We went in with my hedgehog (mind you, I didnt expect thd doc to know too much but it was an emergency) he suddenly had a purple and red blister on his back foot that was the size of his foot. Our usual vet wasnt open so we rushed him here. We waited an hour to be seen, later they said they had a dog in the back having seizures so we would have to wait. When we were seen she picked up the hedgehog incorrectly which made him panick and ball up, he laid on his back curled into a poke monster and she stood there for what felt like hours trying to talk him into unrolling himself. Eventually I grabbed him and calmed him down so she could look. "seems like an infection" she said "we'll have to gas him and give him antibiotics." okay, perfect, just please help him. Took him to the back for about half an hour. He came back drowsy and curled up in a towel. We went to pay the fees and the woman at the counter says "so, she decided not to give your hedgehog antibiotics. She clipped his nails, it was probably just an ingrown toenail" what? So, you did nothing? "here's the bill, $120" uh... Okay? For what? "mostly for gassing him, and because we're an emergency clinic" okay fine.
Im leaving and I read the paper that has the diagnosis on it. Says the foot pigmentation is just different on his feet which is why the coloring looked weird and that his nails were the problem. Okay... Ive known this hedgehog since he was born, he has never had that color on his foot. Oh well. Maybe it'll get better now that she took care of his nails. Less than a few days later, the blisters have spread to his other foot and he's vomiting. And come to find out, that dog in the back having seizures while we were there? It died on their table, and they wouldnt let the owner even see the body. He just had to walk out with no closure and no support or comfort from the staff.
I dont think I trust this clinic anymore. Read Less
