Where do I begin? I would like to express my whole story but there's not enough characters on this review for me to tell it! I've been taking my baby milo to Dr Park since 2010 on Aug 18th I took him in for his yrly exam and vaccination and I also expressed some concern about Milo's diarrhea. we had scheduled a dental cleaning also which required blood work. Dr park dismissed my concerns even after showing him the picture of his poop. told me to make him some white rice and ground beef. cleaning was on the 24th.. Milo's diarrhea continued and I expressed it again and even after I gave him rice. Sept 5th I ended up taking him to Elmhurst Animal Care because he stop eating, they immediately did an ultrasound and found fluid in his stomach which contained bacteria.. cancer or perforation of intestines nothing they could do for him as it has been going on for quite sometime they said. On Sept 6th I sadly had to put my baby down. Completely devastated by this! How can a Dr who's seen milo for the first time find all this out and Dr Park could not! Dr Park's exam was very minimal!! all he was concerned about was the dental treatment which cost me $390! I don't care about the cost because he needed it! the lack of care for milo is what bothers me! the cleaning should've never happened and he should've been concerned about the black tarry diarrhea that I was concerned about!!! PLEASE if you love your pet DO NOT TAKE THEM HERE!!! They deserve better care than what they provide. I truly thought Milo was getting the best care from Dr Park until I went to another hospital. The exams alone they provide is so much better they give preventative care exams to catch any illnesses in advance! Dr. Park is not a Dr who cares I'm sorry but it's the truth. I will be reporting him! I hope you all take my review to heart. I miss my baby sooo much :( Read Less

I took both my dogs to see Dr. PARK. One needed his rabies shot and the other I just wanted looked at for first growth of fatty tumors. Both were weighed, ears checked, fatty tumors looked at and shot given to one for rabies. I was only charged for the rabies shot! I was shocked; where was my office visit charge? I went home and called to "thank" Dr. Park for his love of animal care rather than the love of MONEY that I have experienced at most other vets. I started going there because my daughter lived in Elmwood Park and thus was her vet. Okay. The ONLY reason i gave 1 star is for my most recent visit. I would give 5 stars for my other visits because of Dr Park JR. Emphasis on Jr. I have 2 pups. I visited this office a total of 3 times. First time, my first pup (my baby) got her 2nd distemper and check up by Dr Park Jr. (She had her first shots when we adopted her) but anyway ..Decent pricing. Doctor was awesome with my baby and he was very friendly with my fiance and I.Second visit, was with my first pup and new addition. First pup got her final distemper and rabies. My new addition got her first distemper and check up. Both my pups had slight redness in their ears so doc gave drops and i needed to clean their ears. Again, he, Dr Park JR, was awesome with my babies and very friendly.  Pricing normal.Third visit, With Dr Park SENIOR, i was VERY hesitant to see him because i really like Dr Park Jr. & I read some bad reviews of Park senior so i was nervous. But my new addition needed her shots and check up. He was nice with my fiance and i and nice with my new addition. While he was doing her check up i asked if white rice is okay to give her because she was vomiting. He said yes. And continued to give her last distemper and rabies shot. All good. So i went to pay and i got charged an extra $32.... i asked why because the last visit we did the exact same thing and i didnt get charged so much. The wife of Dr Park Sr said "next time dont ask any questions cause we will charge you for giving information". I said thats ludacris i always speak with Dr Park Jr and he is more than happy to give advice and answer questions and NEVER charge. And her response is mind boggling! She said "my son is always causing problems here, next time dont ask questions just let him look at your dog and you stay quiet ".There were about 4 people in the waiting area, i did not want to argue with this woman. But i did respond and say " excuse you, your SON is the ONLY reason i came back here, he was amazing" . She gave me the $32 and walked away. I am seriously wondering if i would EVER go back.  But if i do, i will make sure to call first and see if Dr Park Jr is there for my pups! Read Less

People- you need to know what's going on here...My parents used to take my childhood dog here regularly. That dog was going through what seemed like major depression. Not eating & sad. We took her to see Dr. Park and he gave her a vitamin shot and said it's good sent us on our way home. Few days later she was so bad- not able to walk or get up--so she pooped herself due to the vitamin shot. She was crying the whole time.. I felt awful. We took her to emergency and spend sooo much money to hydrate her and bring her back to "life". Turns out the dog had Addison's disease and needed pills to be treated. That's it- just pills! It was a simple fix. Had we waited 1 more day the dog would've DIED!Back then Addison's disease was considered rare so I let that slip. Then when I became a dog owner as I got older I took my dog here. She started wetting her bed and ours. Very annoying! Time for a doc visit. He looked her over and said she was fine. Few months later she's still having the problem. I took her in for a second opinion at another animal hospital and they diagnosed her on the spot. Just asked me a few questions and actually communicated.  It was a bladder issue when my dog lays down she cannot control it. The second doctor said this was not an uncommon issue and needed to be medicated daily (about $30 for a 30 day supply). None of this was the work of any Einstein doctor. Just a doctor on staff for a walk-in appointment. So why would I ever take any pet there again? Well I simply wouldn't. Dr. Park downplays everything and doesn't even ask any questions just shoves you out the door and you gotta pay the bill. My advice.... if you truly. truly love your dog. Do not go here- it's not worth the misdiagnoses and heartache.. Read Less

