I wish there was a way I could give "0" stars because I would. My family spent hours at this place yesterday. Even though the receptionist was very nice. My dog was taken as soon as we arrived and then about 20 minutes later we were told that an ultrasound was done on her. We didn't give consent for it But they couldn't see anything xrays were needed. Said is would be 300+ for however many. I agreed to one. Not even 10 minutes later came and for us had us sit on this room. Doctor comes in. Not a pleasant woman either. Telling us all this stuff is wrong with our dog.. Then said it would be 5000 for her to have surgery that second. Wouldn't give us any other options. When we said we didnt have that kind of money told us she would give her fluids, antibiotics, pain meds and we have to hope for the best. When they brought our dog out she literally had a camel hump. They said it was normal. She died 5 hours later. I just can't believe once we said we didnt have 5000 the doctor then basically dismissed us. I hope that doctor was able to sleep last night because I didnt. I was consoling my kids because their dog was dead. Read Less

She was seen immediately & all options were discussed honestly & it was decided there were no further treatments to improve her current status -- the staff eased my girls suffering with compassion & nurse even shed tears for her. Originally I took my dog to her regular vet because she lost her appetite and was a bit lethargic. I was told that she needed emergency surgery right away. She gave me a list of places I could take her. But she highly recommended this one. I chose this place because I been here once before. The staff was extremely kind and understanding! My dog gets scared very easily and is not the easiest to handle. They never said they couldn't do it or couldn't handle her! They did the surgery that night and called me right after they were done. My dog had to spend more than 24 hours there and I was constantly calling to check how she was doing. Every single time I called I got the nicest response and the doctors were very informative. They walked me through the whole process and answered every single question I had. When my dog came home she seemed totally normal and herself. She had surgery the year before (at her regular vet) and the process of her healing took far longer than this past time. And I believe that's due to the constant care they gave her!! I sincerely want to thank the staff from here for saving my dog's life!! I would highly recommend this place!!! And if i ever have another pet emergency, I know this is where I would go! Read Less

The lady at the desk was nice on arrival. My cat was lethargic and not eating. The nurse that attended to him seemed like she had never handled a cat before. When she put in the rectal thermometer she said “this is not what I had planned for tonight.” She did not hold him well when she inserted the thermometer and he kept wiggling around the table until I helped hold him in place. He had a fever. She took him to the back to have the doctor look at him. When the doctor came in he asked me to run through the cats symptoms again. He said they didn’t know what the problem could he and suggested blood work, a urine test, and X-rays. They quoted me over $1300. I understand not being able to tell what the problem is without doing further testing but the vet mentioned it could be cancer which I thought was quite a drastic diagnosis given the symptoms and there not being any indication of masses... I told them I’d take him to a regular vet in the morning and asked for them to give him fluids since he was a bit dehydrated. The doctor too seemed very awkward interacting with the cat and didn’t seem to understand that my little guy was nervous and scared and wanted to hide. When the nurse came in the cat was trying to hide and she said “Oh it seems like he’s getting excited.” They gave him fluids and the bump on his back was almost nonexistent leading me to question if they gave him fluids at all. Didn’t tell me how much fluid they gave him. The doctor also suggested nausea medication and antibiotics that could have interfered with further testing done at the regular vets office in the morning. Upon going to check out the same lady at the front desk who was nice before now had an attitude. I paid 180$ for them to say I don’t know what the problem could be. All in all very unprofessional and it honestly seemed like neither the doctor or the nurse had ever treated a cat before. Unless it’s a dire emergency don’t take your pet here. The only reason they get away with charging as much as they do and treating people and pets the way they do is because they’re the only 24 hour vet in the area. Read Less

My dog died here This place is a nightmare for any body that loves their pet, I regret bringing my dog that was bit by my other dog. they did not care about helping my dog unless I had money up front . or even ask me the health about my other dog I did not bring my other dog and thank god because her bit was not major wounds and is fine now . there was not septic infection like I was told by the vet that was the reason she was dying on her table.he wanted more money saying the money I gave them was running out and they wanted more money to do more on her when my dog was bit two days before and on the second day she was walking and drinking water. She just needed stiches I told them my other dog was bit to but did not even ask about her or her health just caring about the my dog that was there ,the only thing they care here is money to start helping. This Emergency vet is just a scam so dont bring your dog unless u want go your pet to die and spend over 2000 that nurse vet ask before they can even start any treatment. What get me more mad is that when I was walking out the door to go pick my dead dog from the back of this place and this lady ask me if I left a deposit down . when I did not see this lady the whole day like do u know what just happen or why I'm here this place just care about money she did know my dog died I ask for my refund and they said no in a laughing way like I was crazy. Brought are cat in who was not eating . Took an X-ray said he had some gas bubbles and all that was needed was supportive care (fluids and anti nausea medicine) followed up with our primary vet brought the X-rays taken at Premier and our primary noticed right away there was a foreign body obstruction in the original X-ray. very didsapointed in the skill level shown at this facility . I would not reccomend this facility, unfortunately made the mistake of going here I will not make this mistake again. As a health care professional this would be classified as negligence in my field. I just came back from this awful place a few minutes ago. My cat has no strength, shaking , and could not stand and they were being rude to my mother and telling her they are not going to do anything unless she comes up with a thousand dollars . My childhood cat may die tonight and knowing she couldn't even get a little bit of help until we can get her to our vet in the morning is sick. And if I i new the name of the man who was talking to my mother very disrespectfully I would put it in this review. I do not recommend this place to anyone who loves their Pets. Read Less

