Losing a pet is awful but I have to say that I have the best vet in the world. Not only did my vet come to my house so Zoe was in familiar surroundings and less scared, there were many other acts of kindness as well. Within days I received a sympathy card with a poem written by my vet about losing a pet. When I picked up Zoe’s urn, I was surprised to find it a nice metal with a paw print design and an inscription of “until we meet at the rainbow bridge”. Included with the ur...n was a clay disc with a paw print of Zoe’s, her name and 2017. This all just blew me away. Then today, I get a card in the mail that a donation was made in Zoe’s name to the university of Illinois college of veterinary medicine to benefit advancements in veterinary medicine. If I could give this place no stars, I would. Before I begin, my dog has a history of violence. He is going blind in one eye (that we know of) so he tends to get people confused or he gets nervous. He recognizes voices better then faces. If he feels threatened, he will bite. With that being said, this hospital was fully aware of it. My family and I were going on vacation and needed a place too look after him. So we had brought him here. When my mom had dropped him off she si...gned a waver that stated if anything minor happened to him would she like to be contacted. Of course she signed it and made sure she let them know that if ANYTHING was to happen, she wanted to be contacted. We dropped him off Thursday and picked him up Monday morning. No phone call, no nothing. His nose was badly injured, he was covered in is own poop and because he sat in his own feces, he's now got a rash on the inside of his lower legs. My heart nearly shattered. When I called the hospital and asked why he looked and smelled this was they told me they " couldn't handle him" and "didn't notice his nose". So... did he sit there for four days without any interaction? I noticed his nose right away, there's no way you can miss it. If you can't "handle" a dog, DONT take him and say you can take care of him. I've never been so upset and so heartbroken in my entire life. See More Read Less

Can't say enough good things about this wonderful place. I have been going here for 30 plus years and the doctors and staff go above and beyond. Today Dr Chemelewski operated on my dog Wriggley who has multiple issues and took amazing care of her, he even provided a complementary cleaning of her teeth. Our pitbull Crystal (moo-moo) was up all night, pacing the floors and panting, breathing heavy. She was showing me that she was in pain and very uncomfortable. I called the Fox Valley animal hospital first thing in the morning. They got us in right away at 11 o'clock. The doctors took x-rays and bloodwork. The doctor explained to me how serious this was for my crystal. She had a full blown infection in her uterus.The Doc had expressed her feelings and told me that she needed emergency surgery right away. The doctors at Fox Valley animal hospital took very good ,excellent care of our family member. She is home the next day and doing very well... We've been going to this place for years now, today my little 2 month old puppy in for his shots. About 40-50 minutes later he had a severe allergic reaction to one of his shots. Since he is our first dog to ever have a reaction like this I was freaking out, not only did they save my baby boy, but they are amazing at calming you down and giving you privacy to calm down. We have been taking our pets here for a very long time. Every experience has been a pleasure, and when it came time for me to need a regular vet for my dog, the choice was a no brainer. My moms Border Collie (at 3 years old) suffered from a condition causing paralysis from the waist down, a condition in which most dogs never recover from. Dr. Litchfield, on the other hand, realizing that we were dealing with family health issues as well, offered a solution. We were unfortunately ready to put her asleep, as a 3 year old BC, paralyzed, is not in any way shape or form a happy dog. In the midst of it, with the dogs leg shaved, and the serum in hand, Dr Litchfield suggested leaving the dog at the facility, for as long as it takes, while we deal with our family troubles, so the techs there can watch over her, and hopefully rehabilitate our loving little dog back to health. I am glad to report, that our little BC has made a fantastic recovery, although she is not 100%, she is more than active enough to be a very happy Border Collie. She is 9 years old, and we as a family cannot thank the Fox Valley Animal Hospital and Dr Litchfield. Our family is very happy, and so is our BC. The veterinarians are all excellent and so willing to explain things in depth in person or on the phone when results come back. The office may not be brand spanking new but what we want is great care for our pets and that is what we get here: compassionate and knowledgeable veterinarians, caring staff and excellent affordable care for our furry kids. I had a bit of a spaz out when my cat got sick. I was a new client and called to explain my situation. Samantha was very nice and made me an appointment for the next day. When I arrived everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. I'm super appreciative that they were patient and took their time with me and my cat even though they were clearly busy. Coming from a person who has worked in an animal care, I would not take my pets anywhere else. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Our dog lady came down with a sever and fast acting cancer and Fox Vally Animal Hospital treated her with the most love and compassion possible. They were willing to see me whenever I stopped in last minute and help with her care. And even donated money in her honor to an animal rescue foundation when she passed. Truly a great place! Read Less
