever consider going to a new vet. Animal Care Center of Chicago was able to diagnose our dog, Remmington, when numerous different veterinaries couldn't when he had a major medical issue.

I like that this is a walk in center with parking in a loading zone right in front. I was able to get my dog in within 15 minutes and saw the vet in another 5 minutes. I like that it's more flexible so that I can come in without an appointment and won't get charged emergency care rates.

When we first starting taking our dog here, people were friendly and vet actually took the time to speak with us. The last couple of months, service and quality have definitely gone down. Tonight was the final straw. Our pup broke one of his nails and was bleeding pretty bad. Called and they said they could see him but it would be an emergency visit fee. Fine...no problem. Got there and was knocking on the window with my dog in my arms. Two women that worked there, just looked and me and didn't even come. Finally one came to the door and told me that they were closed. Told them what the issues was and told me the closest place I could go to was Countryside and they couldn't help me. Then proceeded to close the door. Horrible service...Will be looking for a vet that actually cares about quality and customer service.

Good to see others have had a good experience, but I found them to be incredibly salesy and not especially caring of my dog or me. I took my recently rescued dog in for a checkup and rather than take the time to talk to me and carefully inspect my dog, they immediately tried to sell me every service and product. They don't tell you how much things cost unless you stop them and ask, and I'm confident that the services and medicines they were trying to sell me were mostly unnecessary. I want caring veterinarians and staff that are genuinely concerned about the welfare of animals and their customers. Not sales people. There are way better options out here.
