I have been a customer of Berglund's for the past 15 years and have had occasional visits to other area vet hospitals. Without a doubt Berglund still provides the best animal care and family care for people with cats and dogs in this area! Both Dr. Hill and Dr. Teuber are young enough to be aware of newer treatments, but wise enough to know when to "wait and see". The new location has a big lobby, easy access to treatment rooms, and a SUPER CARING support staff. Free parking behind the building helps. We had our first visit at Berglund after seeing our previous vet for over 18 years. We switched for distance/convenience reasons. We were very happy with everyone that we have worked with from receptionists, to vet techs to the doctors. Prices are reasonable. Ginger & Kelly give them a very enthusiastic two paws up. I've had my pets cared for by vets at a number of the other local animal hospitals (Bramer, Terry, Blue Pearl, etc.) during the last 20 years, and I don't have anything bad to say about the core health care provided by the veterinarians at any of these fine establishments.   Evanston is fortunate to have many well-qualified vets serving our community.  However, Berglund's new location (near the Central Ave METRA station in Evanston), improved offices layout and, most important, the very high professional qualifications of staff at Berglund make for my highest ranking among any of the local vet services.  I have had only the most positive experience with Berglund for my family's new Maine Coon kitten, and I will be moving my other pets' care to Berglund.  Engagement by Berglund staff with both the pet and the human is compassionate, gentle and entirely professional.  New DVM Aria Hill comes with vet degree and training from Cornell University's Vet College, which is year-after-year rated either the #1 or the #2 veterinarian program in the USA.  Vet assistant Amin's "bedside" manner with pets is gentle and confident.  Finally, I have found that Berglund's recommendations for service are directly explained, no upselling pressure, and their pricing is competitive (if not slightly lower than the other local animal hospital). I'm posting this review under the new location for Berglund, as they just moved down the straight into a gorgeous new space. The new office is bright and inviting, and the parking is really easy around the back. It's definitely a big improvement from the last space, but with the same friendly staff. We've been coming to Berglund for a few years - we followed our vet, Dr. Teuber, from her previous office in the city, because we trust her with our dogs above anyone else. We've had other perfectly kind, capable vets before we met Dr. Teuber several years ago, but she really goes above and beyond and shows a level of integrity with her care for animals that we do believe is very rare. On the difficult occasions where one of our dogs has had to be hospitalized or sent to urgent care, Dr. Teuber still managed the situation, communicating both with me and the hospital staff taking care of our dog on a daily basis, and even the doctors of the hospital commented to me how this is not typical. We felt so comforted in such an emotionally trying time to know that someone we trusted was still involved in the care of our pet. Our dogs are a part of our family, and it's important to us that we entrust their health with someone who respects their lives as much as we do. From our experience with Dr. Teuber, her career is not a job to her, but rather, a dedication. I would recommend both Dr. Teuber and the warm and welcoming staff at Berglund to anyone looking for a trustworthy, compassionate veterinarian. Read Less