The staff at Premier was outstanding when I visited to have my elderly cat put to sleep yesterday. They understood the sensitivity of the situation and put us in a private room soon as we arrived. They clearly explained what our options were, the costs and how the procedure would go. They gave us ample time to decide how we wanted to do it and were extremely professional during the entire process. I can't say enough about how wonderful the staff at Premiere was. Our little puggle Coco needed to have a mass removed. Our regular vet recommended Premier as this was the second surgery and the mass was huge. Dr. Jankovits and his surgical work were amazing. He and all the staff were so caring and concerned and gentle. Dr Jankovits explained everything very well and even drew diagrams. Follow-up care was great. Highly recommend. I have been to this vet before, so I decided to go again when my dog collapsed. When I got there and saw the vet, she took vitals and told me she thinks my dog has gotten into some marijuana. I told her there was no way, since I do not smoke anything, and they have only been with me, in the house. She then proceeds to insist that I come clean so she can help my dog, $200 later she says "She has symproms of marijuana poisoning, and it will have to wear off." I ask is there anything else you can do, she says get a blood test and xras, which is approximately $1000. Dr. Novaik was horrible, lacked empathy, and insulting. I recently lost my dog in a horrific way and took him while still alive to this Animal hospital and from the time I walked in they whisked him away and took care of him immediately. They were the nicest people. Nicole was so helpful compassionate and understanding when I brought him in and when I learned I was losing him. They even sent me a card that she wrote in personalizing it. In order to write something i had to give a star but this is the worse place ever rude receptionist,so my dog got hit by a car so i went there cause thats soppose to be an emergency vet but i guess my dog getting hit wasnt an emergency.So i got in there mind u i am in tears and shock and scared so i go in and tell the receptionist that my dog got hit and i need a dr so she gives me a paper told me to fill it out while im still holding my dog.then she said its 109 im like i have no money on me i was in a hurry to get her checked i said can i leave her here so i can go home and get money she said well we cant see her till u pay so i called my neighbor begged her to bring money so she did and when i told her my neighbor was coming she went in the back and the dr came out ,took her and checked her and said her tail,legs and maybe spine is broken and she wont be able to pee or poop so she the best way so she wont be in pain was to put her to sleep wow i started crying even more.so then the receptionist said in order to check her good i would have to pay 600 so i said ok can i leave her and go home and get the money she said no if u leave the dog has to leave with u i couldnt believe she said that while my poor baby was in pain.So thank god my neighbor was there and didnt like what the lady said so in the end all my toy poodle had was a broken pelvis and a rip in her bladder its alot but nothing what that other doctor said she is being taken care of by Dr.G at brighton park animal hospital.He is a special Doctor i my eyes .He saved my baby he said if she is alive after getting hit he is going to do what he can to save her and not give up on her.So he fixed her bladder and when that heals he will fix her pelvis God Bless Him.I paid 109 so those other people to be rude and to kill my dog,even my worse enemy i wouldnt tell them to take their dog there.I would tell them to go to BRIGHTON PARK ANIMAL HOSPITAL the best place that care about animals.The staff and docs are wonderful thx for reading. Took my 8 year old Blue Russian cat to this facility last evening at 3:00 a.m. when he had not urinated for almost 24 hours. Had I not been so concerned for his welfare I reluctantly took him to this clinic. I found the Vet Dr extremely cold and hard. After quoting me three ranges of treatment ranging from $1092 to $2700 for treatments, I authorized the least and what would relieve the immediate pain he was in. I knew I could follow up with my primary vet at 8:00 that morning. The vet tech was extremely nice and provided me with pain Meds and some pills for pressure in his bladder. No antibiotic for his problem. Upon visiting my primary vet, she was extremely shocked at the bill for services charged that were extremely escalated and some things that could have been detained knowing I would be following up with my doctor. I find this facility dollar conscious in their statement of choices of service. Why pay emergency prices for a vet whose regular hours are from midnight to 8 in the morning. Had my vet not been in surgery til midnight that evening she would have taken care of my loved pet and not charged an arm and a leg. Hopefully they will take Premier off their phone recommendation for after hours help. I'm ready to hire a vet that will work nights cause they want to and be a value to those of us seniors on a fixed income. Need I say more? Stay away from Premier if at all possible. If you even think your pet is having a problem be safe and run to you primary vet.Read Less

I went there due to my cat wasn't walking with her hind legs. Dr. Lisa M. Costello was awesome. She was very kind with my cat and concerned for her. She gave us her diagnosis it could of gone either way with my cat ,but with the medicine given to my cat she was back to normal in 2 days little by little she got her walking on with all 4 legs. Had a wonderful experience with my dog after he was attacked by another dog last night. The staff was pleasant and explained all their procedures to me. Doctor actually laid on the ground with my dog, who was traumatized and scared, and calmed him down and hugged him while he checked his wounds. I would for sure recommend to others Read Less

As an animal lover, this is the most money hungry, awful clinic I have ever been to. As a social worker, and graduate student, I have a limited income, but I love my dog. I brought my dog in last week after he chewed and swallowed some carpet. After being charged $400 for X-Rays, I was then told my dog's surgical procedure to remove the carpet would be up to $5800. After calling the Animal Welfare League, I learned they would perform the same surgery for less than $1000. Carmel had the emergency surgery on Friday afternoon for $798 at the AWL, and I brought him home last night! He's back to being himself. It sickens me to imagine how many pets have died simply because their owners could not afford your astronomical prices. You see, the pets are the ones who pay the ultimate price. If you truly loved animals, you wouldn't take advantage of their owner's emotions in such a thoughtless way for money! Shame on you!Read Less
