The receptionist was not nice attitude she was raising her voice and giving me an attitude. You can sense they dont want to answere the phone or help. Customer service requires patience not everyone that calls knows exactly what it is there pet needs when you call to make an appointment. Remember that because of the clients you have a job. The staff is the worst ever incentive no compassion for the owners feeling nor the animals. Sassy rude nasty attitude from lead office receptionist. Bragging how long she has work there and making fun of me when I ask her a general question. THE WORD IS NEUTERING GENIS.  We are not medical professionals don't use medical terms to freak us out and then laugh and use sarcasm when we don't know what you are talking about about. Really old run down place. YOU LOST A CUSTOMER. U should let the pet owner help if you can't there animal to cooperate. Not treat the pwt parent like there kids and send them back to the waiting room when we ask to help our animals cry for help. PETS ARE FAMILY IDIOTS. My boyfriends mother took her beagle who had a large lump on the base of her tail. One of the doctors told her "we need to amputate it". His mother had gone to a few other locations to get more opinions. As she mentioned to the doctor what other doctors said having nothing to do with amputation, he said "go to those doctors then". i told her about a better and cheaper vet in summit and all it was an infection that needed surgery to drain the inside. Do not go here due to the lack of knowledge and ignorance. It may even cost you your pets tail.Read Less

My family & friends have been to Dr. Janda for years. He treats the animals with care and kindness, they love going to the doctor. I do have to say that the parking situation is limited. The prices are reasonable, Dr. Janda always has time to discuss any problems ; whether it's on the phone or in the office. I also love the older receptionist in the mornings, she's great! Read Less

I have had nothing but good experiences at Janda Hospital. The doctor is gentle with my pets and informative with me. The staff is friendly and runs on time.Yes the doctor is "old school" as mentioned in other posts. I believe this means he is more concerned with the health of his patients and less concerned with social media and redecorating his office. This keeps his prices affordable. As someone who has worked at a pet hospital, I truly appreciate this. I'm also very sympathetic to having to deal with how crazy and irrational people can get concerning their pets. Read Less

WARNING! My family has been going to Janda for over 15 years,  so obviously when I moved away I continued to bring my dog to Dr Janda. I recently visited, to drop off a stool sample as requested by a postcard they had mailed me. I have NEVER had worse service especially here, as I did that day. To make a long story short, the girl that was there was EXTREMELY rude. Talked over me and in a loud condescending manner. When I complained to Dr Janda about the way she talked to me, and how I would be taking my dog elsewhere, because of the experience, he never apologized.. What kind of business is being run here?  I've already alerted all family members and this business has already lost 8 families ..  It's a shame what one lousy person can cause to what was once a great place.  ... They treated me and my cat well. I don't have anything negative to say about them. They did the best they could and worked with me when I needed them. I drove from Westmont to have my dog get her rabies shot & her glands expressed.While I was there the Dr. found that my little angel had a Yeast infection in her ears and tapeworms from when she had picked up fleas last summer. He took great care of her and gave me the medicine for the problems all for $139. I used to go there in the 80's and 90's when I lived in Cicero, I am happy he is still in practice. Don't be fooled by the look of the outside of the building. The place is clean, affordable and the staff is very friendly. If your looking for a vet to treat your animal, then you need to go here. I really like Dr. Janda.  The real test for me was actually watching my dog Tyler's reactions, and they were quite remarkable.  Tyler was scared to death of the last vet he had, and was always stressed-out by the atmosphere and the apparent rough treatment that other animals were experiencing.  Not so with Dr. Janda!  He is kind and gentle...very easy-going.  Animal's can sense things--good and bad--about us humans, but especially veterinarians.About a month ago, my Tyler was having some kind of painful problem, and actually led me to go to see Dr. Janda.  He had no problem going into the hospital, and appeared relaxed once he got there.  After a couple of weeks on some meds, and a few prayers, Tyler got back to his old self again.  I could not be happier!!Sometimes it's worth taking the time to see how your pet is reacting to a vet.  It makes a real difference for the animal's ability to trust the vet, which could make a difference with how well or how quickly your pet will cooperate and recover. Dr. Janda is pretty awesome. We've taken all of our animals here. Even when we moved out of Cicero, we would drive in from the Western Burbs because he is so good with animals. And very affordable! Sadly, we had to put one of our animals down and he gave us (well, more my mom cause I couldn't handle it) time before and after to say goodbye and to mourn before he took her away. This review is long over-due!   I, too, love, love, love Dr. Janda!, . We have been bringing our  cats to Dr. J for 35 years and think he, his wife, and all of his staff are the greatest.  He truly cares about the animals, and really knows his stuff.  He's always been correct in diagnosing the issues my cats had.  And he could have left the neighborhood years ago to make more money, but he stays and gives his customers a break on the cost.   And he can't have much of a social life -- he's there all week and keeps long hours!  We, also, thank you ( your wife, and your staff) for your dedicated service!  (And I disagree with the bowl of mashed potatoes comment -- you have a great sense of humor! I've been taking my dogs to Dr. Janda for over 20 years and he is great. He's got the personality of a bowl of mashed potatoes but his staff is always friendly. It's a drive for me but well worth it. Not only do I trust the care my animals are given, but the prices cannot be beat. On an average, you can expect to pay 25% to 50% less. Read Less

This place is one of the WORST I've ever been to. The vet that examined my puppy was rude and it looked like he hated his job. He did not treat my puppy very nice and he didn't even want to examine him thoroughly because he said they were about to close, eventhough there was a whole hour left. He also shoved his fat finger inside my puppy's behind when that was not necessary because he already had a stool sample. He did it and said nothing after that.We ended up going somewhere else where they treated my puppy with love, just like I do. The girl at the front desk was pretty friendly and the prices are also cheap. I guess you get what you pay for. If you want your pet to be violated for no reason and you want to be treated like you owe them something, this is the place for you. Read Less

Dr. Janda is a gem in Cicero.   I took my cats Pepino and Lentil to him because a good friend referred me, and because the price of my neighborhood vet in West Lakeview was so prohibitive, I felt that I wouldn't be able to afford care for both cats if I continued in their service.   So, I decided to jump the border and drive all the way to Cicero when my cats needed their check ups, shots, and even recently when Mr. Lentil had some gas-tro issues.   Dr. Janda is so gentle with my two boys, and doesn't cost half my house payment.   He always spends time and the cats actually like him - his staff is very friendly, and though the clinic isn't fancy or new, they take great pride in caring for animals.   I've seen other animal families come in while I'm there and everyone is treated so well + my friends have been taking their pets to Dr. Janda for over 15 years.   I'll make the drive to Cicero, it's worth it.
