Due to a dog that has cancer, we come here more often than we like too! The staff is always very friendly and very attentive and loving towards the animals. Because of our work schedules, the doctors would often see our dog when my husband would bring her in, and then also make time on a different day to review her X-rays or whatever with me. These additional "appointments" I would come alone & the doctor (vet) would pull up the X-ray and go through things with me, often lasting quite long, at no additional charge - these were concerning questions I had that I could not be answered by my husband from the original appointment. I wanted to make sure I understood what was going on with our dog, and the vets here went above and beyond to answer every question I had (and I always have a lot).
At the onset of the cancer, the doctor was able to recognize there was something wrong with our dog, but would not diagnosis the cancer. Which is completely acceptable, just like human doctors, these are "general practitioners", not specialists, and they referred us to a special cancer doctor. There was no guessing game where we wasted money on appointments for them to check random things first and then only to later be referred elsewhere. It was recognized & referred immediately, with no wasted visits or wasted money.
Because of the up's and down's health-wise with a dog with cancer, we often would need last second appointments, and Edwardsville was able to accommodate on tight timelines & also meet our work demands so we weren't missing too much work trying to care for our dog.
We also had another dog and 3 cats, which also were seen at Edwardsville. However, they are more "normal" and were just seen for "normal" visits.
Edwardsville was also available to prepare our paperwork for the animals, as well their immunizations for their travel out the country. We have now moved to Europe and Edwardsville was able to ensure all our animals had the correct vaccinations, microchips, and other health information/paperwork ready. Everything was prepared as it needed to be in order for us to get the animals out of the country and accepted without issue into Europe with us. Read Less
