Dr. Scott & Dr. Murphy are awesome! You can tell that they really care about the well being of my pup and he is not just seen as a #. They take the time to explain what they are doing and never rush you when you have questions. I've recently moved to the South Loop and made the mistake of trying a vet in the area - never again! We have been bringing our German Shepherd here for over 5 years. Recently she had an opening on her nose that resembled a small cut at first, we brought her in immediately to get it looked at and were sent home with assurances it was no big deal. Over the next few months it continued to grow and look infected. She had 4 vet visits in that time every one ending with a prescription for different medications and antibiotics and more assurances that it was not a real issue. We finally took her for a second opinion and turns out it's cancerous, and at this point her entire right nostril needs to be surgically removed. We are beyond upset and feel like the vets here we trusted have failed us. Read Less

My dog had a 3rd Lepto vaccine today (2 of 2), the tech offered the flu vaccine right away after I declined it 3 weeks ago. The doctor came in offered it again along with heart and tick medication; had she read his file for one minute she would have known heart medication was purchased and I had declined the other 3 weeks ago. She also asked if he needed an exam; I nearly lost it. No my dog is healthy and he doesn't need a 3rd exam when he had one 3 weeks ago and another (his annual) a month before that. Not to mention I thought this vaccine was already paid for which just added to my frustration. If anyone reads this and has had a great experience in Chicago, please let me know. In two months, I've had $3,500 in vet bills (cat and dog). I'm pretty upset doctors walk into rooms unprepared at this amount of money. These pets are my family and beyond love. I expect quality and thoroughness. Reason for visit: I had a terrible experience with my dog at Higgins Animal Clinic, and would not recommend this clinic to anyone in the Chicagoland area. My dog was adopted from OTAT, and was seen at Higgins at the time of intake. When requesting records to be sent to daycare, Higgins had NO records for my dog. When it came time to update his vaccinations, and complete a 6 month fecal (required by daycare), I was charged $331.50 for the visit. He tested positive for giardia, and the clinic administered a Leptospirosis vaccine (1 of 2). The second vaccine was to be completed two weeks after, but with his diagnosis for giardia, he didn't go back for the second vaccine. The clinic administered lepto WITHOUT informing me he would need to have the first vaccination twice NOR did they call to say he could come in for the second vaccination even though he had a 10-day medication for giardia and was quarantined for 2 weeks after completion. I've scheduled another appointment with this clinic, because my primary vet in WI was not available during the time I was traveling back. My dog was seen on 2/6 and I'll be charged another exam fee ($67.00), they will administer the first vaccine of lepto a SECOND time, along with DA2PP, and his rabies booster. He was seen on 2/6, his lepto was due 2/27 and DA2PP due 2/18, they administer lepto but not DA2PP, and didn't ask if I wanted to do his rabbies booster early (due 3/13) to get him on a schedule where he wasn't going in for vaccinations back to back months. Dr. Murphy and all the team here are amazing. We recently relocated in Phoenix and we truly miss them. Our two dogs (Labradors) were brought to them from puppies, and we were lucky to see them grow and nurture under the car of WWAH. Read Less

I have been bringing my dear animals (6 cats, 1 crazy Beagle) to West Wrigley since Dr. Murphy opened her practice. I am always pleased by the care given to my 'family' whether it be routine shots or dental surgery. Dr. Murphy and her staff are super efficient and are really nice people also. Their hours are very accommodating and they even have free parking . If you live in the general area, give West Wrigley a try. Actually I live in the Northwest part of town and I am happy to drive a few extra miles to get the wonderful service Dr. Murphy and her staff provide. They even have 2 resident cats who great you and help prepare your bill..... Read Less

I brought my cat into the office for a first visit because he had a mouth infection and Dr. Murphy was very concerned and professional about the cat's diagnosis and treatment. She didn't try to push a lot of expensive tests on us, just what was needed to determine treatment. The office is very comfortable and the staff is very friendly and helpful. They have early morning hours which are great and parking alongside the office. All-in-all it was a great experience and I would recommend her to take care of anyone's pet. Read Less
