The Crystal Lake Veterinary Hospital is McHenry County's leading full-service, small animal veterinary hospital providing comprehensive medical, surgical and dental care.
We provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of external laboratories. We work closely with area specialists when more advanced diagnostic and surgical services are needed. The facility includes a well-stocked pharmacy, in-hospital surgery suite with laser, in-house x-ray and ultrasound capabilities and a closely supervised hospitalization area.

Love my vets Dr Thomas Nick and Dr.Tina Bemis. Both are extremely knowledgeable and make you feel very comfortable! Desk staff and clinical staff are awesome!! I travel all the way from Lindenhurst to Crystal Lake because I love these guys so much! It's easy to get appointments and they're very accommodating!

After bringing my pets here for 15 years, I was told I could not bring my dog there anymore through a letter with her file attached. I went in because of a fracture on my dogs tooth. I was presented with 2 quotes to take care of it. A high and low. I didn't know there was an issue of me asking about it until I received the letter/file. The letter stated that apparently I didn't trust their opinion and care and that anything they suggested they would be doing the same for their own pets and to find a new vet. I never realized asking for clarification meant you didn't trust a clinic I had been bringing my pets to for 15 years. I was so disappointed in them all there. I have since found a great vet for my dog where I CAN ask questions...

Dr Tina Bemis was again, on top of her game! Helping us with a stray kitten we caught before the bitter cold hit. She has always been so caring for our cats. She goes above and beyond to make sure your pet is treated like her own! And let's not leave out the staff, they are there to make sure your visit is pleasant and get you in fast. Oh, and as for the stray, she is now part of our family, and another happy patient.

I'm so glad I listened to my sister when she told me to take my doggie here! Dr Nick and Dr Tina are AMAZING! I will be forever thankful of them for saving my Coco! They took me as an emergency walk-in and had to do surgery right away. They truly love and care about their patients unlike other places I've been to before. They treated her like they had known her forever. They're so smart and explain everything so throughly I felt like I was in Veterinary school. The Vet techs, nurses and receptionists were wonderful as well! Very sweet and caring. I'm never taking Coco anywhere else!

My semi-feral cat needed to have a bad wound taken care of and her routine shots. I got into the office the same day I called, in fact the same afternoon, and am so pleased, I finally found my permanent vet. Dr. Nick is superb and the staff members I interacted with are equally great. I know my Baby is in good hands there. I am grateful that I found Crystal Lake Veterinary Hospital.

I have been going here for 13 years, for dogs and cats, and I am confident that my pets always get the best care. The staff here is second to none and there is a very low turnover rate. With only a few exceptions labs have been done onsite. X-rays taken to have several of my registered dogs' hips graded have been accepted the first time. I have had care from wellness visits to surgery, including tooth cleaning, managing allergies and arthritis, and heart disease. All has been done to my complete satisfaction. The other big thumbs up? My dogs don't mind going to the vet. One of the things I was concerned about when we moved to Crystal Lake was finding a vet that I could trust with my furry family. This is the first place I went, and I never even considered looking anywhere else.
