Affordable, compassionate, overall top notch establishment. Dr. Firsching is top notch as far as my dog and I are concerned. My Shih Tzu cowered at the doors of the several previous vets we used in the past and I would have to carry him in each time we went. I no longer have to do that since he loves Dr. Firsching. He marches right in. Read Less

Dr. Michael Firsching at Fort Russell - big NO. It is my contention that Dr. F. misdiagnosed my cat's bald-spot leg fungal infection, Dr. F. stating that the cat would stop his obsessive licking behavior if I put chili powder on his leg wound. This remedy only exacerbated the problem, the licking increased and the spot got bigger. I purchased over-the-counter fungal cream which worked very well, my cat stopped licking the wound and the fur had a chance to grow back- I suspect because the bald spot/infection was finally treated appropriately. The staff were nice, but I would prefer positives outcomes over niceties. Read Less

We have been taking our pets to Fort Russell for over twenty years now. We have never had a problem. Mike & his staff are always very friendly & genuinely care for our pets. He has cared for our goats, horses, cats, dogs, birds, & hamsters. He often has lower prices when compared to other area vets. He will not try to talk you into any extras either. In fact, he called me while my dog was getting dental work done to make sure I wanted certain elective things done. They even held my dog afterwards instead of kenneling her because she was whimpering. (She always whines when away from home though! It had nothing to do with the vet visit.)I would never hesitate to recommend this vet to anyone!
