I brought my cat in for a checkup today, and I was extremely impressed. I've had pets all my life and used a number of veterinary offices in the Chicago suburbs, and this place is a cut above. The atmosphere is very welcoming. It's spacious, bright, and very clean. The whole staff was so friendly and helpful: front desk, vet techs, and doctors. Dundee Animal Hospital is run more like a human doctor's office than the too casual way some veterinarian's offices are run. I appreciate their accuracy and efficiency in tracking my two dog's appointments, shots, meds, checkups. The tech staff is friendly and caring and I feel confident handing my dogs over to them. We followed Dr. Drazner, a specialist, there from his previous practice and have been very delighted with Dr. Cavanaugh as our regular vet. I would like to Thank Dr. Anne Grott who was able to help with my poof doggie Jade who has been suffering with blood shot eyes, itching, ears, eyes, nose, and her crying in pain. I had taken her in and got different things for her ears even though I explained all of the symptoms, and they didn't work :( I was getting tired of taking her in, so I gave her benadryl which really didn't help her much. She was still crying, itching, blood shot eyes. I hate taking her to the vet she hates going, I have to carry her in there. They are nice and understanding however its been a nightmare for her. **GREAT NEWS*As of 12/22/2016..since she saw Dr. Anne Grott, who I explained everything too, gave me ointment for her eyes, and pills for her allergies, so she is getting better, since the last 1 1/2 years of suffering. Thank you so much! She is getting better, if anything, I will have to continue on a regular basis. Dundee Animal Hospital is like family, from taking great care of my exotic pets when I was a kid to helping me through the recent loss of my beloved dog Sufi they are truly one of a kind. Dr. O'Brien has always been there and provided support and guidance above and beyond a veterinarians normal line of work (a phone call, a friendly voice sympathetic to the circumstances and explained what happened after my pet was too sick to make it to Dundee from Naperville). I just received a note that Dundee Animal Hospital made a donation in memory of Sufi to help with companion animal research and service at UofI's college of veterinary medicine. I am completely shocked by the pricing. I like this vet because they are close to my home and professional. However I walked out today due to my bill going to be more than $350. I scheduled an appointment at a nearby vet who is just as professional for a little more than $90 Maybe start quoting pricing over the phone so people don't waste their time. I think Dundee Animal Hospital has some of the best vets in our area, and their support staff is top-notch.  Yesterday, I was impressed when I brought a dog in to be evaluated for severe allergies. Dr. Larson's knowledge, empathy, and communication skills were amazing.  Allergies are such a tricky thing to diagnose and treat, but Dr. Larson seemed to know all the important details about the medications he was prescribing.  He did a very thorough examination of the dog and within a half-hour he was able to identify a skin problem and determine the best plan for treatment.  The staff was very friendly both as we arrived and as we were leaving.  I wish it wasn't so expensive, but this is definitely a case where you get what you pay for, and if a dog is having serious issues I would definitely recommend them! My parents took their healthy dog to Dr. Lupo for evaluation of itchy skin. He took the dog's temperature & told them it was 104 degrees & that the dog likely had a Tick born disease. They questioned him, as the dog has been on Heart Guard & Frontline forever. He insisted this. was a likely diagnosis, or mange! He ordered a battery of tests- to the tune of over $900. Dollars. He even told them that the dog may have something contagious to humans!! Guess what- all the tests were normal. The dog did NOT ever have a fever- that was a scam or incompetence. The dog had contact dermatitis from mosquito bites. This doctor is graduate of a 3rd world Veterinary school in the Caribean. I do NOT appreciate my elderly parents being scammed by Dr. Lupo of Dundee. Animal Hospital of Elgin. This is fraud and that is illegal doctor. Will not use Dundee Elgin Vet Clinic. Beware! I recently adopted a dog and took him there for a look over and to talk about solving his separation anxiety. They were able to fit us in within the hour and were extremely thorough! She explained some options on how to help him get over the anxiety, told me why they would or wouldn't work and made sure he was a healthy dog. I can't wait to form a life long relationship with this clinic. An added bonus is they offer 24 emergency services- not at this location but I can still "keep it in the family"Read Less

Over 10 year and 3 pets, Dundee Animal Hospital has become the only vet clinic I trust.I've worked with 3 doctors through the years and they have all been great listeners, provided thorough care and have always taken the time to explain the appropriate course of treatment.  Vet techs have also been very helpful, engaging and gentle.What it boils down to for me is that they have all sincerely cared about the health/recovery of my furry friends.  But here's what sets them apart:  After my elderly cat passed, not only did they send a sympathy card, but they also made a donation to the University of Illinois' Veterinary School of Medicine in her name.  I didn't even know they made the donation until I received a thank you letter from the school a year later.  It was a touching gesture.  I've always found it easy to get an appointment when I need one.I've always found everyone to be gentle, empathetic & honest.The facilities are always clean and organized.  While I prefer the Elgin location, I have also have positive experiences at the Dundee location. The doctor and staff we dealt with were extremely professional and caring. Our cat became suddenly ill, and they were able to get us in within a few hours of our phone call, even though their computers were down that morning. They did not give us a hard time about being behind on vaccinations or anything. Unfortunately, our cat had to be euthanized.
