We have been bringing our dog to Dr. Miller for a couple of years now with great success. All of the staff is sooo friendly and knowledgeable. They obviously love animals and care about making sure they are taken care of and healthy. They provide options for pay, answer all questions, and willingly do anything to assure pet healthiness. These folks are there when you need them. I recently had an issue with one of my fur buddies and it was on a sunday when I called them. After about 700.00 dollars at the bettendorf emergency vet and absolutely no help and nothing done I called Oakwood on a sunday begging to get in Monday first thing. After no sleep Sunday night they called me a bit after 7:00 Monday before they were even open and told me to get my pup there right away...God bless you folks and thanks so much. I'm not a big hater usually when it comes to bad service...but I will never again use the bettendorf vet and will spent a lot of time here on out urging others to avoid them as much as possible....I know the time will come and there will be no choice. Perhaps I just got "That one bad non caring vet"....I hope it don't happen to you....I stayed up listening to her cry all night. I have nothing but great things to say about Oakwood! I have been using this clinic for 23 years. Last year, my 10-year-old cat, Lorelei, was diagnosed with lung cancer and I had to have her put down a month later. Dr. Jamie Miller sat with me as I let my kitty go. She and her staff were so caring. Then in Oct., I had to have my 14yo pug, Lexie Star, put down due to lymphoma. Dr. Jane Fixen had been Lexie's vet from day one and was their to help me through her final day. If I get any more pets, I will use Oakwood even though there is a vet in my home town. Read Less

My Brittany Punkin often has a reaction to her updated vaccinations....she did last week. I called Oakwood Vets on Saturday morning with my concerns that she was listless, shaking and generally not feeling well. Dr. Jane was not in on saturday so Dr. Rock took over. He had her feeling back to normal by sunday afternoon with a prescription of Rimadyl. This clinic is THE BEST! Read Less

Love this place! The staff is so friendly and caring! It by far exceeds any other veterinary service I have ever taken my pup to. I am always able to get an appointment quickly, usually within a few days! I absolutely LOVE that I am able to get my pup's heartworm shot here. When we first moved here I called every place in the area and this was the only clinic that had it on hand. They're also incredibly knowledgeable and very patient with my sometimes ridiculous questions. I first came to Oakwood a few months ago bc the vet I was seeing had basically written off my Hairless Chinese Crested (Clyde aka bubbies or handsome boy) The previous vet had sent us to a specialist last year and my boy underwent surgery for Liver shunts. We started noticing increased urination and in testing for the reason on this the old vet informed us that our dog had 'simply lost the genetic lottery'. We then took him to Oakwood (Dr. Miller) and she was able to find the cause of his issues. Unfortunately he then started having even more issues- Focal Seizures and major weight loss. Dr miller again came to his rescue and found that he had microscopic inoperable liver shunts. He was prescribed anti seizure meds and special food (both he will have to take for rest of his life) and he has now been seizure free for over a month now and has gained all the weight he lost plus a bit more :) I cant wait to bring my other furbaby (Roxy) in to them!