Let me just say that I've never been to Dr. Park for anything super serious--the most was an upset stomach (which he cured wonderfully). Luckily, the pooch has never needed anything more. Thus, I cannot really comment on visits that involve more than just shots and check ups.The staff is great. Warm, friendly, and so good with animals. My dog is particularly skittish and always has been. They always do so well with her and she's at ease within minutes. The pricing is also great. Park Animal Hospital is a bit of a drive for me, but definitely worth it. I pay around half of what my friends pay who take their pets to vets in the area. The facilities are clean, and the vibe is very family/mom-and-pop, which to me is much more comforting than the ones that feel so sterile or corporate. I've been going to Park for nearly 14 years. I've seen it all and I have to agree with other's comments that quality has  declined. It's unfortunate because up until the last 3-4 years, we trusted his expertise. I won't even go into all the details relating to misdiagnosis and unwillingness to assist at least one of my pets. This is a vet who has actually cussed at my dog while trying to get a blood sample. Let's ignore the fact my dog was muzzled and on the floor in a hot room with two techs holding him down. What dog wouldn't struggle? This is a vet who has REFUSED to do an x-ray because it would take too much time to sedate my dog. He's tired. He just wants to go through the motions while he trains his fresh-out-of-vet-school son to take over. The same son who spent 15 minutes trying to get a blood sample from my 13 year old dog. His dad stood just outside the door and didn't help. You'd think he'd have some heart for a dog who he's seen his entire life, NOPE!Avoid this place unless you're just looking for cheap sub-par care or only take your dog for vaccines once a year. Staff is nice though, so there's that. Meh. Read Less

Took my dog to get her teeth cleaned after being told by Dr. Park that her teeth were fine they just needed a good cleaning, so I made an apointrment and brought my dog to get her teeth cleaned, when I called to see how she was doing, I found out that they decided to take it upon themselves to pull four teeth, you would think that a etical vet would call the owner, them them and let them know that your dog needs to have hisa teeth pulled and do we have your premmision to procide with the extraction, but not Dr. Park, it seems that the only thing he is concerned with is getting paid, so he orignaly quotrd me 202.00 and I ended up paying 290.00 for a procedure I would of had done in the first place, so now my dog is missing four teeth, Dr Park made an aditonal 70.00 dollars and they acted like it was no big deal, it's not the money because my dog has pet insurance, it's the attitute that we can do whater we want to your pet, without giving you the common courtsey of informing the owner, so I will post a review of my experance and file a complint with the state licensing board, but when it's all said and done my dog was treated like a piece of garbage by Dr Park and I will never put his health in the hands of a vet who only sees dollars sign. I can't even tell you the number of times Dr. Park and his staff have been so wonderful to me and my pets. A few years ago, my beloved cat Mojo was so sick, and because of Dr. Park's expertise and caring evaluation determined he had diabetes. With insulin and check ups, Mojo lived 4 more years. When it came time to euthanize him, I cried my eyes out and he and his staff were there for me. I received a sympathy card a few days after wards. Little did I know how much I would need them 8 days later....I was walking my cousin's Siberian Husky puppy at 10 am and we were attacked by a vicious pit bull. The attack on the dog and myself was so horrific, a neighbor had to shoot the pit to stop it from killing us. After I was attended to by paramedics, I took the husky to Dr. Park. He saw her immediately and assessed her injuries. He wanted to make sure her traumatic injuries were treated by a specialist, so he referred us to a trauma center. He refused to take payment for the visit and just told us to go take care of the puppy. My hand was badly hurt and I had to go to the ER, but luckily my cousin got there just in time to take his husky. The next day, Dr. Park called to see how me and the puppy were doing. He was so happy to hear we were OK and that we were at our respective homes resting. I can't express enough thanks to Dr. Park and his staff. You cannot go wrong by taking your pet to this practice. He will always do his best and if he can't do it, he is not arrogant to try in vain, he will refer you to a specialist. He just wants what is best for your pet, just like you. Read Less

I started taking my puppy to a vet in the same area as soon as I got her. She spent the first two years of her life sick. She would be fine, and then go in for routine shots and a day or two later, she was very sick and had to be taken back. I spent a fortune on visits, x-rays and medicine. This was a dog that had no other pets around and was spoiled like a baby. The last straw was when she was two the head Vet told me she had tumors and needed surgery. He showed me x-rays,which cost a fortune and did not look like they came from my dog. All procedures were done away from me in a ""back room"" that the owners are never allowed in. My dog started to become very agitated whenever I took her there, and I am convinced she was struck at one point because I heard her yelp in the ""back room"" and was told she was ""nervous"". They also tried to convince me she needed special food which cost another fortune. I took her to Dr. Park the next day and I never looked back. He performed the same tests, charged me less for them, and I was always there for every test. The tests came back clear, she had no tumors. The other vet was just trying to charge me for unnecessary surgery. He is a great Dr. and he has a wonderful staff that care about their little patients. She is 6 years old now and doing great. Thanks Park Animal Hospital Read Less
