We recently had an emergency on a Sunday, our fur baby Jax could not pee. Having had this issue in the past with my prior cat Jasper my heart sank knowing the outcome was bleak. The DR met with us immediately and we did what we could to try to save my fur baby but ultimately we lost him. The compassion we were given during our loss has by far exceeded any expectation anyone could have. I would recommend this vet to anyone they truly loves animals and have a compassion for their families (owners) as well as the understanding of how hard the loss was for us. Read Less

This place is great for animals of all shapes and sizes, it is a vey warming and comfortable place, is also cheaper than most other places. I would recomend this to many other people.they are very friendly staff and they will always give you the best medicine and facts for your pet.they also make ur pet feel at home when they get shots or somthing that might frigten them. I've been taking my pet rabbit Toby here for about 3 years. Excellent service always. I just recently took a cat I adopted from the shelter there for a full checkup and we had to declaw his front paws. The staff goes above and beyond at making sure we know everything about meds, the procedures and what we need to do to keep our pets healthy. They always get us in super quick as well. Most say to go somewhere else because "their prices are too high" but you get what you pay for and you're paying for EXCELLENT service here. So unhappy with this clinic.my daughter had an emergency with her dog during the night about 3am fri.she was told from the woman she spoke to that she was unable to come in to help her dog because she couldn't handle the problem alone..and that my daughter & her dog would have to wait till busness hours...well the poor dog died..the woman called my daughter to see when she was bringing the dog in fri.morning .... well my daughter told her the dog suffered all night and died..i am so disgusted.. With this treatment..i will never come back to river ridge again..do you treat all your clients this way ??? Why do you even have an emergency number...?? Read Less

We have been going to see the vets since 1975 when the practice was in Sterling on route 2 beside the state police station. Our animals all enjoy going to see everyone and visit. Everyone makes a big deal over each one of them.. We rescue dogs and have had the privilege of having many into our home. I have used River Ridge for over 20 years. When I had to put down my 15 year old Chihuahua, Dr Sarah handled it professionally and with such a caring, loving presence. Dr Phil did the same when my cherished Golden Retreiver got cancer and had to be put down. Thanks to River Ridge they had lived long, healthy, lives. When I call and need an appointment they do their best to get us right in. We wait a very short time for our appointment and when we do see Dr. Phil, he takes the time to answer our questions and address our concerns. I have been using River Ridge for over 10 years and have never had any problems or issues. I have taken my dogs, cats and even my guinea pig to this clinic. All the girls at the desk are very friendly and helpful! My favorite vet is Dr Phil, he helped save my little Ellie's life 8 years ago, with his help I had 3 more years to love her! All the Dr's here are very good, very kind and gentle with my pets. I have heard people say it is expensive to come here , but I feel you get what you pay for ,and when it comes to my pets, who are a part of my family, I will pay a little more if I have to in order to get quality care for them.
